Our INTENSE First 24 Hours In TUNISIA (first impressions)
In today's episode, we bring you along on our first 24 hours in our 98th country of Tunisia???????? They involved a lot of driving, about 8 hours in total, going from the capital Tunis down to Tozeur via Kairouan, Islam’s fourth holiest city.
In the next episode, we’ll show you what we did in and around Tozeur. Let’s just say that if you’re a Star Wars fan, you absolutely need to come back for the second video???? (But regardless, you should still watch it of course????????)

Our WORST Day in TUNISIA! El Jem, Travel Vlog! اجانب فى الجم
Welcome to EL JEM!! We spent 2 days trying to get here and it was so worth it. The first day was pretty much a travel disaster, the train was cancelled, then we were sent to the wrong louage station...finally got to the 3rd and final louage station, and the bus was a fully booked...eventually we just gave up and came back the next day, luckily it was successful, we made it to El Jem and honestly had a great day exploring!

First impressions of HAMMAMET, Tunisia - A popular holiday destination in North Africa الحمامات تونس
Hello everyone! This is the third episode in my Tunisia series and the first of my Hammamet videos - effectively a Part A of my Hammamet videos. In other words - there will be more Hammamet content coming shortly so do watch out for those :)
In this video, I explore the popular Tunisian holiday destination of Hammamet. I arrived at my hotel in Hammamet earlier in the day after a short louage journey from Tunis, and after a brief rest, this was the first time I left the hotel again.
From the outset, I'm surprised at the level of activity and traffic - even though this is of course far less than what one will experience in Tunis, a far bigger city. In my previous video in this series, I explained why I requested a garden view rather than a city view at the hotel - the hustle and bustle of the city immediately justified that decision! I also note that Hammamet also has yellow taxis and trees with square cut leaves, just like Tunis. A key difference, however, is that some shops sell beach-related goods, which immediately tells a story of a seaside city.
After a short walk from the hotel down the main road, I arrive at the ocean and is impressed by the fort that overlooks it. I buy some pistachio-, caramel- and strawberry-coated nuts from a street vendor before walking down an ocean trail next to the fort.
After marvelling at the magnificent ocean setting, I walk towards the medina. I meet a gentleman that shows me a souvenir shop as well as an 800-year old house that is currently used as a boat house by fishermen. Afterwards I give him a tip and have some football chat (note: this video was shot a couple of days before the Tunsia versus France football match, hence my prediction and reference to that football match - see if i got the prediction correct!).
I say goodbye to the gentleman and walk further in / towards the medina. I stumble across stunning art, lots of feline friends and various references to fish in many forms. I also buy a fridge magnet from a shop and comment on the different vibe in Hammamet compared to Tunis, including the parts of the medina I explore here.
First time in TUNISIA - Meeting locals in TUNIS, the capital تونس
Hello everyone!
This is the start of a new series in which I explore Tunisia, the northernmost country in Africa. The series starts off with me exploring the capital city, Tunis, on my first day in Tunisia.
The goal on my first day was very much to orientate myself in the city, explore some markets, meet some locals and buy a Tunisian football jersey. I was particularly focused on meeting locals as there is no better way to really get to know a city than through the locals.
Before the start of the vlog, I asked a local man for directions to the Tunis medina, the vast market area where vendors try to sell some local and not-so-local merchandise.
As I walk towards the medina, I bump into this man again, who introduces himself to me as Abdul and self-appoints himself as my guide to the medina. He is quite the character as you will find out, taking me to various spots where vendors try to sell their merchandise. Trust me, you do not want to miss him taking me around the city!
After parting ways with Abdul, I stop for a Tunisian coffee at a local coffee shop, where I befriend a local man. He subsequently takes me to a vendor where I bargain in my attempt to buy a football jersey.
In the remainder of the vlog I provide insights and first impressions of the city.

In this vlog, I travel to the south of Tunisia, to a city called Tozeur. We'll explore the areas around Tozeur, including Chebika, Tamerza, Mides, and Ong Jemel. This area has it all, including beautiful desert, an oasis and waterfalls, salt flats, and a massive canyon. And at the end of the video, we'll visit a real Star Wars set that was built in the Tunisian desert in 1997 by George Lucas and his crew! They shot two Star Wars films here - The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. The site is abandoned now, but it's in incredible shape, and it was so cool to explore!

Tunisia officially referred to as the Tunisian Republic is a country located in Northern Africa with a Mediterranean Sea coastline right at the heart of Mediterranean Africa.
Tunisia is located immediately to the south of Italy and Malta and it also shares its borders with Libya to the south-east, and Algeria to the west.
Even though Tunisia has much to offer, this country has lived through a major decline during the recent decades.
Its economy is in major depression, infrastructure decay, and with it, the mass tourism lowering down.
Overall, Tunisia is a safe country, but there are extremely high rates of petty crime. You should be vigilant and take all possible precaution measures in order to minimize the risk of something going wrong.
