'The Privileged' Store in North Korea - Part 1

====================================================
Ok, so this is my 46th video that I uploaded, many people asked me..
How could you upload youtube video in NK?.
He uploads the video after he back to Indonesia, because he didn't dare if he upload directly from NK.
Nope..that is not entirely True..

#jakaparker #northkorea #koreautara

The answer is..

I already back to Indonesia, and currently I live in Indonesia..
My first 23 videos was uploaded when I was in North Korea.

The most different thing that when I uploaded video in NK, for a 15 minute video needed two days to upload, because the internet there was unstable due to electricity on off several times in a day..I can’t subscribe for cellular internet mobile because its way too expensive and..not reliable too...
but..when in Indonesia, I can choose which provider for internet and to upload a 15 minute video need only few minutes...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK..
back to this video..
I was going to a store which was located inside the Diplomatic Compound in Munsu District, behind Vietnam Embassy (you can check it out in Google Maps)
Sure..because these videos is about my daily life in NK...so I only posted about my routines things that I am doing in NK).

This store named Pyongyang Shop, which only several people who can access inside, only Foreigners and local Korean people who can get permission to be inside Diplomatic Compound (usually Korean people who works for foreign Organisations and embassies).

Btw.. sorry for bad English and Korean..

Any viewers who understand Korean language might be laughing hearing me trying to make conversations with the locals..please pardon me.

The Luxury Store in North Korea

This shop is called Rakwon Dept. Store, one of the fancy stores located in North Korea. 90% of products sold here are foreign products, and the price is quite 'classy'. One time I took my daughters to buy toys at this store, and my kids chose expensive toys, I refused to buy it and distract them to buy cheaper toys, then the chaos ensued. Lol

North Korean Auto Dealership

North Korea appears to have its own auto manufacturer. On a recent visit to the country, we toured the company's salesroom in Pyongyang. It was hard to discern what was real and what wasn't.

NORTH KOREA STREET FOOD

READ THE DESCRIPTION! ????

In this video I go to a street food stall on Bugsae Street in Pyongyang. I don't buy many types of food, because we are Muslims, my wife and I try to be careful in choosing food. We only buy food that contains vegetables or seafood or rice and flour.

She Escaped North Korea (to America). Crazy Story.

Today in Chicago, I had the pleasure to meet a young North Korean girl named Evelyn. 6 years ago, when she was 15 years Evelyn, she escaped North Korea with her mother for a better life. Both without passports, they spent 1 month traveling by foot across China, Laos and Thailand - where the South Korean government officially recognized her as a refugee and she was granted permission to migrate to the United States of America.

In this eye-opening interview, Evelyn tells me her escape story and how she has managed to integrate so well into American society. She lives all by herself and just bought her first car (with her hard-earned income!).

???? The Strange Land of North Korea (DPRK) ????

⛄ NORTHEAST PASSAGE ON ICEBREAKER ???? -
This is a film about a traveller in the strange land called North Korea or officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Tours to the DPRK are tightly scheduled and normally include a visit to the demilitarised zone, museums and statues to Kim Il-Sung and Kim Jong-Il, Pyongyang’s amusements parks, chandelier-laden metro system and showcase entertainment facilities such as the Circus and the SchoolChildren's Palace. In addition to these, I took a flightseeing flight on a Mi-17 helicopter over the DPRK's capital city of Pyongyang. As well, as my tour was an extended one, it also went the northeast of the DPRK to the tri-country area around the Rason Special Economic Zone where the DPRK, China and Russia conjoin.

The cult of the Kims is perhaps the most extraordinary feature of the DPRK. Images or statues of Kim Il-Sung and Kim Jong-Il are found everywhere. These graven images are effectively worshipped. This film shows scenes of the veneration of the Kims (Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il) that were witnessed.

The government guides control both what you can see and also what you can take photographs of. If you take a photograph of the military, construction or something that they feel does not portray the DPRK in a positive light then they force you to delete the photograph. On exiting the country, the border guards also reviewed photographs to see if they conformed to the aforementioned standards. Despite these restrictions, this film contains images that accurately portray the state of the country as I saw it.

Inside Korea's Largest Illegal Slum, Guryong Village ????????

???? GANGNAM, SEOUL: Guryong village is an illegal shanty town built in 1988, located in the Gangnam district. In 1988, South Korea held the summer olympics, but it was also the year the government set out to eliminate past vestiges of authoritarian rule and make the government more democratic. Freedom of the press was expanded, university autonomy recognised, and restrictions on overseas travels were lifted. Before 1988, it was extremely hard for Koreans to obtain a passport!

1988 was a prosperous year, and a turning point for the country. However, it also displaced a lot of poor people from their homes. Koreans were evicted from houses in low-income areas that were demolished during the city's rapid development for the 1988 Olympic Games. They came to Guryong village as their last refuge.

Life of Kim Jong Un. How the Rich Live in North Korea?

#kimjongun, #northkorea, #dictatorship
You may have heard that North Korea is the country of nonsense. People live extremely poor life, there is no proper medicine, social services are at a very poor level, tourism is close to impossible. Though, not all people in DPRK live like that. We all know at least one family that lives quite a luxurious life without showing off a lot.

Can you imagine how hard it is for some of them to lose all those chances for highly enviable Instagram pictures showing their exquisite life?

Today we’ll look at Kim Jong Un’s life and try to reveal every bit of information we know about his wealth and his lifestyle. That may seem to be easy, but as you probably know Forbes doesn’t cover the life of North Korean leaders.
