You can find everything in this market, from fresh Japanese seafood like sliced raw tuna, scallops, king crab, and more. We're starting out with our first Japanese street food by trying a nice Uni Ikura Don also known as sea urchin and salmon roe bowl. This is the perfect street food to try in Japan in the morning for breakfast! You can also eat amazing fresh sashimi in this sushi restaurant, but I preferred the bowl of salmon roe and sea urchin.

After this, we found the most INSANE Sashimi stall, serving up fresh tuna sashimi by the cube, sliced right in front of you! It doesn't get any better than this! It is served to you with a little soy and wasabi, absolutely perfect!

After the amazing tuna sashimi, we went deeper into the Tsukiji market to find some other Japanese street food, and found a stall selling more raw Japanese seafood, and decided to try the raw scallops. They were super tasty!

After this we found a stall selling a dish known as Kuromon don, a rich beef offal stew over top of rice and topped with green onions. It was very delicious and super fun to enjoy right on the street! You just pull up a chair and sit down on the counter and watch them scoop up this delicious Japanese street food right before your eyes!

After this, we went for a famous bowl of ramen noodles in Japan, at Ichiran ramen. It is a Tonkatsu style broth, so quite creamy and rich, and the best part is how you can customize it exactly how you want it, with different levels of spiciness and richness, all from a machine!

After this amazing ramen, we went for a once in a lifetime Sushi experience at Nishi-azabu Kamikura. It wasn't cheap, but it was an amazing experience that you will always remember. The master chef cuts each piece of raw fish for you and creates Sushi for you individually and serves it to you by hand. It's unforgettable and you can taste new flavours and textures with each piece.

Japanese Street Food - GIANT OYSTER and Seafood Tour of Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, Japan!

Tsukiji Market in Tokyo is one of the best places for Japanese street food!
Subscribe for more videos►
T-shirts for sale here►

Sadly, there was a recent fire in the outer Tsukiji Market at a legendary ramen shop. Luckily no one has been reported injured from the fire, but it is very sad to see some legendary Japanese street food stalls completely destroyed.

Ok, now back to the information from this Japanese street food tour of Tsukiji Market in Tokyo!

If you’re a food lover, there’s now way you’re going to visit Tokyo without a trip to Tsukiji Market. The inner part of the market is where you’ll find all the fresh seafood - the fish market part of the market. The outer part of the market is where you’ll find all sorts of Japanese street food snacks, some of which are seafood, others are not, and where you’ll find restaurants and all sorts of market stalls.

Here’s the list of everything I ate and where during this Japanese food tour in Tokyo (also, everything is on this map:

Kitsuneya - legendary organ stew
Address: 4 Chome-9-12 Tsukiji, Chuo, Tokyo 104-0045, Japan
Organ stew - 850 JPY ($7.70) per bowl

Sea urchin (uni) - 500 JPY ($4.53)

Nishin Tasuke
Eel skewer - 200 JPY ($1.81) per skewer

Ajino Hamato
Corn fishcake - 300 JPY ($2.71)

Tsukiji Saito Fisheries
Giant oyster - 1,400 JPY ($12.68)

Home-style Sushi - 本種
Large plate sushi - 1,500 JPY ($13.59)
Chirashi don - 900 JPY ($8.15)

Matcha ice cream - 400 JPY ($3.62)

Tamago (sweet egg omelet) - 100 JPY ($0.91)

Blowtorched scallop - 1,000 JPY ($9.05)

Tenfusa Tempura - amazing small restaurant for tempura
Address: 5 Chome-2-1 Tsukiji, Chuo, Tokyo 104-0045, Japan
Total price - 2,500 JPY ($22.64)

This tour includes 10 different Japanese street foods. Probably my favorite thing of the entire day was the giant oysters, the amazing home style sushi, and the blowtorched seafood scallop. But really Tsukiji Market is a Japanese food paradise and a seafood lover's dream come true.

When you visit Tokyo, I hope you have an amazing time eating at Tsukiji Market!

Best Sushi in Japan - Tsukiji Fish Market to $300 HIGH-END SUSHI in Tokyo! | Japanese Food

For this Japanese food and sushi tour, I was on the Best of Tokyo Food Tour with David from The Hungry Tourist. His tours are one of a kind and focus on deep high end food!

NOTE: In saying Best Sushi in Japan, I'm not saying this particular restaurant is the best sushi in Japan, but that the sushi journey, from Tsukiji fish auction, to the middle man who the best sushi chefs in the world get their tuna from (where we visited), to the omakase style of eating sushi - it's the entire process that's the best in the world of sushi.

We started off by going to the Tsukiji Fish Market tuna auction, that takes place early in the morning. The famous fish market is the biggest tuna auction in the world, and the best tuna that you get just about anywhere in the world for top end sushi restaurants comes through Tsukiji Market. We met up with Sushi Master Hiro Sato, who brought us around the market and took us to the Tuna King (Yamaguki), who is known for buying tuna and reselling on the best tuna to the best of the best of sushi restaurants in Tokyo.

It was fascinating to have an opportunity to visit Tsukiji Market for the fish auction, and to see the tuna being sliced in front of your eyes.

Sushi Arai (鮨 あらい) - For dinner, we had reservations a t one of the best restaurants in Tokyo for sushi, a restaurant called Sushi Arai. Our Best of Tokyo food tour had the entire 8 seater restaurant to ourselves, and it was pure joy to watch the chefs as they assembled each mini plate of food. Then it was time for sushi, and Chef Arai is a master, he literally just flies with his hands, gathering the fish in one hand and the ball of rice in the other, combining each bite with wasabi and molding them together. This was one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had in my life, and the quality, balance, and perfection of the sushi, is next level.

Price - About 34,000 JPY ($300) per person

It was an amazing day of learning about the best sushi in Japan, both from the Tsukiji Market auction side, and the distribution of the tuna, all the way to eating at one of the top luxury sushi restaurants in Tokyo.

Thank you to The Hungry Tourist for inviting me on The Best of Tokyo Food Tour.
I didn’t personally pay for the food in this video.

Ameya-Yokochō Market is a great Japanese street food haven in Tokyo!
Subscribe for more videos►
T-shirts for sale here►

There aren’t too many open air street flea markets in Tokyo anymore, but Ameya-Yokochō located in Ueno district, is one of the few remaining. It’s a market where you’ll find everything and anything - from a fresh wet market to shoes and cosmetics, all open air, and under the Ueno railroad tracks. It also happens to be a great place to sample some budget Japanese street food in Tokyo.

Here’s what I ate on this tour of Ameya-Yokochō Market:

Chirashi don - sashimi rice bowl, quality is not the best, but it is quite budget
Total price - 1,750 JPY ($15.92) for 2

Oyama Meat Pie - this is a little gem, it’s like a little deep fried meat patty - so greasy and so good.
Price - 200 JPY ($1.82)

Izakaya Hamachan - Throughout the market you’ll find plenty of little izakaya’s, Japanese pubs, where you can grab a drink and some food. They are great places to hang out when you’re exploring the food at the market.
Total price - 2,743 JPY ($24.96)

Taiyaki and ice cream - These are two of the most popular Japanese street food sweet snacks. The taiyaki wasn’t the best I’ve had, but the ice cream was quite nice.
Price - 450 JPY ($4.09)

Jumbo Kebab - Believe it or not, doner kebabs are actually one of the most popular street foods to eat at Ameya-Yokochō Market, and I saw mostly Japanese people eating doner kebabs. I ordered the super spicy hot sauce with my doner, and it was just the perfect spicy ending to this street food tour!
Price - 500 JPY ($4.55)

INSANE Japanese STREET FOOD Tour of Ameyoko Market | Tokyo, Japan

When I learned that I would get to spend twelve amazing days in Japan back in January of 2019, I knew that there were many things I had to do while I was there. Among them, try their famous convenience store food, ride a bullet train, eat as many types of ramen as I could, stay at a traditional onsen, see Mount Fuji, and sample lots of authentic Japanese street food! And let’s just say Japan blew my expectations out the water! Come and join me on my epic trip through this magnificent island nation!

Subscribe to TabiEats:
Follow Shinichi on Instagram:

I’ve eaten street food in many countries around the world now, and Japan is right up there with the best of them! I couldn’t wait to try some more Japanese street foods for dinner, so my friend Shinichi from TabiEats took me to Tokyo’s most famous place to get amazing street food! Come along with us as we eat our way through Ameyo Market!

My Film Making Kit ►

My boy Shinichi promised me lots of surprises on this street food tour and he did not disappoint at all! Ameyo Market was once a black market after the war, but has evolved into a street food market where you can try all sorts of tasty treats, and it’s not all Japanese! Here, you can also get Chinese and Korean food, as well as kebabs.

The first place we set out for was a place famous for their takoyaki, or octopus balls, but they were already sold out! So instead, we moved on to a nearby stall, where we got some seafood half-bowls, which were very reasonable at just 300 Yen each, or roughly $2.80 U.S. The bowl came with squid, tuna, salmon, salmon roe, minced tuna, and some sushi rice with soy sauce and wasabi on the side. The salmon was so fresh and buttery, it tasted like it came straight from the ocean, and there’s a reason why roe is called the gems of the sea! It was full of briny deliciousness, as was the squid, which was also chewier. The minced tuna blew my mind! I’d never had a seafood bowl this fresh before. The wasabi was really hot, though!

Next, we stopped at Arirang Hot Dogs, where I got a dish called an extremely popular and trendy dish called Potatorella, which is potato and mozzarella on a stick. I had it with a sweet chili sauce and garlic. It cost 480 Yen, or roughly $4.33 U.S. It was like a mozzarella stick with a thick, crunchy potato coating and lots of melted cheese inside! It’s heavy and a little sweet and a little spicy, and is a must-try!

Next, Shinichi took me to a Korean street food stall, where we picked up the most popular South Korean street food dish, tteok-bokki, which is stir-fried mochis in a spicy, sweet sauce called gochujang along with fish cakes, sausage, and green onion. It was gooey and delicious, and had some nice Asian spices in it. There weren’t any sausages in this one, but it was amazing. The gochujang sauce was almost like a sriracha or a spicy sweet-and-sour sauce. It was hot, but apparently the Korean version is even spicier! I loved it!

After that, we went across the street to a place with an endless menu for some oysters! You get 5 oysters for 1,000 Yen, or roughly $10 U.S. I tried my oyster with ponzu sauce and a squeeze of lemon. It was huge and incredibly fresh. The biggest oyster I’ve ever had!

Shinichi got some fish called shishamo, which have roe inside them! I had it with some mayo. The fish was nice and steamy, and wasn’t too salty or fishy. The fish are small enough that you can eat the bones with no problem, and the Japanese mayo with them was fantastic!

Lastly, we went to a sort of stand-up bar that sells 20 varieties of sake! I got a super dry one that was strong but light at the same time. You have to be careful with sake; just because it’s light doesn’t mean is isn’t super strong! Each glass is only 500 Yen each, or about $4.50.

Wow! What an incredible street food tour. While Shinichi’s favorite thing was the Potatorella, I couldn’t stop raving about that amazing seafood bowl! Talk about a fresh, amazing, Japanese meal!

I hope you enjoyed my epic nighttime street food tour at Ameyo Market in Tokyo! If you did, please give this video a thumbs up and leave me a comment below. And please subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already. I will see you in the next travel food adventure!

Best Sushi in Tokyo Japan - Street food tour of Tsukiji Fish Market & $500 Michelin Star Restaurant

Assalmu Alikom people! Greetings of peace,

Some of the top things to do in Japan is as follows:
Visit Tsukiji fish market
Eat at a Michelin starred restaurant
Visit the arcades!

It is day 4 of our Japan trip and we wanted to start the travel vlog with our visit to Tokyo's Tsukiji Fish market to sample and try some of the best sushi, sashimi and Japanese food. The Tsukiji fish market is located close to Ginza and is a walking distance from Shiodome station. If you decide to wake up early you can watch the auction at the fish market but you will need to get there before 3 AM to get admitted.

Our hotel, the Royal Park Hotel Shiodome was really close to the fish market and we decided to walk and take Japan's transit and subway system. The market is huge and the inner section has tons of cool and unique things to buy. This is definitely one of the best things to do when you visit Tokyo.

we ended trying a sashimi and sushi place that was incredible. We had meguro, blue fin tuna, uni - sea urchin, fish roe or fish eggs, and otoro - tuna belly!

After the Tsukiji fish market we wanted to get out of the rain and visit a shopping mall that has cool food selection and arcades called DiverCity Tokyo Plaza. We found a lot of japanese kitkat and hello kitty souvenirs to bring back home.

You cannot visit Japan without going to an arcade! We ended up going to Round1 which is a huge complex filled with arcades, sports and lots of fun things to do.

For dinner, we had reservations for a 2 starred Michelin restaurant called Umi where Chef Nakamura specializes in Sushi! This was an incredible experience where the restaurant only seats 8-10 people and the chef makes every piece of sushi right in front of you! My favouirte piece of sushi was the Uni - sea urchin and the otoro sushi - tuna belly.

I will post a separate travel vlog video of our food experience at Umi Sushi in Tokyo!

Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe.
