Colombo, Sri Lanka ➖ After spending a few days exploring Colombo, it was time to make our way up to the mountainous city of Kandy. There's no better way to transport around Sri Lanka than to catch one of the crazy busses that fly around the roads. They're cheap, fast and frequent, so you're bound to be able to get one to where you want! I knew going into this trip that it was going to be a crazy one, and we didn't even have to leave the city to realise that I was right haha. Nonetheless, after a 4 or so hour journey, we made it to Kandy.

Day 02 | My solo trip to Sri lanka | Travelled in local Buses | Bentota to Kandy - with English subs
Hey guys, this video is all about my 2nd day in Sri Lanka. In case you haven't seen my previous Sri Lankan vlog, the link is given below ????
Day 01 :
On my second day, I decided to explore another city so I packed my bag and left from Bentota. From my accommodation in Bentota one employee gave me company till the local bus stand in Bentota, and helped me to catch me a bus to Colombo. The Journey took around 1hr 40 mins.
I changed a bus in Colombo and took another bus towards Kandy. Kandy was my final destination but I decided to make a stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage first because it was on the way, so for that i got down at Karandupana roughly took me 3hrs 20 mins and from there I took another short bus ride (20 mins) to Pinnawala.
After my visit to Elephant Orphanage, i took the bus and went to Karandupana and from there changed to a bus going to Kandy.
I booked my accommodation The Mango in Kandy from Bookings.com . So the owner messaged me for a free ride valid for 1 time and came to pick me up . After i checked in to my room i gave a room tour to you all and this is how my 2nd Day was spent in Sri Lanka.
Being a solo female traveller, i felt very safe to commute in local buses in Sri Lanka and it is a very affordable and best way to explore Sri Lanka.

This video was captured during our trip to Baker's Bend.
You have to get to Baker's Bend through Balangoda Nonpareil Estate. Nonpareil is a very isolated area with no proper road facilities.
The narrow and difficult road there fell from the side of a high mountain range. One bus operates on this road as public transport. So we decided to go by bus as our car couldn't go on this road.
This bus journey, that journey is so exciting.

I had been staying at Drift BnB Colombo for the past few days as it provided a very clean and rather affordable bunk bed for a single traveler like me. On my last day, I headed out to the Pettah bus station trying to figure out how to take a local bus to Kalpitiya. It was a very nice experience as an independent solo traveler experiencing what local also experience. I love this kind of travel.
