Hong Kong Street Food Tour - BEST DIM SUM!! 5 MUST-TRY Street Foods in Hong Kong 2018 + SEAFOOD

Street Food Hong Kong | Chinese Food | Seafood in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is PACKED with amazing street food! I (Luke Martin) take you on the ULTIMATE Hong Kong cantonese / Chinese street food tour of this beautiful city! We taste all the iconic foods from dim sum to cha chain tent to seafood at a dai pai dong! You are NOT going to want to miss this one!

We started the morning off at a busy Hong Kong market in Kowloon. We popped into a local authentic dim sum shop to try some of the famous dishes like Char Siu bay and Siu Mai! For our second breakfast we stopped at a Cha Chaan Teng (茶餐廳) for some British influenced Chinese food!

Next up we found a roast meat shop or Siu Mei (燒味) shop, selling all the classic cantonese roast meats! For dessert you have got to try the ICONIC Hong Kong waffle, we had ours at North Point Hong Kong Egg Waffle.

To finish any good day of eating in Hong Kong a trip to one of the many Dai Pai Dongs is a necessity! We tried Sing Kee Dai Pai Dong on Hong Kong island and were blown away at the amazing flavors! We especially enjoyed the several Chinese seafood dishes we tried!

I hope you enjoyed this video if you did share it with your food loving friends so they to can enjoy the delicious street food in Hong Kong!

Hong Kong Street Food - DIM SUM HEAVEN + World's BEST Roast Goose!! ICONIC Street Food in Hong Kong!

Hong Kong episode 2:

Hong Kong episode 1:

This is the LAST episode of our Hong Kong street food series. In today’s episode, we will be eating the most CLASSIC street foods at local restaurants including DIM SUM, ROAST GOOSE, HONG KONG NOODLES, AND EGG TARTS WITH HONG KONG MILK TEA! Today, we are eating like a local!

For breakfast, we choose a very traditional and local dim sum restaurant that is street side. We ate siao mai, char siu bao, shrimp cheong fun, beef balls and tea. So delicious, healthy and WAY cheaper than some modern dim sum shops (81 HKD / 10.32 USD). We ride the Ding Ding (trams) toward Central Hong Kong to head to one of the BEST and Michelin recommended roast goose shops in all of Hong Kong - Yat Lok. Although quite expensive, this shop has PERFECTED the roast goose recipe and is worth it. The skin holds so many dimensions of flavour and the meat underneath is extremely tender and SO JUICY (223 HKD / 28.41 USD for quarter goose with drumstick). We were quite full so we took a walk down through the Fish Market. Later in the day, we visit a place that is known to serve some of the most traditional style Hong Kong “cart noodles” in the city. For a cheap price, you can assemble the bowl exactly how you want it. We recommend the braised chicken wing, radish and spicy sauce. Don’t forget to add the Sichuan oil if you love the “mala” flavour. Man Kee Cart Noodle began as a traditional cart serving noodles which expanded into a very popular restaurant while maintain the original taste (31 HKD / 3.95 USD per bowl). Finally, after being quite full, we head for a dessert at a cafe that has not changed over the MANY years it has been open. Packed with an older generation of Hong Kong folk, this cafe serves a perfect Hong Kong egg tart paired with a classic HK milk tea (20 HKD / 2.55 USD tart + tea). SO DELICIOUS and a great way to end our insane street food tour & series in Hong Kong!

Thanks for joining us on our HONG KONG STREET FOOD TOUR! We hope you enjoyed all 3 episodes. If you did, make sure to subscribe to our channel for more STREET FOOD from around the world! If you want to eat at these places too, check the information below!

Hong Kong Street Food Video Part 1:

Hong Kong Street Food Video Part 2:

***********************************************************************

In this video we focus our food hunting on Hong Kong island. We start the day with a yum cha breakfast. Yum cha literally translates to ‘drink tea’ and a meal of yum cha (Cantonese brunch if you will) is accompanied by dim sum- little dishes. We eat classic dim sum like har gow and siu mai at a really local yum cha restaurant where they make the dim sum in house whilst you eat.

Next on the list is an eggette, a really popular snack in Hong Kong. A type of egg waffle the eggette is made out of an egg heavy batter which is poured into a special mould. The resulting waffle is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and easily tearable due to its shape.

We then head to the famous Michelin starred Yat Lok for a feast of roast goose. No visit to Hong Kong would be complete without a taste of this! Crunchy skin, melt in your mouth fat and dark, slightly gamey meat.

We end at a cha chaan teng a local cafe which serves a range of food including fusion Cantonese and Western dishes. These eateries are really nostalgic and good fun and completely unique to Hong Kong- a must visit!

Where and what we ate:

Yum cha at Sun Hing, Hong Kong, Sai Wan, 士美非路8號, Markfield Building. Open daily 3:00am to 4:00pm.

Eggette at Master Low-Key Food Shop, Shop B3, G/F, No.76A Shau Kei Wan Main Street East, Shau Kei Wan, Hong Kong. Open Monday to Friday noon to 10:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 11:00am to 10:00pm.

Roast goose at Yat Lok, Conwell House, G/F, 34-38 Stanley St, Central, Hong Kong. Open Monday to Saturday 10:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday 10:00am to 5:30pm.

Baked pork chop on rice at Tsuih Wah, 15 Wellington St, Central, Hong Kong. Open daily, 24 hours.

Handicrafts - Hong Kong Dim Sum

#dimsum #Hongkongteahouse #yuncha
No trip to Hong Kong is complete without a meal of dim sum, a range of small dishes still enjoyed as brunch by the city’s residents today, as it has been for many decades. To explore what makes the best yumcha, as the cuisine is locally known, we go to two time-honored restaurants. The family that owns Lin Heung Kui and Lin Heung Tea House have been running dim sum eateries in the city center for nearly a hundred years. In an episode that is both savory and informative, we follow the work of the top chefs at the restaurants, from the time that they get up in the morning, long before the rest of the city.

5 BEST STREET FOODS IN HONG KONG | Mong Kok Street Food Tour

Hong Kong has AMAZING & CHEAP street food! Watch my food tour in MONG KOK as I try several of my favorite street foods and walk through the many markets in the area. #tsimshatsui #hongkongstreetfood #mongkok

Mong Kok is a popular area of Kowloon which literally translates to crowded corner. Its easily accessible by the MTR (metro) and has plenty of classic and exotic street food stalls as well as thousands of shops to buy souvenirs. Mong Kok is one of my favorite areas of Hong Kong and it would be a shame to come to HK and not talk a walk through Mong Kok and see what you can find. Enjoy!
