Glacier National Park Hiking & Lodging guide By Travel writer/photographer Steve Salis

Glacier: The Hiker’s National Park— the activity / Lodging guide By Travel writer/photog Steve Salis

Glacier: The Hiker's National Park -- This video took about 25 days to shoot and 100s of hours to write and edit. It's the most comprehensive GNP day hiking and lodging guide available. Glacier is my favorite National Park- I've been there 17 times and counting. The tour starts with a detailed drive across the Sun Road with many beautiful images. Then, I take you on the most popular hikes in the park including one where its possible to step on one of the shrinking glaciers. Then, I'll show you the Park's Lodges, Inns and campgrounds. before we drive up and visit one of the lakes in the remote NW corner of the park.

Hiking in Two Medicine- segment of 50 Best Hikes in Glacier National Park

In this segment our writer / photographer Steve Salis takes us on a tour of the Two Medicine area of Glacier National Park. Featuring Scenic Point and Dawson Pass.

This episode features Glacier National Park in Montana. After sleeping through our alarms for a sunrise hike due to being sick, we decided to continue on our road trip. But instead of going south from St. Mary's, Montana, we took the scenic route through Glacier NP and shot at every stop we saw worth shooting.

My Equipment:

The drive was in the middle of the day so light was not on our side, but between Haystack Creek, a turquoise and emerald road- side lake, and Lake McDonald, we were still able to get a few good images, despite how horrible we felt this day.

Behind The Lens in a mini- series that dives into the daily life of a landscape photographers life and what must be done 'for the shot.' It goes into what is being the pretty Instagram picture: the equipment, camera settings, struggles, hardships, and daily challenges.

After getting an in- depth look in the field, I go over exactly how I process these images from the locations shot at in the episode, diving into Lightroom, Photoshop and more.

Visited Glacier National Park on May 26-30, 2017 and had the very fortunate opportunity to catch a near perfect mirror on Lake McDonald, the aurora, the Milky Way, and even a meteor. My first attempt at a time-lapse.

Waterton Lakes National Park Hiking: Bertha Lake // Road Trip 2019

Waterton Lakes National Park -- As beautiful as Banff? Certainly smaller, and less crowded! But man, this place is picturesque. Incredible hikes, crystal clear lakes, beautiful views, and a tiny tow -- Waterton Village -- with all the amenities you need, whether you are camping, RVing, or staying in a hotel. Waterton Lakes National Park is like a warm-up to Banff -- less popular, less famous, and incredibly beautiful. We loved our time in Waterton!

Now off to Banff!

Grinnell Glacier Trail 4K | Glacier National Park Hiking Guide

#protectglacier #glaciernationalpark #hikingguide #climatechange

Trailhead: Grinnell Glacier Trail Parking Area
Difficulty: Strenuous
Distance: 11 Miles
Elevation gain: 1700 ft

You'd be hard-pressed to find a trail that offers a better selection of Glacier National Park's scenery, wildlife, and history. Grinnell Glacier in addition to being the park's most accessible glacier also bears the name of one of the most influential conservationists responsible for the region's preservation.

You'll encounter 4 stunning lakes: Swiftcurrent, Josephine, Lower Grinnell, and upper Grinnell and get up-close looks at two of the parks quickly disappearing glaciers.

Outhouses: Grinnell Glacier parking area, west shore of Lake Josephine near the boat dock, near trail's end before exiting treeline. The final outhouse is concealed from view. If you've passed the treeline you've gone too far.

Dispose of all waste properly, and carry out ALL trash.
What to do if you can't make it to an outhouse:
