Foreigner STRANDED on China's Yellow Mountain ???????? | Mount Huangshan 黄山
Huangshan, or the Yellow Mountain ????, is one of China's most treasured mountains.
It has a history dating back thousands of years, to a time when only emperors were allowed to walk its mighty steps. ????♂️
During Golden Week, China's most important week for tourism, I went on a few adventures. This was my first. ????????
Mount Huangshan is a UNESCO World Heritage site in southern China. Located outside the city of Huangshan, the name literally means Yellow Mountain, and is one of the most famous mountains in China. ????
It's been famous since the 8th century when it was renamed in honour of Huangdi, the Yellow Emperor, mythical ancestor of all Han Chinese. ????
It's a supremely beautiful spot and we really enjoyed checking it out, despite the stupid amount of stairs ????!

We are going to this place is truly heaven on earth. Mount Fanjingshan mountain is going to be fun. With some extensive research, we came across China’s best-kept secret that we thought it was heaven on earth. We located this breathtaking place known as Mount Fanjingshan Mountain (MT. Fanjing) in Tongren City, the eastern Guizhou Province in China.
The moment we found this GEM online, our mission while traveling in China was to visit Fanjingshan Mountain. It was exciting to visit a place that most people did not know about. There are three peaks in the MT Fanjing. We were eager to visit one of the highest summits, Phoenix Golden Summit. Sadly, it was closed for renovation. It was an enormous disappointment as we traveled to Tongren to hike that specific summit. Instead, we hiked the Old Golden Summit that looked just as beautiful. As you will see in the video, the hike was challenging. However, those fantastic views and the feeling of being in heaven was gratifying. We were on top of the world!

Monty Don continues his extraordinary journey to see the world through 80 of its most inspiring gardens, as he samples the very different approach of two of the world's great gardening cultures: China and Japan.
First, he travels to China, to uncover the deeper history of the oriental garden. His researches lead him to the ancient scholars' gardens of Suzhou, as well as the awesome Yellow Mountains of Huangshang that inspired them, where he meets the revered Welcome Guest Pine.
By the time he reaches the Imperial Summer Palace Gardens of Beijing, he is beginning to get a little insight into the secrets of oriental gardening, and with his long-standing interest in Zen Buddhism, Monty relishes the chance to visit the temple gardens of Japan.
Finally, he crosses the Yellow Sea to Kyoto - Japan's city of gardens - to try to unravel its enigmatic Zen gardens with his new-found understanding.

On Qingming Jie (Tomb-sweeping Day) this year, my classmate, two friends, and I went to the beautiful Yellow Mountain. Unfortuantly, we didn't have enough time to climb to the very top of the mountain, but that means I'll try to come back to the Yellow Mountain and do it!
Escaping the Imperial Edict Cliff on the South Peak of the Mt.Huashan
The cliff is situated to the northwest of the Southern Heavenly Gate. On the cliff is a small cave engraved with Bi Zhao Yan (Escaping the Imperial Edict Cliff) at the upper area of its entrance. It's said that these characters were engraved by Chen Tuan.
Chen Tuan was a Taoist sage born at the end of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period. He was also said to be familiar with Confucius' classics, history, geology and various schools of thoughts. Emperor Taizu and Emperor Taizong of the Northern Song Dynasty invited him to assist them to rule the country. However, he declined the emperors' invitation and hid himself in a cave on a steep cliff on Mt. Huashan.
Emperor Taizong once ordered the local governors to persuade Chen Tuan. The local governors came to visit Chen Tuan with precious gifts and the emperor's imperial edict. Chen didn't see them and pled the governors to acquaint the emperor that he wouldn't become an official. The Emperor Taizong knew that Chen Tuan had no attempt to assist him. Therefore, he conferred Chen Tuan the title of Master Xiyi, which meant Master of Inaudible and Invisible.
