Guatemalan STREET FOOD from the GODS in Lake Atitlan | Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala

On my second day in Guatemala in partnership with the Real Intercontinental Guatemala we explored Santiago Atitlan the most important town on Lake Atitlan. Here we tried some of the best street food in Guatemala!

When we arrived in Santiago Atitlan we headed straight for Maya Patin a local street food on Lake Atitlan which is a small salted fish mixed with tomato paste in a banana leaf. It was salty and spicy, super delicious!

Next we continued up the town and we stop and had a spicy Guatemalan snow cone. It was a little spicy but the lime made it extra delicious!

We then visit Maximon, the Maya god or grandfather of Santiago Atitlan. The maya people of Santiago Atitlan believe that he protects the town. You can see him smoking cigarets and drinking! Pretty amazing experience!

To end our day in Santiago Atitlan we visited a local fish restaurant and ate some Black Bass. I had it with a white wine sauce and I also put some spicy sauce they had which was super spicy. Mariel challenged me and I won!

From there we crossed the lake back to Panajachel and drove 3 hours back to Guatemala City to the Real Intercontinental Guatemala. We had dinner at their Japanese restaurant Tanoshii. We went all out with three rolls of sushi, sashimi and sake!

ICE COLD Guatemalan SNOWCONE and FIRE Maya COFFEE on Lake Atitlan | San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala

On my second day in Guatemala in partnership with the Real Intercontinental Guatemala we headed to Lake Atitlan to explore the town of San Juan La Laguna where we tried coffee, guatemalan snowcone and visited a textile factory!

Today we head to Lake Atitlan one of the most beautiful lakes in the world! It took us 3 hours to drive from Guatemala City to Lake Atitlan. On the way we passed through Solola and hopped on a quick boat ride from Panajachel to San Juan La Laguna.

San Juan La Laguna is famous for its painters, coffee and it's maya textiles. We first stopped at Cafe San Juan to drink a few different coffee roast. Maya coffee in San Juan La Laguna is unreal!

Then we made our way through the town admiring the murals and galleries. We saw a vendor selling some incredible Guatemalan snow cones and I had to try it. They put roasted corn and lime mixed with a few other flavors and its so good!

Lastly we stopped at Casa Flor Ixcaco to see how these Maya women weave these beautiful textiles. From scarfs, to t-shirts to even some incredible baby shoes. A must visit and you have to buy!!

Antigua Guatemala 2020 - Guatemalan Food

Antigua Guatemala 2020 - Guatemalan Food

This is our revisit to Antigua Guatemala 2020. And first on the list is typical Guatemalan Food. Authentic Guatemalan Food. We enjoy our meal at La Guevita de los Urquizu. Antigua Guatemala restaurantes are what we're looking to experience. We're starting the year off right in Antigua. We fly into La Aurora international airport in Guatemala City, Guatemala. We then take an Uber from Guatemala to Antigua Guatemala for the first leg of our trip. We then head to Lake Atitlan and Chichicastenango and to the largest mercado in Central America. As well as visiting Lake Atitlan. Guatemala City to Antigua is a good start when first arriving in Guatemala and Guatemala City. We were just in Antigua Guatemala 2019 and loved it so much, we were planning how to get back ever since then.

We highly recommend Guatemala travel of course. And of course we recommend visiting Antigua Guatemala as well. Antigua Guatemala is absolutely beautiful. If you've seen my last videos from Guatemala, you'll know that this our favorite country and city in the world. While we haven't been everywhere, we've been enough places and countries to know. Guatemala 2020 is starting the year off right. And Antigua Guatemala travel is an awesome way to start the year.

This is my Antigua Guatemala travel vlog. I hope you'll enjoy my Antigua Guatemala vlog. We took an Antigua guatemala walking tour as soon as we arrived in Antigua. We visited the Casa del jade antigua guatemala and made a couple of purchases. Our hotel was Casa Encantada Antigua Guatemala. Please see the videos to see how absolutely beautiful it was. It also included breakfast from the terrace. The Antigua Guatemala walking tour was great, which we were allowed to meet the new Vice Mayor and visiting the jade museum. Antigua Guatemala nightlife is excellent; while shutting down early, it's absolutely beautiful. Lot's of bars, restaurants and live entertainment. Again, this is my Guatemala travel vlog; I hope you enjoy, like and subscribe. Remember, travel Guatemala.

AMAZING Guatemalan STREET FOOD + Antigua Walking Tour | Antigua, Guatemala

On my third day in Guatemala in partnership with the Real Intercontinental Guatemala we explored Antigua's main attractions and we ate some amazing Guatemalan street food!

We started our exploration of Antigua by walking through the historical center of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Antigua. We first saw La Carmen Convent ruins, then we went to La Perla to have a quick espresso and then we visited La Merced Church.

From there we made our way across the city and stopped at Santa Catalina Arch which is the icon of Antigua. It's a a 15 century arch built to help the nuns cross from the convent to a school. Next up we saw the Antigua Cathedral ruins. It was destroyed during an earthquake in the year 1773.

We then made a quick stop at La Casa del Ron and tried some amazing Zacapa rums. We tried Zacapa 23, Zacapa Negro and we tried a Colonial rum which is an artisan rum made by the Zacapa brand.

To end the night we headed to the public laundry square and there, there is a lady selling amazing Guatemalan street food. I tried four different things:
-Chuchitos
-Alot del Elote
-Rellenitos de Platano
-Tostada de Ensalada de Pollo

Each thing was amazing and I highly recommend visiting that lady when you head to Antigua. She gets there around 5:30pm.

/// ABOUT US ///
Hi! We are Eric and Sarah, a couple of Canadians currently travelling around Central America. We’ve been married since 2017 but have known each other since we were only 6 years old! During our last year of university, we spent 4 months in Honduras on a semester abroad and fell in love with Latin America. Since then, we began planning and saving to do an extensive Latin America tour. 2020 delayed those plans by half a year but during this time stuck in BC, we explored a new hobby (like everyone in the pandemic) of videography and photography. We are now using our new skills to document our adventures around South and Central America. Our desire through these videos is to provide helpful and inspiring content for other travelers while also showing people around the world how beautiful Latin America truly is! Thanks for following along and please leave a comment to say hi!

Guatemala City Guatemala - Authentic Guatemalan Food

Guatemala City Guatemala - Authentic Guatemalan Food and great Food at La Cocina de La Senora Pu is what we found when we arrived back in Guatemala City.

Guatemala City Guatemala is our first stop in Guatemala - Guatemala City to Antigua Guatemala is our second stop. And then as in this video, we're back in Guatemala City for one night. Senora Pu restaurant was recommended to us by our AirBnB Host. La Cocina de la Senora Pu is known for having some of the best authentic Guatemalan Food. It was definitely the best Guatemalan food I had during our trip to Guatemala. Food in Guatemala was one of our top reasons that we loved our visit. There are restaurants in Guatemala City all over our area. Which was the Sexta area. This restaurant was just one block off of Calle Sexta. Out of every restaurant and meal that we had in Guatemala City and Guatemala in general, this is by far the best meal we had there.

Guatemala is my latest country to visit. This was a birthday celebration trip for my girlfriend. I think I picked a good one. Guatemala City was our first stop and we had an awesome AirBnB. Guatemala 2019 is a date and trip that we will never forget. We absolutely loved this country and its' history. Guatemala City 2019 is a place that we'll always recommend visiting. Visiting Guatemala was an awesome choice for her birthday. We just didn't know how good it would be.Visiting Guatemala City first was a good choice as well. Since we landed here it was a good choice to get a good AirBnB for the week as a base. Guatemala City to Antigua was our ultimate route. And of course we went from there as well to Lake Atitlan and Pacaya volcano as well. Visiting Antigua was good for us especially coming and going to and from Medellin Colombia. Guatemala travel is something we both recommend now.

There are plenty of things to do in Guatemala City. We chose to stay near our airbnb since we were only a block away from Sexta Avenida or should I say Avenida Sexta. Visiting Antigua Guatemala was and is a good second stop. I'd actually recommend first experiencing Guatemala City nightlife before heading to Antigua Guatemala. Travel Guatemala should be on a t-shirt somewhere just like Guat's Up? I actually have that shirt. Guatemala City Travel is our tip recommend travel if you're looking to stay near the US but be outside of the US. Central and South America are great choices. It's the same time zone as well. Travel Guatemala city was my first choice and Honduras was my second. We've even checked out living in Guatemala and joined a Facebook group for expats in Guatemala. Food in Guatemala was awesome. Some not my first choice, but overall, this was our best food trip yet. Guatemalan food is something to check out when possible. And sexta avenida Guatemala is a walking street that you have to check out. There are no cars allowed but does have a free bus that runs periodically. Restaurants in Guatemala City were, again, awesome. We'd definitely tell you to check out La Cocina de la Senora Pu.

Below are links to the products that I recommend. If you choose to purchase any of them, I get a few pennies for it. #CommissionsEarned If I didn't highly recommend something I wouldn't put it on my channel.

Mayan STREET FOOD & Artisanal Guatemalan MARKET | Chichicastenango, Guatemala

???? MARIEL:
???? WATCH: Guatemala Street Food
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE SHIRTS & MERCH:

On my fourth day in Guatemala in partnership with the Real Intercontinental Guatemala we explored Chichicastenango the most famous Maya market town in the country!

We started the day at 5:30am and drove three hours west to Chichicastenango. Are first stop in Chichicastenango was the arch of Gucumatz. This is the entrance to the city and also in the Maya religion to the under world!

We then walk through the whole city and I tried fresh orange juice, pupusas and home made ice cream. Everything was so good! From their we made are way to the Maya cemetery via the poultry market.

After exploring the maya cemetery we went all out shopping. I bought a ton of wood carved mask, Mariel bought some clothing and I bought a table runner for my wife.

We then visited Santo Tomas Church which is the most iconic spot in the city. It's famous because this church is a unified church between Catholicism and the Maya religion.

Next up we went to lunch at the Maya Inn hotel. He we tried some Culche and some Pepian de Pollo which is a traditional dish in Chichicastenango.

After exploring the whole town we drove back to Guatemala city and on the way we stopped at Iximche. This Maya archeological site is one of the most important because this is where the Spanish took country of the country.

Next time you head to Guatemala I recommend working with my friends at A La Carta Tours:

EP17 - LAKE ATITLAN | visiting THREE TOWNS around the lake (Panajachel, San Marcos, San Pedro)

Episode 17 - Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
This episode is a bit of a beast! We spent 10+ days at the beautiful Lake Atitlan exploring 3 towns (Panajachel, San Marcos and San Pedro... and a fourth in the next video...) and then condensed all of that into one 30 minute episode. The shot from the thumbnail is from the Indian Nose sunrise hike, and it is truly one of the best views we've ever seen.

The lake is incredibly special to us, and we hope you enjoy the video, let us know what you think and if you liked the longer form video (or would rather we stick to shorter and snappy). We'll leave you with a great quote from author Aldous Huxley (Brave New World):

Lake Como, it seems to me, touches on the limit of permissibly picturesque, but Atitlán is Como with additional embellishments of several immense volcanoes. It really is too much of a good thing.”

???????? GUATEMALAN FOOD - Antigua, Guatemala City & Livingston's Best!

What's good Profound Travelerz! As we wrap up of time in Guatemala, it's time to review the delicious food that we enjoyed all over the country from Antigua, Guatemala City, Puerto Barrios, and Livingston. We tried traditional, mainstream hipster Americanized type dishes, and Afro-Caribbean seafood spots. The food is as diverse as the culture of the country. Anyway, enjoy the restaurants we hit. Some reviews and names were provided for you all.

Santiago Atitlan Tuk Tuk Tour | GUATEMALA TRAVEL VLOG

Today we head over to the largest town on Lake Atitlan, Santiago Atitlan. It's a short 20-minute boat ride around the coast where we learn about Guatemala's bloody civil war and meet a local celebrity! Today we jump on a Tuk Tuk Tour to explore this beautiful town.

Before setting off for Santiago, we had a couple of things in mind that we wanted to visit, one of them was Maximón, the wooden effigy of a man worshipped by local people that apparently drinks alcohol and smokes. This all sounded very mysterious and from our research, we realised that we would need a local guide to take us to Maximón. After that our plan was to explore Santiago on foot as it came. As it turned out we got the most amazing tour guide when we arrived at the port who took us around Santiago and taught us the history of the town. He also introduced us to a lovely 77 year old lady called Concepción Ramírez who has appeared on the Guatemalan 25 cent coin since 1959.
