2 NIGHTS OMAN-MUSANDAM KHASAB-KHOR NAJD-JEBEL AL HARIM-DHOW CRUISE-OFF ROADING IN NISSAN ALTIMA
Hello ????
So i was just waiting for my annual leave to go to oman ???????? my leave started on dec 9th.
While preparing for oman trip i was checking passport , visa, vaccination ,pcr And I found my daughter’s passport is expiring with in 1 month and for travel we need 6 months validity so i cancelled the plan and same time i went for passport renewal which i was expecting will take more than two weeks but surprisingly we got the passport with in 6,7 days.
Then i was confuse about kids vaccination because they just received 1st dose.
So I asked my friends I started checking on websites but didn’t found any details about kids vaccination its written everywhere that you must be fully vaccinated
What about the kids. ?
Then finally got positive answer from one travel agent. That kids don’t need PCR test and vaccination.
So me and my wife went for pcr test in afternoon which cost 50 aed near ajman city centre and next day morning 4 am we received the negative results and 16 dec morning around 9:30 am we started our journey.
I am using trivago , trivago is a hotel price comparison site with an extensive hotel search. So I found a good deal on Agoda.
400 aed 2 nights with breakfast (hotel khasab)
I took the pcr test results hard copy
And thats it
We reached at border around 11 am
They asked me to show vaccination Card for me and wife and pcr tests for both.
And 31 Aed per person for crossing the border.
And they asked me about my car papers to check that its on my name.
And thats it done from UAE ???????? border and entered in oman ???????? border
There they gave me a form to fill in which you have to fill your passport details
After that they asked me about vaccination cards and pcr test results and car papers
Then they asked me about car oman insurance and my car insurance doesn’t cover oman so they said me to do car insurance for oman so i went outside and in parking there is a insurance company office so i did the car insurance for oman which cost 115 aed for 5 days.
Came back to immigration office and showed them insurance papers and got the visa which is valid for 28 days single entry.
And thats it i entered in oman with in 10 to 15 mins actually i was alone there.
I stayed there for 2 nights and while coming back they didn’t asked me about pcr test and at UAE border they check my pcr test which was more then 48 hours and after checking my results they gave me a paper on which was written 14 days thats it. So i think pcr test which i did in UAE was valid for 14 day I didn’t did any pcr test in oman.
I was looking for dhow cruise and mountain safari which i found expensive
I checked 2 travel agents.
300 aed cruise 500 safari
So I asked them which area we will go for mountain safari and they told me jebel al harim and khor najd
I checked on google map and i found that for both spots i don’t need 4x4.
So i went in my car Nissan altima 2.5 ,2003 model USA ????????.
We reached hotel around 2:30 pm
From border to khasab musandam is 25,30 mins drive but I stopped a lot for videos and pictures.
So I checked in hotel. 3:30 pm came out and went for jebel al harim google map was showing 1 hour from hotel to top and yes I reached at the top around 4:45 to 5 pm because i stopped for pictures and videography.
At the top there is military check post and one more road is going straight towards UAE wadi bih ras al khaimah near jebel jais
So i just turned back from military check post
View was amazing ???? but i don’t think so we can do camping there because its a military area.
Next day morning i went to khor najd Which is also near from hotel it was 25 mins far and my hotel was near khasab airport which is in city. View was amazing from the top.
After that i went for dhow cruise ???? which was 100 aed per person for half day which was from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Outside it was 150 aed per person
But the hotel in which i was staying they booked for me in 100 aed per person kids under 5 free ????with transport so 1:25 pm i came on reception and one guy was waiting for me ???? and we went for dhow cruise.
5:30 came back and on reception i told them am feeling hungry please order something for me from outside and they order mandi for me which cost 20 aed and with in 20 mins madi came in room.
Next day morning after breakfast i did the checkout.
And yes I downloaded the offline map of musandam khasab
I didn’t changed the currency
I didn’t brought the sim card
Before crossing the border i filled the fuel
And while coming back again i filled it which was half.
One full tank is enough if you are not going to jebel harim.
Don’t forget to Download the Google map

Jebel al-Harim or Jebel Hareem i.e. “Mountain of Women” also known as Jebel as-Sayh is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.087m above the sea level located in the Musandam Peninsula of Oman. There is a history behind the naming Mountain of Women and you may google for it.
The road to the summit is gravel, rocky and steep. On the peak, there is military tower. Hence, actually it is not possible to reach to the top.
