Die wohl bekannteste Stadt am Gardasee ist Sirmione, der touristische Hotspot schlechthin. Auf einer Halbinsel erstreckt sich die romantisch verwinkelte Altstadt weit in den See hinein. In der Hauptsaison kann es in den engen Gassen sehr voll werden, deshalb am besten früh morgens oder am späten Nachmittag kommen. Beeindruckend ist die Scaligerburg, eine gut erhaltene Festungsanlage mit Zugbrücke am Eingang der Altstadt. Berühmt ist Sirmione für seine Thermalquellen. Mitten auf der Halbinsel gibt es einen Parkhügel mit der Villa von Opern-Legende Maria Callas – abseits vom Trubel, in einer Oase der Ruhe.
Wer es ebenfalls ruhiger mag, der ist auch in Gardone Riviera am Westufer des Gardasees richtig. Direkt am Seeufer gibt es zahlreiche Parks und Gärten. Highlight ist der Botanische Garten Hruska mit Pflanzen aus fünf Kontinenten. Manche Italienliebhaber aus Deutschland haben sich hier ein zweites Domizil geschaffen.
Sehr beliebt ist Malcesine im Nordosten des Sees. Auch hier hört man im Sommer in den mittelalterlichen Straßen und Gassen sehr viel Deutsch. Und auch hier gibt es eine Scaligerburg, von deren Turm man einen atemberaubenden Blick über den See hat. Von Malcesine aus hat man alle Möglichkeiten für Abenteuer in der Natur.
Surfen, Segeln, Wasserski – auf dem Gardasee kommen Wasserratten voll auf ihre Kosten. Urlauber können hier auch ohne einen Bootsführerschein Motorboote mieten. Wer dabei nicht in seinem Element ist, der macht sich auf zum höchsten Berg am See, dem Monte Baldo (2.218 Meter). Hier finden Wanderer, Kletterer und Mountainbiker viele Routen mit unterschiedlichen Schwierigkeitsgraden, und im Winter kann man sogar Skifahren.
Wer den See typisch italienisch erleben möchte, kann sich einen Motorroller leihen und im Fahrtwind Landschaft und Ausblicke genießen. Eine besondere Herausforderung – auch mit dem Auto – ist dabei die Strada della Forra. Die spektakuläre Bergstraße an der Westküste schlängelt sich durch die Felsen auf 423 Höhenmeter. Berühmt wurde diese schmale und kurvenreiche Straße durch die Anfangsszenen aus dem James Bond-Film Ein Quantum Trost.
Fisch ist am See natürlich ein Muss. Dazu gibt es eine Vielzahl von Weinen aus der Region, wie zum Beispiel Bardolino und Lugana. Auch Olivenöl wird hier hergestellt, und in der Stadt Limone mit ihren Zitronengärten kann man mit einem Limoncino-Likör anstoßen. Und handgemachte Pasta mit traditionellen Zutaten und nach Geheimrezepten der Familie ist eine Versuchung, der man auf keinen Fall widerstehen sollte.

Limone sul Garda ist eine italienische Gemeinde am Westufer des Gardasees in der Provinz Brescia in der Lombardei. Die an der Gardesana Occidentale liegende Gemeinde hat 1141 Einwohner (Stand 31. Dezember 2022). Das ursprüngliche Fischerdorf ist ein Touristenort mit vielen modernen Hotels und Ferienwohnungen. In Limone befinden sich die beiden Häfen Porto Vecchio und Porto Nuovo.
Der Name Limone leitet sich wahrscheinlich nicht, wie oft angenommen, von den umliegenden Zitronenhainen ab, sondern vom lateinischen Wort limes (Grenze). Denn einst endete in Limone die Republik Venedig. Trotzdem wird dort hauptsächlich das „Zitronen-Image“ vermarktet

Dunkelblaues Wasser, silbrig-schimmernde Olivenhaine, sattgrüne Palmen und mediterrane Blütenpracht am Fuße der Alpen. Der Gardasee begeistert die Besucher schon seit Goethes Zeiten durch seinen südlichen Zauber.
Die Reise führt im Norden zu den Städtchen Riva, Torbole und den imposanten Skaligerburgen von Malcesine und Torri del Benaco sowie nach Limone. Ausflüge entdecken die Provinzhauptstadt Trento, das Kastell von Arco und den mächtigen Monte Baldo.
Im Osten liegen Garda und Bardolino umgeben von lieblichen Weinbergen. Von Lazise führt ein Abstecher nach Verona und seiner berühmten Arena. Ebenso sehenswert: die prächtigen Paläste von Mantua.

Located on the western shore of Lake Garda, Limone sul Garda is immersed in a lush Mediterranean landscape and is among the most admired and visited places of the lake by lovers of sport, relaxation and nature. The particularly mild climate throughout the year has made it famous for the production of citrus fruits, grown since 1700 in the typical lemon houses, still in operation and open to the public.
Visit the picturesque alleys of the old town, relax on its Promenade full of flowers and palm trees, enjoy an aperitif and a delicious dinner by the lake. There is no shortage of taste, the traditional dishes are appetizing and genuine, based on fish and PDO extra virgin olive oil, and toasts are made with excellent wines. From the typical restaurants in the streets of the center, irresistible aromas emanate, inviting you to sit down and enjoy the hospitality of Lake Garda.
In addition to relaxation and food and wine, Limone is ideal for lovers of outdoor activities: there is a wide choice of walks among the olive groves, guided trekking on the trails, and water sports such as sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. There are numerous beaches where you can recharge your batteries in the sun and dive into the refreshing waves of the lake. The 5 Legambiente flags have rewarded the purity of the water, while the European EMAS mark certifies the commitment to environmental sustainability.
Among the things not to be missed is a guided tour of the Limonaia del Castèl (the lemon house), which is easily reached from the center of the village. Since the 10th century the name Limon appears in many documents, often transformed into Limonum, Limono and Limone. According to some, the name derives from limen = border or from lima = river. However, these are not derivatives of the fruit 'lemon', but, according to the most recent studies in toponymy, rather reflections of an ancient voice of Celtic origin limo, lemos = 'elm'; hence Limone = place characterized by the presence of elms. The name of the town has been Limone San Giovanni since 1863; in 1904 it took on its current name of Limone sul Garda.
In the nineteenth century, lemon production went through a crisis caused by 'gummosis', a disease that affected almost all the plants in 1855; then there was competition from lemons in southern Italy and the discovery of synthetic citric acid, which drastically reduced exports.
The Legend of Limone
Legend has it that the love of the god Benaco and the nymph Fillide gave birth to twins, Grineo and Limone. In their father's mind, the first should have devoted himself to fishing, the second to agriculture, but the two, since their adolescence, preferred hunting on the slopes of Mount Baldo, where Limone was attacked and killed by a wild boar. In despair, Fillide pleaded with her husband to bring her son back to life: she gave him an infusion prepared with mysterious celestial flowers and the miracle was accomplished. Promptly obeying his father's wishes, Limone settled down in front of Baldo, in a gentle inlet sheltered from the winds, and cultivated the fruit that took his name.

Campingplatz Campeggio Gasparina am Gardasee - Ein Rundgang über den Platz - Wohnmobil Kastenwagen
Heute zeigen wir euch einen kleinen familiären Campingplatz am Gardasee in der Nähe von Peschiera del Garda, Lazise und dem Gardaland. Es ist ein schlichter, gerade im Umbruch befindlicher Platz direkt am See mit großzügigen Stellplätzen direkt mit See-Sicht. Aber schaut doch selbst mal rein.
Wir zeigen euch unverblümt den ganzen Platz so wie er kurz nach Ostern ausgesehen hat.
