From here, wander down Stuart Street to New Zealand’s most photographed building, Dunedin Railway Station. Just up the tracks, venture back in time at the Toitu Otago Settlers Museum, while just across town is the Otago Museum.
Retracing centuries of history can be thirsty work, so combine a little learning with leisure, at Speight’s Brewery, which has been serving up the Pride of the South since 1876. Then stretch your legs on St Clair Beach, a popular summertime hangout for generations of Dunedinites.
Rent a car and head into the peninsula’s hills to Larnach Castle. Further up the peninsula is the Otakou Marae, the hub of Ngai Tahu cultural life. The peninsula comes to an end at Taiaroa Head, home to the world’s only mainland albatross breeding colony.
In Dunedin’s North, visit rare Yellow Eyed Penguins at Shag Point. Then just up the road at Hampden, marvel at the mysterious Moeraki Boulders. At the historic port town of Omaru, Victorian warehouses have become places where imaginations run free, earning the town the title of The Steampunk Capital of the World.
If it’s total isolation you’re yearning for, turn southward to the sparsely-populated Catlins Coast, and for even more adventures, head west into the rugged interior of Central Otago.

Dunedin Ultimate Travel Guide is here! The longest video on our channel to date and one of the most detailed New Zealand travel vlog we've ever filmed. We are so excited to share our picks for Dunedin's top attractions and things to do. And there is so much to see in the city and around it, so let's have a closer look.
Our South Island road trip continued in Dunedin and this was our very first time visiting one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in New Zealand. We came prepared and knew it takes at least several days to explore some of the most popular Dunedin spots. We wanted to see central city attractions including Railway Station, Botanic Garden, Chinese Garden, Otago Museum, Public Art Gallery, University of Otago, Signal Hill Lookout, Baldwin Street and take some time to enjoy the beautiful architecture of Dunedin. We also wanted to explore Otago Peninsula wildlife and some more remote locations like Blue Penguins Pukekura, Larnach Castle, Tunnel Beach and even Nugget Point Lighthouse (which is 90km away from Dunedin). As you can see from this travel video, we were able to tick all these attractions off our list.

Welcome to Auckland. The native Māori people named the area Tāmaki Makaurau, meaning desired by a hundred men. The attraction is still there today, because Auckland is now the most populous city in New Zealand.
In the City of Sails you are always surrounded by water, as becomes clear when you stand on the top of the top of Mount Eden. A nice inner-city beach is Mission Bay.
Other visitor attractions in Auckland include the stately Auckland War Memorial Museum in Auckland Domain park. Daredevils can base jump from the Sky Tower. Children will love the Rainbow's End theme park and the Auckland Zoo. Auckland has many diverse neighborhoods, such as hip Ponsonby and laid-back Devonport. From the city, you can set sail to the forest reserve of Rangitoto Island and Waiheke island with its wineries.
Auckland gives access to the scenic coastline of the country's volcanic North Island. On the other side of the Waitakere Ranges regional parkland is Piha Beach.
The city's unique Māori influence combined with its comfortable urban facilities and rugged nature make it worthwhile to travel to the far southwest of the Pacific Ocean to see Auckland.

Over the course of this day, we'll grab coffee and donuts, take you to a downtown market, and show you some of the great variety of walking trails that Dunedin has to offer. Along the way we'll also show you a unique but delicious dinner spot plus a couple great waterfront spots to grab some drinks or catch a sunset. And stay tuned to the end as we cap off the night at a spot that neither of us had planned.
