El Salvador has had an interesting if not troubling history in the past few decades. But despite that, it has remained a tourist destination because of its abundance of amazing natural beauty, old-world culture, wildlife, and more. And, what might be most surprising to hear… El Salvador has become world famous for being an incredible place for surfing! In this video, we take you through some of the best things to do and see in El Salvador.
Despite it being a small place, we chose to split up the video into three sections – each is dedicated to a separate region of the country. But fortunately, the country is small and accessible enough so that you don’t have to choose only one or two of these regions. You can easily spend time in all of them, engaging in all types of fun and sun-soaked activities. El Salvador is also known for having many volcanoes. Some of them you can drive in, some you can hike on, and some you can admire from nearby. And the country is full of verdant hills, beautiful jungles, and a huge variety of wildlife, especially birds.
Nature lovers will absolutely adore traveling around El Salvador. As well foodies, as the country offers authentic, tasty, and hearty food that will make your mouth water. All in all, it’s a fantastic place to visit. And while we couldn’t possibly cover all of the best things to do, we picked our favorites to get you started. El Salvador is NOT What you think it is. Most glaringly, they have a Democratically Elected Dictator who is implementing a ton of change... luckily it seems to be good change, though not without controversy. So the question is, should you travel to El Salvador with all this going on? (Was I crazy to go solo??)
El Salvador is a beautiful yet small country in Central America. I spent most of my time in San Salvador, the capital city. The Food is amazing, especially Pupusas which are the Salvadoran speciality, but they also have incredible Food in sit-down restaurants-- some of my favorite I've ever eaten.
You'll also experience the Rainbow Slide at the Picnic Steak House, a really beautiful church in the historic center of town called Iglesia El Rosario, and incredible views at Santa Anna Volcano, El Tunco Beach, La Puerta Del Diablo, and Boqueron National Park... When they're open and available to the public!
My hope with this video is that you can decide if visiting El Salvador, and specifically the capital of San Salvador, is right for you. There is a ton going on in El Salvador, and not everyone will want to travel to a country that is in development, but if you do travel to San Salvador, El Salvador... I have a feeling that you might like it.

This El Salvador adventure starts with hiking through the jungle before rappelling down the Seven Waterfalls! This is a MUST DO activity when visiting El Salvador! The Seven Waterfalls Hike is located near Juayua, along the beautiful Ruta De Las Flores. If you do the 7 Waterfalls Tour on the weekend, you will also get to swim at the thermal pools of Chorros De La Calera.

In today's episode, we pay a visit to the world's former most dangerous country: El Salvador in the heart of Central America.
Up until very recently, the country saw one of the highest murder rates per capita and gang violence was common. But since earlier this year, the country has seen a huge transformation, quickly becoming one of the safest countries in the region. How did this dramatic shift come about?
We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university, and live life full-time. We're trying to see and learn as much about the world as possible while we're young. Right now, we are working to visit 100 countries before the end of 2022???? OUR FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF SAN SALVADOR IN 2023 ???????? (this is the future...)
In this video, we take y'all to San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador! We start our El Salvador tour in the Historic Center (Centro Historico) to show you what this area San Salvador has to offer. We started in Plaza Libertad and made our way through la Iglesia del Rosiario, Palacio Real, Catedral Metropolitana de San Salvador, and the lively downtown streets. There were so many people walking around and enjoying the historic center. To our surprise, there were even little bands playing throughout the main square with a number of locals joining in for dancing! Such a fun experience. A little bit later in the afternoon we tried one of the most important foods in El Salvador: THE PUPUSA. We went to an amazing family owned pupusería near our airbnb and it was absolutely fantastic. Every bite was delicious and they were such hospitable and lovely people :) Gracias a La Pupusería Purrushka ❤️ ????????????????

El Salvador covers an area of about 21,040 square kilometres (the smallest country in Central America), although it is the most densely populated. El Salvador is home to more than 6,500,000 people. The countryside of El Salvador is breathtaking, with volcanoes and mountains offering green adventurers exactly what they are looking for. Many of environmentally-oriented community-based organizations promote eco-tourism, and there are a number of beautiful and secluded beaches and forests scattered throughout the country.
A well-maintained and sparsely populated national park is found in the west at Bosque El Imposible. Additionally, there is Montecristo Cloud Forest, and a quaint fishing village with incredible local hospitality and remote coconut islands in La Isla de Méndez.
