In 2011, Sudan broke into 2 separate countries. Sudan in the north and South Sudan in the South... They are completely different in every way possible.
I have spent the last 48 hours in Juba, the capital city of South Sudan, and it has been one of the most interesting and eye opening trips of my entire life.
Thankfully, was able to get in touch with some awesome locals through social media and they've been showing me around and making sure I'm safe. I say this because South Sudan is not the safest country around Africa -- it's been in a constant state of war since its existence 8 years ago. But things now seem to be much more stable than the past, and the future is bright for this oil rich country in Central/East Africa.

Juba is the capital and largest city of South Sudan. The city is situated on the White Nile and also serves as the capital of the Central Equatoria State. It is the most recently declared national capital and had a population of 525,953 in 2017. It has an area of 52 km², with the metropolitan area covering 336 km².
South Sudan is the newest country on earth, officially the Republic of South Sudan, is a landlocked country in eastern Central Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia, Sudan, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and Kenya. Its population was estimated at 11,088,796 in 2023. Juba is the capital and largest city.

THIS IS CRAZY!! Sorry Dutch people, you are not the tallest in the world. Not even close! You guys will not believe how tall the people are in South Sudan! Like EVERYONE on the streets of Juba (South Sudan's capital) is well over 6 feet tall, and many over 7 feet - even the females! It's one of the most unbelievable features of mankind that I've ever seen anywhere on this planet.

7 East African Presidents With Their Statehouses | Kenya vs Uganda vs Tanzania vs Rwanda
Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) form the East African Community. The presidents of these countries live in well protected residences called State houses or Flag houses or Presidential palaces.
This video contains a list of the seven east African presidents and their state houses.
Some of these statehouses such as the State house of Kenya, currently occupied by the newly elected president of Kenya, President William Ruto, were Built by the colonialists during the colonial era. However some of them are still new or under construction like the Chamwino state house in Dodoma that was recently completed. The construction of the Chamwino statehouse was necessitated by the shifting of the Tanzania's capital from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma. The State house is expected to be Opened by the Current president of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan.
