Reindeer People I SLICE I Full documentary
In Northern Mongolia, a sacred alliance exists between people, ancestor spirits and reindeer. We are invited in a family of Dukha reindeer nomads during their migration through the forests of Mongolia's Hovsgol province. The oldest Dukha, is a divine seer, a 96-year old shaman, called Tsuyan. She is the link between the healing songs of the forest ancestors, her people and their reindeer. To live in harmony with them, people had to learn to respect nature and animals and to pass down their beliefs, from generation to generation, by invoking the song-lines of their deceased ancestors.

Balapan, the wings of the Altai | SLICE I Full documentary
In the Deloun valley of western Mongolia, men struggle to keep their sheep herd alive from hungry wolves. To fight back, they have decided to organize a massive wolves hunt with their tamed eagle. Khoda Bergen, a 4 years-old and dreams of participating in the hunt. Before that however, he will first have to capture and train a Balapan, a “young eagle”.

Summer Migration of Siberian Nomads, Кочевники тундровой летней миграции
Possibly the most wonderful two days of my life were spent with these beautiful Khanty nomads from northern Siberia. We drove a long way to meet a group we had contacted, got lost, and ended up with this amazing family who took us in and shared a long night's migration with us.
The day starts with the gathering of fresh antlers from the reindeer (caribou). After a hard day the nomadic family return to their camp and pack everything on to their sledges. They migrate through the night as this is the coolest time of day. Finally, in the early hours of the morning they set up camp, have one last cup of tea and go to bed. They migrate every two to three days in order to provide fresh clean pasture for their animals. Healthy living for everyone.

День начинается со сбора свежих рогов у северного оленя (карибу). Это не повредит и не повредит им, потому что у рога нет нервов, и кожа все равно скоро будет стираться. Mongolia is a big country with bad transportation, so visiting too many provinces will require much time spent travelling. Hôvsgôl (or Hövsgöl) lake, in Hövsgöl province, is beautiful and can easily be accessed from Khatgal. There is little architecture in Mongolia, but Amarbaysgalant monastery, Selenge province, in the middle of nowhere, is worth seeing. Erdenet's open copper mine, the biggest copper mine in Asia, is in Orhon province.
