Buckingham Palace to Westminster Station ( London Eye, Big Ben) ???????? - Walking Tour [4K]

Walking tour of Buckingham Palace to Westminster Station ( London Eye, Big Ben) way. Recorded while visiting Westminster Area of London during my visit to the UK. The distance between Buckingham Palace is 1.3km by walk, which takes around 15 minutes to cover.

Westminster is a district in Central London, part of the wider City of Westminster. The area, which extends from the River Thames to Oxford Street has many visitor attractions and historic landmarks, including the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, and much of the West End shopping and entertainment district. Westminster has been the home of England's government since about 1200 and from 1707 the Government of the United Kingdom. Westminster often refers to the Parliament of the United Kingdom, in the Palace of Westminster.

Buckingham Palace, London - Things to Do in London

And who out there do not know about Buckingham Palace or do not even have it already written down among the different London attractions that they would visit when they travel to this beautiful city? Almost no one!

There are different reasons behind visiting Buckingham Palace in London; it might be for checking this old building in general, it might be for visiting the London residence and administrative headquarters of the monarch of the United Kingdom and it could be for watching the change of the Guards that happens there; every single person might have different interests but eventually all the travelers heading to this city will have to stop by Buckingham Palace at some point of their lives.

Buckingham Palace is located in the City of Westminster which was originally known as Buckingham House. The palace is often at the center of state occasions and royal hospitality and it has been a focal point for the British people at times of national rejoicing and mourning.

The story of this palace started back in 1703 when it was serving as a townhouse that was built for the Duke of Buckingham on a site that had been in private ownership for at least 150 years. After this long period of time, the palace was acquired by King George III in 1761 as a private residence for Queen Charlotte and since then became known as the Queen's House and it is believed that this was the start of this palace which we are living around these days.

Buckingham Palace of London became the residence of the British monarch on the accession of Queen Victoria back in 1837 and from that point, the stories started to appear and all those people attracted to the palace started to visit it occasionally and consider it one of the top London attractions that tourists should never forget to pass by and check how it looks like in real.

During all those years since the appearance of Buckingham Palace, there were some renovations and additions done to it and the last ones were done in the 19th and 20th centuries and which included the addition of the east front with the famous well-known balcony on which the royal family traditionally congregates to greet the crowds standing outside.

The decoration of the palace from inside is not all the same, some rooms might be decorated in a specific way while others might be decorated in the Chinese way for example. What might sometimes take people by surprise is the number of rooms which are found inside the palace and which are believed to be 775 rooms as well as the garden which is the largest private garden in all of London. Buckingham Palace is not open for the public to come inside all year long but the state rooms which are used for official and state entertaining are open to the public each year in August and September and also on specific days in winter and spring - so it is usually all about visiting the area and checking the palace from the outside.

While we were wondering how all these different rooms are situated inside the palace, we realized that every single one inside the place is serving in a specific kind of way. Inside the palace and from all those 775 rooms, there are 19 state rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms, this should be enough to answer all those questions going in your mind about the number of the rooms found inside.

Today, Buckingham Palace is much of a working space where many royal events and ceremonies from entertaining foreign Head of States to celebrating achievement at Investitures and receptions take place. Every single year, more than 50,000 guests visit Buckingham Palace to attend State banquets, dinners, lunches, receptions and Garden parties. Her Majesty also holds weekly audiences with the Prime Minister and receives newly appointed foreign Ambassadors at the palace - so almost everything happens in this building.

The history of the palace's balcony is a long one and since Queen Victoria appeared on it during the celebrations for the opening of the Great Exhibition, it became one of the famous things related to this palace and where the royal family tends to appear during specific occasions to welcome all those guests who are standing out there.

We have been to Buckingham Palace during our visit to London but we also managed to make a tour around the city in order to visit the most important and well known attractions. From those which we have been to already, we paid a visit to London Eye ( we went to the location of Big Ben ( we passed by Chinatown ( and we also went to the Natural History Museum ( and we would recommend those to the people coming later without removing any from the list.

Are you ready to visit Buckingham Palace in London and see this Royal place where the family tends to greet its people from?

Buckingham Palace from inside Exclusive SHOTS.flv

Buckingham Palace has served as the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837 and today is the administrative headquarters of the Monarch.

Although in use for the many official events and receptions held by The Queen, the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open to visitors every year. For visitor information, please visit the Royal Collection website.

Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms. These include 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. In measurements, the building is 108 metres long across the front, 120 metres deep (including the central quadrangle) and 24 metres high.

The Palace is very much a working building and the centrepiece of Britain's constitutional monarchy. It houses the offices of those who support the day-to-day activities and duties of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh and their immediate family.

The Palace is also the venue for great Royal ceremonies, State Visits and Investitures, all of which are organised by the Royal Household.

Although Buckingham Palace is furnished and decorated with priceless works of art that form part of the Royal Collection, one of the major art collections in the world today. It is not an art gallery and nor is it a museum.

Its State Rooms form the nucleus of the working Palace and are used regularly by The Queen and members of the Royal Family for official and State entertaining.

More than 50,000 people visit the Palace each year as guests to banquets, lunches, dinners, receptions and the Royal Garden Parties.

For those who do receive an invitation to Buckingham Palace, the first step across the threshold is into the Grand Hall and up the curving marble stairs of the Grand Staircase. Portraits are still set in the walls, as they were by Queen Victoria.

The Throne Room, sometimes used during Queen Victoria's reign for Court gatherings and as a second dancing room, is dominated by a proscenium arch supported by a pair of winged figures of 'victory' holding garlands above the 'chairs of state'.

It is in the Throne Room that The Queen, on very special occasions like Jubilees, receives loyal addresses. Another use of the Throne Room has been for formal wedding photographs.

George IV's original palace lacked a large room in which to entertain. Queen Victoria rectified that shortcoming by adding in 1853-5 what was, at the time of its construction, the largest room in London.

At 36.6m long, 18m wide and 13.5m high, the Ballroom is the largest multi-purpose room in Buckingham Palace. It was opened in 1856 with a ball to celebrate the end of the Crimean War.

It is along the East Gallery that The Queen and her State guests process to the Ballroom for the State Banquet normally held on the first day of the visit.

Around 150 guests are invited and include members of the Royal Family, the government and other political leaders, High Commissioners and Ambassadors and prominent people who have trade or other associations with the visiting country.

Today, it is used by The Queen for State banquets and other formal occasions such as the annual Diplomatic Reception attended by 1,500 guests.

This is a very formal occasion during which The Queen will meet every head of mission accredited to the Court of St James's. For the diplomats it is perhaps the highlight of the annual diplomatic social calendar.

The Ballroom has been used variously as a concert hall for memorial concerts and performances of the arts and it is the regular venue for Investitures of which there are usually 21 a year - nine in spring, two in the summer and ten in the autumn.

At Investitures, The Queen (or The Prince of Wales as Her Majesty's representative) will meet recipients of British honours and give them their awards, including knighting those who have been awarded knighthoods.

From the Ballroom, the West Gallery, with its four Gobelin tapestries, leads into the first of the great rooms that overlook lawn and the formal gardens - setting for the annual Garden Parties introduced by Queen Victoria in 1868.

Exploring Buckingham Palace: A Virtual Tour of the British Royal Residence #gooblet

Welcome to Gooblet Earth Studio! Today, we're going to take you on a virtual tour of one of the most iconic landmarks in the United Kingdom - Buckingham Palace. This magnificent palace has served as the official residence of the British monarch since the 18th century and is considered to be one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world. Let's take a closer look.
Buckingham Palace was originally known as Buckingham House, a modest townhouse built for the Duke of Buckingham in 1703. It was later acquired by King George III in 1761 as a private residence for Queen Charlotte. In the early 19th century, King George IV commissioned architect John Nash to redesign and expand the building, transforming it into the palace we know today. Since then, successive monarchs have made further additions and renovations to the palace, including the famous balcony where members of the royal family appear during public events.
The palace boasts an impressive facade of Neoclassical architecture, characterized by its grand columns, ornate balconies, and intricate moldings. The palace has a total of 775 rooms, including 19 state rooms, 52 royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, and 92 offices. The palace also features several impressive halls and corridors, such as the Grand Staircase, the Marble Hall, and the Picture Gallery, which houses one of the most extensive collections of art in the world.

Buckingham Palace plays a vital role in the British monarchy's traditions and ceremonies. The Changing of the Guard, a popular tourist attraction, takes place daily outside the palace. This ceremony involves the handover of responsibilities between the old and new guards who are responsible for protecting the monarch. The palace also hosts various royal events throughout the year, such as state banquets, garden parties, and investitures.

Buckingham Palace has its own post office, cinema, and swimming pool.
The palace has its own flag, which is raised when the Queen is in residence.
The palace is also home to several valuable collections, including the royal jewelry collection and the royal stamp collection.
The palace gardens are home to over 350 different species of wildflowers and are open to the public during the summer months.

Thank you for joining us on this virtual tour of Buckingham Palace. We hope you enjoyed learning about the palace's history, architecture,

ICONIC BUCKINGHAM PALACE WALK 4K VIRTUAL TOUR: SEP. 2020 UK LONDON CITY GREEN PARK BUCKINGHAM PALACE

SEP. 2020
UK LONDON CITY BUCKINGHAM PALACE WALK 4K VIRTUAL TOUR:
GREEN PARK TO BUCKINGHAM PALACE

Buckingham Palace (UK: /ˈbʌkɪŋəm/[1][2]) is the London residence and administrative headquarters of the monarch of the United Kingdom.[a][3] Located in the City of Westminster, the palace is often at the centre of state occasions and royal hospitality. It has been a focal point for the British people at times of national rejoicing and mourning.

Originally known as Buckingham House, the building at the core of today's palace was a large townhouse built for the Duke of Buckingham in 1703 on a site that had been in private ownership for at least 150 years. It was acquired by King George III in 1761[4] as a private residence for Queen Charlotte and became known as The Queen's House. During the 19th century it was enlarged, principally by architects John Nash and Edward Blore, who constructed three wings around a central courtyard. Buckingham Palace became the London residence of the British monarch on the accession of Queen Victoria in 1837.

The last major structural additions were made in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including the East Front, which contains the well-known balcony on which the royal family traditionally congregates to greet crowds. A German bomb destroyed the palace chapel during World War II; the Queen's Gallery was built on the site and opened to the public in 1962 to exhibit works of art from the Royal Collection.

The original early 19th-century interior designs, many of which survive, include widespread use of brightly coloured scagliola and blue and pink lapis, on the advice of Sir Charles Long. King Edward VII oversaw a partial redecoration in a Belle Époque cream and gold colour scheme. Many smaller reception rooms are furnished in the Chinese regency style with furniture and fittings brought from the Royal Pavilion at Brighton and from Carlton House. The palace has 775 rooms, and the garden is the largest private garden in London.
