Con poco más de 400.000 habitantes, Kaunas es la segunda ciudad de Lituania y cuenta con algunos atractivos turísticos como la iglesia de la Resurrección de Cristo, a la que se llega con un funicular y desde donde se obtienen las mejores vistas de la ciudad, el edificio del Ayuntamiento, construido en el siglo XVI de estilo barroco, la iglesia de Vytautas, la Casa de los Truenos, antiguo edificio de los comerciantes de la liga hanseática, el Castillo de Kaunas o la iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel.
La ciudad cuenta con una gran cantidad de museos entre los cuales se destacan el museo del gran pintor y compositor lituano M.K.Ciurlionis, el museo de guerra de Vytautas el Grande, y el museo del demonio (diablo), único en el mundo que nos ofrece una colección de tres mil obras de este personaje mitológico.

Klaipeda, Lithuania - the harbor and other attractions
Klaipeda is a port city in Lithuania, in the municipality of Klaipeda, and the most important Lithuanian Baltic Sea port. The town is dotted with beautiful half-timbered houses that are relics from the past. Cruise ships can be observed here and a lot of tourists visiting the Klaipeda's old town.
Tourist attractions: half-timbered houses from the 17th to 19th centuries, Simon-Dach-Brunnen Theaterplatz, and the former sail training ship Meridianas (now a restaurant).

Klaipėda (/ˈkleɪpɛdə/; Lithuanian: [ˈkɫɐɪpʲeːdɐ] (listen); German: Memel; Polish: Kłajpeda; Russian: Клайпеда; Samogitian: Klaipieda) is a city in Lithuania on the Baltic Sea coast. The capital of the eponymous county, it is the third largest city and the only major seaport in Lithuania.
The city has a complex recorded history, partially due to the combined regional importance of the usually ice-free Port of Klaipėda at the mouth of the river Akmena-Danë [lt]. Located in the region of Lithuania Minor, at various times, it was a part of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, Prussia and Germany until the 1919 Treaty of Versailles. As a result of the 1923 Klaipėda Revolt it was annexed by Lithuania and has remained with Lithuania to this day, except between 1939 and 1945 when it was occupied by Germany following the 1939 German ultimatum to Lithuania. - from Wikipedia

En este vídeo se hace un recorrido por Vilnius, capital de Lituania, cuyo centro histórico fue considerado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco en 1994. Visitaremos la Catedral, la estatua de Gediminas, la Torre del Castillo de Gediminas y veremos unas panorámicas del nuevo Vilnius. También veremos edificios como el de la Universidad, en el que se encuentra la iglesia de los Santos Juanes, y el Palacio de la República. VILNIUS - LITHUANIA - City stroll - Part two.
VILNIUS, the capital city of Lithuania, is delightful, welcoming and a historical treat with a cafe side-walk ambiance. This is Part Two, of a three part set, strolling round Vilnius - although Part Three has some driving in it. Hopefully they will tempt you to visit and experience Vilnius for yourself. Hence the reason Vilnius's treasures are not explored in greater detail. The videos were recorded mid-April, just about the time spring was in the air....which for Vilnius is a little later than normal. However the weather was generally sunny and warm during the day even if the wind, as you will hear on the recordings, was somewhat blustery.
Gediminas Ave / Gedimino pr - Vilnius' shopping thoroughfare - has restricted traffic measures at weekend to allow easy shopping. This is why the Gediminas Ave / Gedimino pr looks so empty / traffic free.

Visitaremos la municipalidad de #Neringa y algunas de sus poblaciones como #Nida y #Pervalka. En Nida veremos la Duna Parnidis, con su reloj de sol, el Museo del #Ámbar y la Casa Museo de Thomas Mann. También veremos la Duna Muerta, cerca de #Pervalka. Ya en #Klaipeda, la alemana Memel haremos un recorrido por la ciudad, visitaremos la famosa Plaza del Teatro, con la estatua dedicada a Anke de Tharan, musa del poeta Simon Dach. También visitaremos su puerto, el más nórdico del Mar Báltico que no se congela durante el invierno. Por último, viajaremos a la Colina de las Cruces, a 10 km de #Siauliai, la cuarta ciudad lituana, un lugar de peregrinación para muchos católicos.

Fourth of a 9 episode series about my impressions from a visit to the Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in July 2018. In this episode, we see Klaipeda (called so because it used to be a marshland and thus sunken foot), a city with a multitude of statues. The Statue Park, the Witch Mountain, the local market, the Dane River and the Curonian peninsula, with the herons and cormorants are also documented. The narration includes various episodes from the local history, tales and myths.
The text is in English but the narration is in Hebrew.
