SafetyWing (best for younger travelers + digital nomads):

*I use both of these companies depending on the destination and requirements of entry. If you are going to be abroad for a long time and/or don't need as much coverage, I would recommend SafetyWing. BUT you cannot purchase SafetyWing WHILE in Canada or USA. You can only purchase once already abroad. Hey Mondo is more expensive but offers a higher level of coverage including plans that have trip cancellation/interruption insurance. Hey Mondo would be the better insurance to use if you need travel medical insurance when applying for a visa. Both companies cover covid. I am an affiliate for both companies, but I pay for my own policies.*

How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these YouTube videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

Crazy Colombia | The Best Place to be a Solo Backpacker

This is the untold story of my first ever solo travel trip. This video shows my time in Colombia.

I arrived here after a 2 week stint in Ecuador. Colombia was the destination first pencilled in a few months ago, during my time volunteering in a hostel in Santiago. Some of us had booked tickets to a music festival in Bogota called Estereo Picnic… so that was the first stop.

Being a backpacker in Colombia is so much fun, so many amazing places to visit with such rich history and landscapes.

After a few days of wild festival fun I headed onto Medellin. Knowing little about the history it was definitely educational and I ended up seeing so many things and staying for way longer than expected. I had no solid plans post festival so was free to take it day by day.

Here I explored one of the homes of Pablo Escobar, in Guatape and climbed a huge rock to view the surroundings. There was also the matter of the el Classico football game between the new and old Medellin teams. One of the most riotous events with so much passion! We could barely see the game for all the jumping, flares, streamers and other random things.

In the north of Colombia I was to meet back with Marina, who was working in Santa Marta. This came after some illness from street food in Cartagena. I had to continue backpacking and get better as there was an epic trek in the jungle to be had to the Lost City.

Along the coast there were many places to see such as the Tayrona National Park and Palomino. It was around this point the travel funds were starting to dwindle and I had booked a flight home… but from NYC… so I had to get there. The best options for flights were from Panama City, which can be accessed overland but it’s not really recommended as there is a dense jungle in the way. A 5 day sailboat trip sounded much more appealing than flying to Panama. So to sea it was…

There was no Travel Bubble at the time, and my journey was documented via a diary blog called AdsVentures ( here you can view the unedited, raw stories in full. You can also view the original iPhone 6 iMovie highlights reel for Colombia which cannot go onto the channel due to copyrighted songs being used.

I had no idea about what filming and making a video was really about, a collection of clips, photos and stories have formed this throwback solo series. Created to prequel Travel Bubble and to show other adventures from around the world.

This video and these memories are the most personal project to date, and the trickiest story to tell. I hope you enjoy.

COLOMBIA | Solo Backpacking

In January 2022, I embarked on a solo journey across Colombia, from the vibrant streets of Bogotá to the breathtaking Caribbean coast. Along the way, the stunning Tatacoa Desert and lush Cocora Valley captivated me, while the warmth of the Colombian people made my adventure unforgettable. This two-month voyage was my first major expedition post-Covid, amid ongoing restrictions and uncertainties.

I hope this video gives a small insight into what is to be expected when visiting this part of the world.

Thank you Sévan Maurin for helping me with some of the drone footages you can see in this video (Tatacoa Red Desert 0'33 - Guatapé 1'54 & 1'56 - Medellín 2'07 & 2'35). Sévan is a travel vlogger that I had the pleasure to meet during this trip.
