Growing up in Arizona, I've always been fascinated by the desert. That's why I am particularly interested in the BEDOUIN TRIBE of North Africa and the Middle East. Believe it or not, there are over 8 million bedouins (nomadic Arabs) living across 21 desert nations.

Over the years, I have had some incredible experiences with bedouins in countries like Yemen, Oman, Sudan, Algeria, Mauritania, and Jordan — and today, I finally got around to telling you the story of the Bedouins while here in the Sinai peninsula of Egypt.

All I have to say is that bedouins are some of the most open and hospitable people on earth -- they will force-feed you and serve you copious amounts of hot sugary tea. I really admire their lifestyles and I'm excited to share this story with you.

AL HASA OASIS, SAUDI ARABIA - Welcome to Al Hasa Oasis, the world’s biggest oasis, and home to over 2 million palm trees, and endless amount of date palms! It also happens to be home to some very unique and rare Arabian food. Today we’re exploring some fo the local dishes, including Hassawi red rice - considered more precious than gold!

Friend in the video:
Fahad Alshuaibi: - Huge thank you to Fahad for taking me around Al Hasa and for the incredible food and experience!

Breakfast - Before doing anything we started with a champions breakfast in Al Hasa - simmered lamb legs with special bread made with date syrup. Delicious and the perfect way to get started on this Saudi Arabian food tour.

Qaisariya Al-Ahsa Sou ( - Al Hasa is extremely well known for its market, where you’ll find everything you need from spices to herbs to clothes to coffee. It’s been a market that’s attracted people from all around the region and traders for centuries. It was fascinating to learn from Fahad about the unique and common ingredients used in Al Hasa cuisine.

Rice harvest - We took a quick trip to a farm to see some of the hassawi red rice harvest
This can be quite a quick edit to see the hassawi red rice harvest. It’s only grown in the Al Hasa oasis, and it’s one of the world’s most expensive rice grains, and extremely rare. Local consider it more precious than gold, and it has huge nutritional value.

Farm for cooking and eating - The highlight of this experience was going back to the date palm farm where Fahad and friends cooked a huge local meal including the most delicious and rare Al Hasa foods that really showcase the incredible local culture. The spread of food and the variety was astounding - it was one of the best meals I had in Saudi Arabia!

Thank you again to Fahad and to Visit Saudi Arabia for arranging my trip and this incredible experience!

Unseen SAUDI ARABIA Village Food!! Whole Goat RICE PLATTER in Jazan (Yemen Border)!!

???????? Saudi Arabian Food Tour:
????️ Get Smoked Ghost Pepper:
???? Subscribe:

JAZAN, SAUDI ARABIA: High in the mountains of Saudi Arabia, in the very southwestern corner, on the border of Yemen, is Jazan province. It’s a unique part of Saudi Arabia, where some of the world’s most prized coffee in grown and where the mix of culture and food is unlike other parts of the country. Today we have the privilege to visit a local coffee farm where a local family will be cooking a full goat haneed in the backyard.

We began our journey from Jizan city, in the Jazan province of Saudi Arabia. The city is located on the Red Sea, yet just an hour drive away to Fayfa, and you’re transported high into the rugged green mountains that are famous for generations of coffee farming.

Coffee is more than just a drink here, it’s a symbol of hospitality and a gesture of welcome. The coffee is much different than your typical Americano - it’s roasted very lightly, and brewed with cardamom and saffron for a unique fragrance. Rather than using sugar, coffee is served black, but with dates so you can alternate between sips of coffee and sweet dates. The combination is perfect.

After a welcome and coffee, we lit the outdoor wood fire oven, and then took a tour of the farm to learn about the prized Khawlani coffee beans. The farming practice has been passed down for generations in this area. Along with coffee, there were many medical edible herbs throughout the mountain.

Back to the oven, we loaded up an entire goat, along with big handfuls of sour dough, scented with the aroma green leaves. The oven was closed tight for a couple of hours to seal in all the steam and smoke. This cooking technique is common in Saudi Arabia and really does a great job of smoking, baking, and steaming all at the same time.

The time finally came, and we dished out all the tender goat on the rice trays. There were also a number of side dishes, including fresh buttermilk served in a smoky wooden bowl, a variety of doughs served with ghee, and possibly the highlight for me; helba, a sudsy fenugreek sauce that’s definitely a unique flavor, and loved in this region.

It was a meal I’ll never forget, in this friendly coffee village in the mountains of Jazan!

Dubai Food - RARE Camel Platter - WHOLE Camel w/ Rice + Eggs - Traditional Emirati Cuisine in UAE!

My new blog:
Dubai Food is incredibly delicious! Check out for 3 months free w/ 1 year pack and 49% OFF! We visited Dubai in the UAE to try some traditional Emirati Cuisine, and joined up with our friend Peyman to eat a whole camel platter with rice and eggs!

►Check out Peyman's Channel Here:

► The BEST VPNs for China:

This is a traditional Emirati meal that is usually reserved for special occasions or very exclusive guests. It's not a normal Dubai Street Food, but that's why it's so good. It is an extremely rare Arab food nowadays! You have to be incredibly lucky to experience this whole camel platter! This is definitely one of the must try foods in Dubai! It is a traditional Emirati food and is one of the best things to do in Dubai. Camel meat is something that may be sensitive to some viewers, so make sure you're comfortable with watching the camel cooking! The chefs who prepared the camel recipe were originally from the South of India in Kerala, but have been living in Dubai for over 20 years.

If you're thinking of traveling to Dubai for a food trip, you can't go wrong, there is so much delicious Emirati cuisine and amazing street food to try! I must admit, most of the food is in Dubai restaurants that are clean and quiet, but that is part of the charm of Dubai.

First, Peyman and I checked out the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, and then made our way to the one and only Camel Restaurant, address below:

Entire Camel Platter in Dubai: Zaman Awal Restaurant
Address: Al Boom Village, Dubai, UAE, United Arab Emirates

If you're wondering if you should eat street food in Dubai or go for regular restaurants in Dubai, I recommend mixing it up and going for both. In this food video, we are solely visiting one of the best restaurants in dubai for the whole camel plate.

The Secret Lives of the Bedouin Nomads

She was born in the desert and wants only to be buried beneath its rocky soil. But in the meantime, she’s found a very enterprising way to make money.

They have herded goats and camels amongst the shifting, rocky sands of North Africa and the Middle East since time immemorial. Their name means “desert nomad” in Arabic – they are the Bedouin.

Fiercely loyal to family and tribe, they live by a strong code of honor. Red Sea developers took the Bedouin’s best land and now they struggle to maintain their traditions – and scratch a living out of the desert sands.

Her name is Omm Ahmed. She has no idea how old she is. Her three sons have taken jobs at nearby Red Sea resorts – one has even earned enough to buy a truck. He sends his two sons to spend weekends with their grandmother in the hopes that she will teach them the Bedouin way of life before it is completely lost. Omm Ahmed is happy to put them both to work raising pigeons and herding goats. Though she may be more innovative than anyone gave her credit for.

Recently, she cut an unusual deal to use her goats in an entirely new role – recycling garbage.
HEPCA delivers trash from the tourist resorts along the Red Sea and the goats get down to business. They eat everything – from grass clippings to toilet paper. Nothing seems to phase them.

Is there any corner of this world that Western garbage hasn’t reached?

While the goats are making short work of anything organic, the Bedouin scoop up all the recyclable. Even though it’s over a 105 degrees.

It’s a hard life. But in some ways, Ohm Ahmed is actually better off than she was before. The income from recycling allows her to buy all-important water containers for her flock. Coolers for herself, a refrigerator, and clothes.

Most importantly, her grandchildren are going to school. Though in the process, she has given up the safety of her nomadic life for an uncertain future.

Every time there’s unrest in far-away Cairo, Hurghada’s tourist industry comes to a crashing halt. Hotel occupancy can drop as low as three percent. Fewer tourists mean less trash and less income for the Bedouin -but also less damage to the reefs.

Revolution may be bad for the economy, but it’s good for the fish.

They Still Live In Caves! | Exploring the Bedouins of Petra Jordan ????????

►Pimsleur Language Course 7 day FREE trial:

Petra, an ancient city in the South of Jordan ????????, dating 150 BC has had Bedouins living inside caves for generations. Bedouins are a specific group of nomadic Arab people, and their culture is beautiful.

Bedouins are known for their skills with Camels ????, their food, and hospitality, and if you ever go to Petra or any Middle Eastern deserts, North Africa, or the Arabian Peninsula and you explore a little, you are very likely to run into some of them, and they will 100% make you drink tea ☕️❤️

Petra has increasingly become more and more touristic because it is shockingly spectacular, especially because of the culture of the Bedouin people who inhabit this Indiana Jones world.

Like any tourist place, Petra has changed. The first big change came when King Hussein of Jordan removed most Beduins living in Petra and replaced them to a village nearby, with the goal of emptying Petra to make it touristic. And it worked.

Many tourists and now influencers since then have discovered this amazing place. Few Bedouin families still live inside, renting camels and selling souvenirs to tourists, and they are clearly the spirit of Petra. Lovely, peaceful and friendly people with huge hearts.

Sadly, in the last few months, there have been attempts to remove the last living bedouins from their caves, because some people believe that Petra should have no one living inside. And in my opinion, this is the biggest mistake, and I want to help them spread the word. If the authorities see that tourists appreciate the presence of Bedouins inside the city then they most likely won't keep trying to remove them, that’s why I am using #KeepPetraAlive to spread the word.

Thank you to every one of you who helped me make this video, you guys are amazing ????❤️???????? And I hope to be back soon

EATING CAMEL ???? Oman's Best Kept Secret ????????????

Oman 2023 Travel: A Journey to the East

We are going to explore the local cuisine of Oman and try something truly unique - camel meat! When traveling to foreign places like the Middle East, it's important to step out of your comfort zone and experience the local culture and traditions.

We venture into a traditional Omani restaurant in Muscat and mix with the locals, sitting on the floor and feasting on camel meat stew. Camel meat is highly prized in Oman for its rich flavor and tender texture, with a slightly nutty and earthy taste. We also learn that the hump is the most prized part of the animal, which is tender and fattier than the rest.

I recommend trying this dish for yourself if you ever find yourself in Muscat, and be sure to pair it with some hot bread, rice, tomato chutney, and yogurt. It's an unforgettable experience that's not to be missed.

The Ultimate SAUDI ARABIAN FOOD Tour in Riyadh!! 5 Best Restaurants You Can't Miss!

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA - Welcome to Riyadh, the biggest city in Saudi Arabia and home to diverse people, and some incredibly delicious food. Today I’m taking you on an ultimate local Saudi Arabian food tour of Riyadh, we’ll be eating some of the greatest dishes, food you don’t want to miss!

Here are all the locations featured in this food review:

1. Fawal Abo Salem ( - We’re beginning this Saudi Arabian food tour in Riyadh with a staple breakfast - ful - mashed fava beans that likely originate in Egypt, but are widely popular throughout the entire region. Ful medames at Fawal Abo Salem for breakfast is some of the best in the entire city - and I was blown away by the quality and flavor, paired with the freshly baked bread.

2. Camel liver - I’m not totally sure of the name of this place, but they are famous for their fried camel liver, sauteed down with onions and peppers. It’s truly tasty, right off the hot griddle with fresh bread and a dash of hot sauce.

3. Alnaqaa Falafel & Hummus ( - To eat the best Falafel and Hummus and Riyadh, you have to go to Alnaqaa - it’s absolutely legendary, and it felt as though I was right back on the streets of Beirut. One of their specialties is a giant falafel stuffed with caramelized onions. And make sure you order the entire falafel mountain!

4. Kebda Restaurant ( - This Riyadh food tour is not complete with only camel liver - another popular liver to eat is lamb liver, and this time it’s not served on a plate, but with bread, sandwich style. Some of the tastiest lamb liver you’ll ever try!

5. Sudah Restaurant ( - To begin this food tour and to end this food tour, it was a privilege to spend some time at Sudah Restaurant to learn about Haneed, an Arabian food that at this restaurant originates from Aseer Province. They still make it the traditional way, loading parted out young lambs into an underground oven, layered with a specific type of hay that holds in the moisture and gives a distinct fragrance. The result is smokey lamb served over a mountain of rice, that literally melts in your mouth with the smoky fragrance of the hay. It was an unforgettable meal experience in Saudi Arabia!

And that wraps up this ultimate Saudi Arabian food tour in Riyadh, what a day of delicious food.

Thank you to Visit Saudi Arabia for arranging my food trip to Saudi Arabia!

Famous Mazbi and Maajeen, Oman's most delicious street foods that you must try in Salalah

#mrtaster #mazbi #streetfood

Mazbi, Maajeen and shawarma with camel meat were one of the most delicious Omani dishes I ate in Salalah, also seeing the unique nature of Salalah with its beautiful waterfalls and the pleasant weather really surprised us.
Salalah is the capital of Dhofar province in the south of Oman, a port city that consists of two dry mountainous areas in the north and forest and coastal areas in the south, which have numerous and very spectacular waterfalls with pleasant weather that was really peaceful. After arriving in Salalah, we chose the luxurious and five-star Alila Hotel to stay in, which they gave us a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. It was a well-equipped and luxurious hotel with complete and unique facilities, and we had a great time here. They have different sections such as the restaurant, sports club, spa and also very comfortable and beautiful rooms and suites where you can see a panoramic view of the green garden of the hotel or the sea. They also have a very detailed breakfast menu from various drinks and dishes such as eggs benedict, omelette, hash brown and other items.

In Salalah, Oman, people have a strange interest in camel meat, and we found out about this when we went to Ittine area to taste Omani street food. In almost all of Dhofar were Street Foods and restaurants. Bin Amer restaurant was the place where we decided to try mazbi, maajeen and shawarma with camel meat and several other types of kebabs, such as the camel tikka kebab, which was similar to the Bahraini Tikka kebab that I had eaten before in Manama. But here it was made with camel meat and it was very delicious. The steak with camel meat, was somehow similar to wagyu meat when the meat was cut, and the fat streaks of the meat could be seen, and it was very delicious.
Mazbi, the dish I called chicken and meat stone kebab is actually chicken, lamb and lamb head cooked on hot stones and it is very delicious. They marinate the chicken or mutton and place them on hot stones and cover it with hot stones, it's almost like making our Sangak bread, and I must say that the taste is a masterpiece. Maajeen is another famous dish of Salalah, which is made with camel meat and camel fat. The camel meat is kept for ten hours on the bars above the oven until the meat dries up and then it is cut. The camel fats are turned into oil in a separate pot and then both are mixed together, they let it stay overnight until it is ready. It was absolutely unique. They even cook a whole lamb on the heat of the fire, and it is interesting to know that it's eaten with honey and tastes extremely delicious.

Exotic OMANI FOOD at CAMEL MEAT RESTAURANT!! 5+ Camel Dishes + Hot Springs around Muscat, Oman!!

????OMAN TRAVELS:
???? MY TRAVEL/FOOD BLOG:

I couldn’t explore the beautiful city of Muscat without dining on one of Oman’s top specialties: camel meat! Come with me as I have an unbelievable experience at a camel meat restaurant!

We’d have it all in an authentic setting and then go on a hike to a hot spring! First up, my guides Ahmed and Hussain took off our shoes and headed inside. In the kitchens, we saw four types of rice and lots of camel meat!

???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH:

The camel meat slow-cooking in gravy looked unbelievable. It’s the entire camel, including tender meat and big chunks of fat! All of the rice dishes also contained camel fat. Each one looked different!

There was also fried camel, camel soup with bones, and camel with vegetables. I tried a bit of tasty camel fat and the meat. It was gamy and lean, and very flavorful!

We got a bit of all five different rices and four different types of camel, some camel broth, and a salad. The camel with salt had a tender consistency and was very lean.

We also had camel with gravy, stir-fried camel with peppers, and camel with onions. The one with onions had a bit of sweetness to it, and the camel with gravy was like a delicious camel curry. I loved the cardamom in it!

The camel stir-fry contained bell peppers, onions, and chilies. It elt earthier and I really liked the bell pepper in it. The camel broth was also insanely flavorful. Then, we added the different camel dishes on top of the rice.

The camel fat almost reminded me of bacon. Hussain had to try it since he’d never had it before, but he didn’t like it. I loved adding the light tomato sauce to the platter. My favorite was definitely the rich camel in gravy!

I also really enjoyed the rice soaked in camel fat. It was so rich! Then, we added the salad as our friend Ahmed joined us. And finally, we laid back on the pillows to rest before we left.

From there, we drove outside of Muscat through the beautiful, rocky dessert terrain. I changed into my bathing suit in the car and Ahmed and I got out and hiked through a village.

It felt like I was hiking through somewhere in Africa! We saw the irrigation channels the villagers use for their crops. Then, we continued through private properties and past palm trees. It was so quiet and peaceful.

Finally, we clambered over some rocks and made it to the spring. There were a lot of sharp rocks around, so you have to be careful. I hit my head on one! Then, we jumped into the water. It was hot and relaxing!

There are even small fish in the water who nibble at your feet. It’s the free version of the experience you pay for in Thailand!

???? ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.

If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.
