A Walk - Torrey Pines
A short 'hike' up Torrey Pines State Reserve. This video features the Beach Trail.
This short hike / walk is approximately 1 mile long. If you have a CA state surf rider state park annual pass, you can park for free at the CA State regulated parking lot. If not, you can either pay the day pass of $10 or there is beach parking on the street. The street parking is extremely limited and you may have to wait up to 30 minutes for someone to move so you can park. I recommend if you live in CA, get the annual pass. It's about $150 but if you plan to hike / camp on a regular basis it's totally worth it. If you are visiting San Diego, just pay the $10 and make a day out of it. The hike isn't intense at all but definitely worth spending the afternoon there. The hardest part of the hike is the hill in the beginning. If you wish, you can even park at the top but com'on, don't do that. AND, if you park at the bottom, and if you do the beach trail, you get a nice stroll on the beach back to your car.
Once at the top of the hill, there are a myriad of trails you can do. Of course, the best one is the Beach Trail. That also means this is the most popular. If you want to avoid the crowds, consider doing the Guy Fleming trail or the 2-3 other trails at the top of the hill. Each averages less then one mile.
