So consider this Dutch supermarket food tour as a shopping list of what to buy and try when you visit the Netherlands. You can get all your souvenirs at the Albert Heijn. Us Dutchies also do our groceries here and their quality is really good. The shop right behind Dam Square even has really cute Dutch Food souvenir packagings! A guide to the DUTCH supermarkets | everything you can find in the NETHERLANDS
Grocery shopping in the Netherlands is always a treat.
I very much enjoy going to the grocery store, maybe more then I should and with this video I wanted to shed a bit of light of how grocery stores in the Netherlands stand out form other countries. There are many surprising finds and interesting in-tell about the culture.
As for recommendations the video suggests a lot of classics, feel free to share other suggestions! (lidl mozzarella salad is pretty good)
I was also informed that Marqt does not produce profit! which was quite surprising since it s one the more expensive range.
Also let me know if some things only I experienced, maybe some things depend on the region…?

This video is about grocery shopping at Albert Heijn. We usually go to the supermarket located at Eudokiaplein in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Albert Heijn is one of the biggest supermarket chains in the Netherlands. They are super innovative and introduce a lot of new things to make it easy to shopping. Actually, I found shopping is fun. Here we have self-weighing machines for groceries, handheld scanners, Yes you can take the product from the rack and put it in your bag after scanning using this handheld scanner; self-scanning machines at the exit and payment are also done by ourselves. No involvement of any staff members at all. Of course, there is sales staff to help us out whenever and wherever necessary.

???? Albert Heijn Bakery! ???? - Tasting Supermarket Food in the Netherlands
So many supermarkets in the Netherlands have incredible bakeries inside them. Their bread is baked freshly throughout the day, making the grocery store a very common place to go for breakfast or lunch. I couldn't help but create a video showing some of the breads and pastries that are offered in a typical grocery store such as Albert Heijn. In this video I am tasting the following items:
Mini sausage bread (tastes different than 'saucijzenbroodje')
Focaccia bread
Mini pastries (borek, pecan pastry, coffee pastry)
Cheese bread chocolate danish pastry
Chocolate and cheese croissant
Blueberry cheesecake
As a bonus I bought 3 juices that I really enjoy drinking. In my opinion they are special enough to be included in this video!

Decided to get groceries at Albert Heijn this Sunday. For a change, the supermarket was pretty much deserted, whereas normally this groceries store is crowded on both Sun- and Saturdays. Thought I'd use this opportunity to show you around this Dutch supermarkt again as it's been a while..
