SLO:

7 Days In SLOVENIA ???????? | Ljubljana, Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, Bovec & Soča Valley

I spent 7 days travelling round one of Europe's best kept secrets, the gorgeous country of Slovenia.

Starting in the picturesque capital of Ljubljana, I then made my way round to Lake Bohinj, where I took the cable car up to Mt Vogel.

I went white water rafting near Bled before swimming in the crystal clear waters of Lake Bled itself.

Then I travelled round to the Soča Valley and stayed in Bovec where I went canyoning, zip-lining and took the cable car up to Mt Kanin.

Slovenia: Julian Alps and Soča River Valley - Rick Steves’ Europe Travel Guide - Travel Bite

More info about travel to Slovenia: The northwestern corner of Slovenia is busy with visitors both winter and summer. The Julian Alps, laced with hiking paths and alpine villages, and the milky-blue Soča River, which flows down into the peaceful valley below, offer plenty of diversions for nature-lovers. This terrain also has a terrible war history — it was the Soča Front during World War I; a museum in the town of Kobarid tells the story. #ricksteveseurope #ricksteves #slovenia

Vršić In Soča - I Feel Slovenia

Enjoy this relaxing and scenic video of the Vršič Pass and the Soča River in Slovenia, two of the most beautiful natural attractions in the country. The Vršič Pass is the highest mountain pass in the eastern Julian Alps, with an elevation of 1,611 metres (5,285 ft). It was built by Russian prisoners of war during World War I to connect the Sava and the Soča valleys. The pass has 50 hairpin turns, each with a unique number and name, and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. You will see some of the highlights of the pass, such as the Russian Chapel, a memorial to the fallen workers who built the road, the statue of Zlatorog, the mythical golden-horned ibex, and the Tičarjev mountain hut, where you can have a coffee or stay the night3. The video also features some amazing timelapses of the sunrise and sunset over the mountains, as well as the changing colors of the landscape throughout the seasons.

The Soča River is a 138 km (86 mi) long river that flows through western Slovenia and northeastern Italy. It is known for its emerald green color and its clear and pure water. The river is a popular destination for adventure sports, such as rafting, kayaking, and paragliding. You will see some of the most scenic spots along the river, such as the Boka waterfall, the largest waterfall in Slovenia, the Kozjak waterfall, a hidden gem in a cave-like chamber, and the Tolmin Gorge, a narrow canyon with a thermal spring. You will also see some of the charming towns and villages along the river, such as Bovec, Kobarid, and Tolmin, where you can experience the local culture and cuisine.

This video will take you on a journey through the Vršič Pass and the Soča River, two of the most breathtaking places in Slovenia. You will be amazed by the beauty and diversity of this small but wonderful country. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the view.
