WHY DON'T YOU SPEND LONGER AT DESTINATIONS?
The usual suspects I'm afraid - time and money! Hotels especially these days make my eyes water like a true Scotsman.

Alicja will feature whenever possible, but she has her own life and a proper job so it can take a while for our schedules to match up. Trust me though, I prefer it when She is there too!

Kiel Canal – the Doorstep of The Baltic Sea | Ep. 143
We transit Germany’s Kiel Canal and enter the Baltic Sea, a dream of ours that has taken several years to realize given the challenges posed by the pandemic. The Kiel Canal holds a bunch of wonders along its 98 kilometer meandering route and we share these with you. Jump on board and watch numerous and varied ships pass closely by us as we make our way first to Rendsburg and then into the Kiel fjord at the other end.
At this point we have been in northern Germany for just five days and we can see their engineering minds at work in the way they have established a robust wind power industry on the shores of their waterways. Impressive.

Overnight ferry Kiel, Germany - Gothenburg, Sweden. Great rail & sail combination (Stena Line ferry)
The ferry from Kiel in northern Germany to Gotenburg in Sweden is a great way for a missing sleeper train (especially for passengers from The Netherlands, Belgium northern France and big parts of Germany) on the route by train to Norway. In this video I'll take you on board of the Stena Germanica, one of the vessels on this route and give you as much useful information as possible.
