Canon AE-1: The Camera That Defined a Generation of Photographers
The Canon AE-1 is one of the most popular cameras of all time. The odds of you knowing someone or multiple people with this camera is pretty high.

How to Shoot 35mm Film (Story 1)
Film Camera: Canon A1 with a 50mm f/1.4 Canon lens -- FujiColor Superia 200
Video Camera: Canon 5D3 with a 35mm Summicron F2 (1970) Leica lens
This is our first STORY in our new Snippet/Story style and we are so very excited to share it with you.
This week we tried to weave the beautiful experience of film photography with a bit of a how-to-video with the hopes of inspiring you to get out and capture your environment.
The entire experience of shooting film from choosing your film stock, to manually loading the film, to the sexy sound of winding the film after each photo, well it all just begs you to slow down, to focus on the moment at hand, and take it all in and then... the most important part... to stay present. No checking how the photo turned out, no re-taking the selfie, not even the need to see how many likes it got. Nope, a film camera gives you the luxury of hoping that you captured the moment and letting that be enough.
And while I can go on and on about the lessons that film has already taught me - and this was just my first roll ! - the main thing that making this story taught me is how lucky I am to have a partner as patient and thoughtful as Lou! His work ethic is unlike anyone I have ever met and the passion he pours into creating these beautiful moments each week never ceases to amaze me.
I'm grateful for this week's video for reminding me of time spent: hanging at second hand camera stores, capturing special moments with dear friends, and enjoying perfect moments of summer when you feel surrounded by love.

Welcome to Season Two of the 'Phlog', the series where we dive a little deeper into the photography process.
Episode Five features Perth-based film photographer Todd Hewitt.
Todd has always been drawn to the natural landscapes of WA, so it was fitting that he decided to venture up to Seabird, a town just north of the city.
All photographs captured on his Canon AE-1 with Kodak 200 Color Film.

Film Photography Daytrip to Olympic National Park | Canon AE-1 Program on Kodak UltraMax 400
Showing something a little different on this video. Recently started getting back into film photography after 6 years of shooting exclusively digital and on this video I showcase some images from the Kodak UltraMax 400 roll. This is my very first time shooting color film and I was quite happy with the results. Could use some work on my manual focusing but that'll come with time and practice. The UltraMax roll was recommended to me by a guy at a camera store in Seattle as a good, cheaper alternative to Portra 400 & Portra 800. I liked the saturation in the green and yellow hues and the details in both the shadows and highlights. I'm going to continue testing out new types of color film as well as some black & white in the future, so if you liked this video give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more outdoor and adventure content! Hope you enjoyed and thank you guys for watching.
P.S. the drone footage was captured outside the national park boundary

The Lake District | POV Photography (Behind the Scenes) | Canon AE-1 Program & Sony A7IV
Happy Sunday friends! Hope you've all had an amazing week. Last Monday, my great friend Benjy Johnson and I headed to the Lake District; more specifically, Haystacks at Buttermere to film some content and take some photos.
I wore my GoPro for the whole of this little trip so you'll see a mixture of POV Photography, drone shots of the landscape and a mixture of film and digital photographs.
Hope you all enjoy!
