Genny Mobility Comes to Dartmoor
On 13th November, Accessible Dartmoor in partnership with Dartmoor National Park, The National Trust and Countryside Mobility South West hosted a demonstration event for the Genny XR, an innovative mobility product that allows people with mobility difficulties to access the countryside.
Using the same technology as the popular Segway, those testing the Genny included Paralympian, Matt Sealy.

Segway Balloon Flight (segment 2 of 2)
No Crew? No problem, just attach your Segway X2 onto the basket and away you go! I always prefer to have crew members on the ground and in this particular instance, that was going to be me on the ground while a student logged some hours. But after he tethered for over an hour I had the itch to fly with him. We happened to be tethering within walking distance of where I refuel. So after removing the tank which was used during the tether, walking it down to the propane pump, and adding 8 gallons - we took off. Here is the evidence:) This was definitely a first for both of us - I'm not sure if any other balloonists have ever done this. We landed about 45 minutes later after travelling a mere two miles (but only landing about a quarter mile from where we launched) and I took a glide back to the chase rig. Very cool!
