Djibouti, Jibuti ou Djibuti é a capital e maior cidade da República do Djibouti. É um porto no golfo de Tadjoura, a parte mais ocidental do golfo de Aden. A cidade exporta principalmente café, couro e sal. Sua população é de cerca de 600 mil habitantes (2012). Foi fundada em 1888 pelos franceses.
O seu porto é principal motor da economia nacional.

Djibouti City is the capital of Djibouti, in the Horn of Africa. It’s known for its 19th-century architecture and the port at the entrance to the Red Sea.
In the European Quarter, Place Menelik has whitewashed French colonial buildings and Moorish arcades lined with cafes and shops. In the African Quarter, the central market sells fruit, vegetables, and spices. The early-20th-century Hamoudi Mosque is nearby.

Don't try to vlog in Djibouti (My experience in the most camera-phobic country I've ever visited) ????????
From Ethiopia, I headed north to the small nation of Djibouti, perched on the Red Sea & Gulf of Aden directly across from Yemen, on the horn of Africa. I had been so excited to begin my journey here - but my enthusiasm quickly faded when I realized that this is no country for a travel vlogger (I should have known this, given Drew Binsky's experiences here on his trip). Everywhere I turned, I was accosted by unfriendly, aggressive Police officers who resorted to intimidation and bribery in order for me to continue filming my experiences in the diminutive capital of Djibouti City.
The Djiboutian locals that I met were invariably kind and understanding - they being the unfortunate victims of their own corrupt police, which are highly averse to tourism and tourists in general. The constant threats of fines and possible jail time completely ruined my two days in this small nation. I am hopeful that, should the people of Djibouti demand it, the corruption that plagues the nation (and that causes tourists to flee) will be no more, and the nation would be a tourist-friendly haven in the horn of Africa. Until then, this country is best skipped by the solo traveler.
I mean no disrespect to the people of Djibouti - I sympathize with them that you Djiboutians to live in a country where the Police serve to ruin the nation's economy by driving tourism from their country. Please know, these are just my own experiences - others may experience something very different.

I had the opportunity to live in Djibouti until I was 7 years old, since then I go back there every one / two years to see my family there.
This year, we visited all the touristic places of the country, for my cousins, that came from France, I thus benefited from it to film evrerything!

I tried to represent my country with its good and bad parts, its wealth but also its poverty, in short I tried to approach reality. In fact, my reality.

DJIBOUTI IS THE WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM
The Global Tourism Institution - European Council on Tourism and Trade decided during Spring Council Meeting to recognize Djibouti as the new WORLD CAPITALS OF CULTURE AND TOURISM.
Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President of European Council on Tourism and Trade has stated: among the recently inscribed candidates for the world top cultural award Djibouti is standing out as a luminary example.
The country encompasses ten world heritage sites on tentative list ranging from natural treasures and natural protected areas such as: Lake Assal and Lake Abbe, National Park Foret du Day to the tumulus of Awellos, cave paintings of Abourma.
The capital city: Djibouti is home to a treasure trove of architectural marvels from the historical Haji Hamoudi Mosque, European Quarter (Malik Square) and African Quarter, Djibouti Cathedral and Ethiopian Church Saint Gabriel of the Sun and the cultural blending space of Les Caisses etc.
Taking under consideration the large array of traditions blending in the country from Issa and Afar cultural heritage to the Yemeni, and French inspirations, the incredibly rich and fascinating natural landscape offered for tourists to discover and evaluating the government decisions inscribed in DJIBOUTI VISION 2035 to make tourism a pillar of development we have taken the decision to validate DJIBOUTI candidature for WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM designation.
Driving Through Djibouti Africa

Djibouti is situated in the Horn of Africa on the Gulf of Aden and the Bab-el-Mandeb, at the southern entrance to the Red Sea. It lies between latitudes 11° and 14°N and longitudes 41° and 44°E, at the northernmost point of the Great Rift Valley. It is here in Djibouti that the rift between the African Plate and the Somali Plate meet the Arabian Plate, forming a geologic tripoint. The tectonic interaction at this tripoint has created the lowest elevation of any place in Africa at Lake Assal, and indeed, the second lowest depression on dry land found anywhere on earth (surpassed only by the depression along the border of Jordan and Israel).
