One Step at a Time...

Things will never be the same and as we learn to move forward with huge holes in our hearts we are trying to go easy on ourselves. Needless to say, this video is messy but life is really just a giant mess.
We love you Lee

Filmed over the course of the last six weeks we begin with some cabin kitchen renovations ???? which turn into our foster dog having a run-in with a porcupine ????????‍♀️ and then the heart-wrenching news of our best friend Lee's passing. We grieve deeply and slowly get back to filming and building our own home at our cabin in the woods. Nothing is linear and that's okay. It's okay not to be okay ????.

We've always envisioned moving into the woods by the lake and building our dream tiny cabin as a home base for us to come back to in between our international van life travels. We cannot wait to have a place to call our own!!

Lee is a suburban district in SE12 within both the London Boroughs of Lewisham and Greenwich. It’s original name was 'Lee Green', but it isn’t anywhere near as green as it once used to be.

In 1866, Lee train station was opened, which facilitated the central London commute for a wider range of people.

The Old English word for Leah (spelt L-e-a-h) means ‘clearing in the wood’.

The Old Tiger's Head and the New Tiger's Head pubs are defining landmark features at these crossroads routing to the different districts. The Tigers head had its heyday in 1815 when troops moving between Dover and the Battle of Waterloo used it as a resting place to watch boxing matches and horse and foot races.

The original Tiger's Head was actually built in the place where the New Tiger's Head is now in The Royal Borough of Greenwich before it was rebuilt in the London Borough of Lewisham, over the road.

I’m guessing the new Old Tiger’s Head will soon be renamed the New Tiger’s Head since the closed New Tiger’s Head is now the old one!

Manor House gardens is one of the few green spaces left of what was termed 'Lee Green'. The gardens suffered through the Great Storm of 1987 with toppled trees and all-round decline. The locals formed various societies and groups to campaign for funding to see the house and gardens finally restored in 2000.

You can now see a variety of trees from the oak, horse chestnut, weeping willow and the London plane tree. The gardens hold a popular farmers' market at least one Saturday a month.

The Leegate Shopping Centre was once honoured with the title of Britain's worst shopping centre. The owners submitted a planning application for a 40 million regeneration to include an Asda store. Asda have since pulled out. The once-popular Leegate Centre was built in the 60's but today, after 50 years, it just lies mostly unloved and abandoned with half of its 20 units now vacant. The remaining units struggle to keep the spirit alive all the same, and a new unit has popped up despite it being viewed by many of the locals as a blackhole.

A chilling warning from Christopher Lee…

A few people have mentioned that they cannot fully understand Christopher Lee in this clip. Others have questioned the reason for my edit in the video. The edit was simply to shorten it down. Here is a longer (33 second) version that includes subtitles:

Weather has been getting a bit warmer and with that comes humidity ....here in Texas. Camping in my Jeep Camper wasn't an option..lol . It's been a while since i've vlogged city adventure. First time exploring this awesome quiet clean city that has a very small town feel ( Fortworth Texas )

As a fellow YouTuber and survivor of depression, this hit close to home and in my hometown of Santa Barbara.

Towards the end of the video I talk about mental health / suicide ...a subject that can be hard for some to talk about , even myself. Like many of you , I was shocked, heart broken, to hear the news. The Youtube community lost a beautiful spirit by the name of Lee MacMillan. As many of us have followed her journey abroad and here in the states with her recent channel 'Life with Lee'. She will always be remembered and will live through her vloggs and our hearts #forlee

Culebra Peak For Lee

In June of 2009 Major, Logan, Chaucey & Tom journeyed to Culebra Peak, the southernmost 14er in the
Rockies. It is the only 14er completely on private land and requires a $100 fee per person. It is for that reason many people choose not to hike it. Thus the phrase ABC for all but Culebra on 14er lists. Dr. Lee Gordon was a hand surgeon who climbed all the 14ers, but he refused to hike Culebra on principle. He was an amazing individual who lived his life to help others in need and I dedicate this video to his legacy. The music is Tuolumne by Eddie Vedder from the Into The Wild soundtrack and A Trip To The Unknown by Mark Isham.

This is the inspiring story of my great friend Lee Abbamonte, who has just flown out from NYC to meet me here in Ethiopia. We are heading to Somalia, next!

Lee is one of the world's most traveled people. He has been to every U.N. member state, U.S. state, U.S. national park, both the North and South poles, and 321 unique territories overall.

He finished all of the countries in 2011, about 9 years before I will do it, and those 9 years made a lot of difference in terms of how we each approached this mission. In short, Lee wasn't able to leverage social media to lower his travel costs and get paid to travel... because it wasn't popular back then. Instead, he had to work and save his own money the old fashioned way -- making the journey significantly more expensive than what it's costing me. He actually started his travels before the internet took off, back in 1998!

I hope you enjoy hearing Lee's story as he's a great friend and mentor. We are both about to go on one of the craziest trips of our lives to Mogadishu, Somalia tomorrow -- so stay tuned!

Meet the Artists | Lee Ufan

To behold a painting or sculpture by the Korean artist and philosopher Lee Ufan is to feel suspended in a single breath longer than seems biologically possible. Whether consisting of an isolated brushstroke on canvas or an installation of carefully counterpoised rocks and steel plates, each work is an encounter between interior and exterior that produces a lasting reverberation. While the artist – also a prolific writer and critic – has deep roots in the Korean avant-garde, associated with the Mono-ha group in the late 1960s and the Dansaekhwa school of monochrome painting in the 1970s, in latter decades, his dedication to his singular vision has garnered him solo exhibitions at international institutions including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., and the Château de Versailles. In this video, the 84-year-old master grants Art Basel access to his tranquil studio enclave in Kamakura, Japan, for a meditation on creativity, the primacy of nature, and the end of man.

Lee Ufan is represented by Kukje Gallery, Seoul; Pace Gallery, New York; kamel mennour, Paris; Lisson Gallery, London; and SCAI The Bathhouse, Tokyo.

Lee Child - The Reacher Guy

A video message by Lee Child, best-selling writer and creator of Jack Reacher.
Montegrappa CEO and lifelong Reacher fan, Giuseppe Aquila, designed a custom pen for Lee using the Montegrappa Configurator, the world's first and only luxury pen personalisation platform.
The gesture is timed to coincide with the publication of Heather Martin’s authorised biography, The Reacher Guy.
Giuseppe chose midnight-blue celluloid for the barrel echoing the book cover, thuja wood for the cap evoking the styling of vintage British cars. There are both signature design details and personalised touches: Child’s zodiac sign on the captop disc, his initials on the silver band, and the 29th September publication date of The Reacher Guy – exactly one month before his sixty-sixth birthday – engraved on the presentation box.
As Lee prepares to hand over the writing reins to his younger brother after the publication of The Sentinel, the 25th in the Jack Reacher series, scheduled to be published in October 2020, Amazon Prime are working on a TV series dedicated to Lee's globally acclaimed character.

Sales prices improve for Lee County homes and condos - WINK TV July 21, 2011

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A new report from Florida Realtors shows hope on the horizon.

Even though the number of sales dipped since last year, prices are on the rise for existing homes and condos in Lee County.

Local real estate experts say there are many reasons for the increase, but the main one is higher demand for fewer lower-priced properties -- a combination that drives prices up.

There are fewer toxic properties coming on the market, fewer foreclosures, and the ones that are coming on the market are typically higher-end, says Denny Grimes, with Royal Shell Real Estate in Fort Myers.

Since last year, the median sales price for an existing home in Lee County shot up 21 percent, from $96,600 to $117,100. The price of existing condominiums also increased, from $131,400 to $149,100 -- a 13 percent jump.

According to the report, the price increases in the Fort Myers-Cape Coral area were some of the largest in the state.

Grimes says it spells good news for the economy.

Sellers can come out from under the covers a little bit. It's a seller's market typically -- if it's priced below $250,000, Grimes says.

But that doesn't mean the housing market is in the clear yet, he says.

To climb into even better territory, Grimes believes external factors, like unemployment and consumer confidence, need to improve first.

We've gone from a super-irrational market to, basically, an irrational market, says Grimes. Sellers aren't necessarily clicking their heels when they're walking out of closing, but they are being successful.
