We walk around the grounds and interiors of Torrey Pines Lodge, Golf Course, and restaurant, in La Jolla, north of San Diego, California. Since the late 1960s, Torrey Pines has hosted the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open, originally known as the San Diego Open. It sits on the coastal cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the community of La Jolla, just south of Torrey Pines State Reserve. It is considered one of the most beautiful courses on the PGA tour.

Del Mar is a beach city in San Diego County, California, United States, incorporated on July 15, 1959. Del Mar is Spanish for of the sea or by the sea, which reflects its location on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The Del Mar Horse Races are hosted on the Del Mar racetrack every summer.
In 1885, Colonel Jacob Taylor purchased 338 acres (1.37 km2) from Enoch Talbert, with visions of building a seaside resort for the rich and famous. The United States Navy operated a Naval Auxiliary Air Facility for blimps at Del Mar during World War II. The population was estimated at 4,347 in 2018, up from 4,161 at the 2010 census.
The town has a wealthy population along the coast and the bluffs above the ocean. However, these properties are very vulnerable to climate change caused sea level rise and subsequent coastal erosion. Already transportation infrastructure has been under threat. The city has a Climate change adaptation plan that notably doesn't have any managed retreat strategy even though it was recommended by the state California Coastal Commission in 2019.

The University of California, San Diego (UCSD), is located in La Jolla, as are the Salk Institute, Scripps Institution of Oceanography (part of UCSD), Scripps Research Institute, and the headquarters of National University (though its academic campuses are elsewhere).

After exploring the Gliderport we drive up Torrey Pines Road to the Famous Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course. At the Golf Course is the beautiful Torrey Pines Lodge which is a popular places for wedding receptions and events.
After a visit to Torrey Pines Lodge we head down towards Torrey Pines State Beach and grab some lunch at Roberto's Very Mexican Food. We have a California Burrito with an amazing view of the Torrey Pines Nature Reserve.
At the hiking trail we wander around the various trails and find some landmarks like the Red Butte, Razor Point and the famous Beach trail that leads all the way down to Torrey Pines State Beach. One of the best hikes in San Diego, California!
