We Did NOT EXPECT this in Kingstown | St. Vincent and The Grenadines | Travel Vlog 2021

We love watching sleeping towns/cities wake up. We would arrive early, watch businesses open, eat, shop, and just watch how everyday living unfolds. This is the first time we’ve decided to film it. We did not expect little Kingstown to get so busy so fast. Let us know what you think. Do you find it as interesting as we do?

15 Caribbean Countries, How Did They Get Their Names? (Part 1)

Do you ever wonder how Caribbean Countries got their names? The origin of a country’s name can tell a lot about the country’s identity, culture, and history and it is even more interesting how the names of countries evolved over the years as these names were twisted, contorted, translated, and misconstrued. Lands were conquered, handed over, and repopulated. In Part 2 of this series, watch How These 11 Caribbean Territories & Departments Got Their Names (Part 2)

The history of Grenada. Grenada documentary. World Of Knowledge

Grenada is an island country in the West Indies in the Caribbean Sea at the southern end of the Grenadines island chain.

Grenada consists of the island of Grenada itself, two smaller islands, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, and several small islands which lie to the north of the main island and are a part of the Grenadines.

It is located northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, northeast of Venezuela and southwest of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Its size is 348.5 square kilometres , and it had an estimated population of 112,523 in July 2020.

Grenada is also known as the Island of Spice due to its production of nutmeg and mace crops.

Before the arrival of Europeans in the Americas, Grenada was inhabited by the indigenous Arawaks and later by the Island Caribs.

Christopher Columbus sighted Grenada in 1498 during his third voyage to the Americas.

Following several unsuccessful attempts by Europeans to colonise the island due to resistance from the Island Caribs, French settlement and colonisation began in 1650 and continued for the next century.

On 10 February 1763, Grenada was ceded to the British under the Treaty of Paris.

British rule continued until 1974 .

From 1958 to 1962 Grenada was part of the Federation of the West Indies, a short-lived federation of British West Indian colonies.

On 3 March 1967, it was granted full autonomy over its internal affairs as an associated state.

We Found Paradise in St. Vincent and the Grenadines | Union Island

#Wefoundparadise #Unionisland #mopionisland #stvincent #Stvincentandthegrenadines

Just want to inform you We Found Paradise in St. Vincent and the Grenadines | Union Island.

That’s right, we are still Island hopping and having a blast. In the last video, we visit the tiny Island of Mayreau where only 300 people live. Now we are visiting Union Island. We go on a boat tour to visit Mopion Island. It’s the most beautiful place. The island just houses an umbrella in the middle of it. We enjoyed swimming in the beautiful pristine waters. We even enjoyed a delicious lunch. After 3 hours of hanging out at Mopion Island, we left. Our next stop was Petit St. Vincent, and we passed Palm Island. Before heading back to Union Island, we stopped by Happy Island for a drink. We had a smoothie and met the owner of happy Island. What an unforgettable day!!

Hope you enjoyed Island hopping with us!

► WHO WE ARE?

We are Gladys & Kenny, from Long Island, NY. We've always had a passion for traveling. We finally made our dreams a reality. In January 2018 we downsized and take the necessary steps to pursue our dream, to travel full time for as long as we can. We rented our house, moved into our attached studio apartment, and continued to travel on a part-time basis until it prepared us for full-time travel. On June 30, 2019, we left to travel the world full-time. The first stop was Bali, Indonesia. It wasn't a simple decision to leave our friends and family. However, you only live once and we didn't want to live with any regrets. We want to document our journey, so we recently did so with vlogs on YouTube and Social Media.
Join us. It's been one crazy ride so far.

Caribbean Coat of Arms And Their Meanings

The national coat of arms of each Caribbean country is a series of elements, organized in distinct oval places on top of each other with the motto of our country that denotes a rebirth of an independent state.

It forms a heraldic achievement and a national emblem that represents the identity of our land and its people and oftentimes symbolizes our source of power, courage, confidence, pride, willpower, and the source and ultimate wholeness of our existence.
