Muslims and Jews... Islam and Judaism. What do you think when you hear these words together in the same sentence? If you're like most people, you will think of hatred and negativity... But from my experiences traveling in Muslim-majority countries and openly telling everyone I am Jewish, I've had the opposite experiences.
I love Muslims. They are amazing souls. I've made many great Muslim friends over the years and I will continue to do so. Growing up Jewish, I've realized that Muslims and Jews have SO MANY of the same traditions and values.
I've been wanting to make this video for a while as the message is strong. Please watch to the end, and share it with your friends if you agree that Muslims and Jews are the same.

At this point in my life, I’ve spent more than 1 year traveling across Muslim-majority countries. And many of them (like Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Syria, Indonesia) are my favorite nations in the world!
Growing up as a Jew in the USA, I was told by many that Muslims are bad people… but that can’t be farther away from the truth! There is a huge misconception about Muslims. They are some of the most respectful, hospitable, and friendly souls on the planet, and I learned this from experience.
As I reflect here in Nouakchott, Mauritania on the last day of 8 months on the road, I wanted to share some of my honest thoughts about Islam.

10 Similarities between Jews and Muslims
How much you know about Jews and Muslims?
Did you know that they are in some cases very similar to each other?
Have you ever thought about it?
In this video I’m gonna show you 10 similarities between Jews and Muslims.
Number 10 is Hijab or burqa.
Jews women like Muslim women cover their heads.
As per Judaism all women should wear hijab.
Number 9 is having long hair and beard.
As per Judaism it is not allowed to shave beard same as says in Islam.
Radical Jews never shave and they usually have long hair and beard.
Number 8
Jews like Muslims do not eat pork. Not only pigs but meat of camel and all animals which do not ruminate are prohibited in Judaism.
They even do not eat meat of a shark.
Number 7
Jews slaughter animals exactly the same manner as Muslims do.
Radical Jews are even more careful about eating kosher or hallal meat.
They usually prefer not to eat in every restaurant or party.
The meat of animals slaughtered in the right manner is called Hallal in Islam while Jews call it kosher.
Number 6
Its good to know that both Jews and Muslims believe in one God.
God has 72 names in Judaism one of them is Allah.
Jews believe that there is only one God while Christians believe that Jesus is son of God.
Jews believe in righteous or justice from God. They think that God is omnipotent.
Number 5
Jews pray exactly the same as Muslims perform.
They pray 3 times a day. Early morning, noon and in the evening.
They prefer to pray in groups same as Muslims do.
Good to know that in Judaism women should pray in the mornings but it’s not obligatory to pray at noon or in the evenings.
Number 4
Jews like Muslims think that their father is Abraham.
Abraham had two wives; Sara and Hajar.
Issac was son of Sara while Ismael was son of Hajar.
Muslims say that Abraham is their father through Ismael.
While Jews think that Abraham is their father through Issac.
In fact Jews and Muslims are some how cousins.
Number 3
Jews exactly like Muslims are waiting for the promised king to come and rescue them.
Jews still do not believe in Jesus and they are waiting for the real Jesus to come and end the disaster.
Number 2
Jews men and women cover their heads when praying exactly the same as Muslims do.
Radical Jews are even more cautious than Muslims.
Number 1
Jews like Muslims are against homosexuality.
Although liberal Jews are about to bring some changes in Judaism law but radical and religious Jews are against them.
A verse in Old Testament say that; You must not be in relation with men this action is foul.
An other verse say; If when ever a man sleeps with another man, like he does with a woman, both of them have performed sin, They must be killed.

Ever since I heard that Hamtramck, Michigan is America's ONLY Muslim-majority town, I knew that I had to visit (because I love Islam!!) And it turned out to be one of the most incredible experiences that I've had within my own country, the United States of America.
My friend @JessicaKobeissi took me around her stomping grounds to introduce me to the culture that she grew up in, and I was completely amazed. So many Lebanese, Iraqis, Yemenis, Bangladeshis, Somalis, Syrians (etc) all living together in this suburban Michigan town called Hamtramck, along with nearby Dearborn.
I went during the very first day of Ramadan - the holiest month in Islam - and I even participated in the fast myself. Watch until the end to see what is breaking the fast (or iftar) at Jessica's friend's house.
The moral of this story is that America is SO BIG and SO DIVERSE, and there are many micro-communities to be discovered. Would you like to see more stories about the different communities in the USA?
