Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. ????????????

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. USA to Canada Border Crossing (2022 RESTRICTIONS UPDATE)
The border from the United States into Canada reopened last year since a complete shut down at the start of pandemic (covid 19). This video documents my recent crossing from the USA into Canada by car at the Detroit/Windsor border from Michigan into Ontario.
Prior to crossing the Canadian border, your travel documents have to be upload onto the TravelCan app, which include your personal information, proof of vaccination, valid travel document (passport) and the date in which you will be crossing. Proof of a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of crossing is NO LONGER REQUIRED for crossing the Canadian border by car ! Aside from uploading the necessary documents onto the app, the process is pretty straight forward.

I Got Stopped At The Canadian Border | Van Life in Canada
So I got stopped at the Canadian border. My buddy Mauricio, who lives in Washington state, goes to Canada all the time. He never has any issues getting in. For some reason when I went to make my way in, I started to get questioned quite a bit. Well I think the questioning really started when he asked if I had a job and I said I was technically on leave from my place of employment. The border patrol agent then asked to see my bank statement to ensure that I had sufficient funds to support myself being in Canada. Once the agent saw that I had sufficient funds in my bank account to sustain myself, he just did a quick search of my vehicle and we were good to go. The border patrol agent told me that a lot of people try to migrate to Canada and he said it looked suspicious that I did not have a job. But he said once he saw my account statement, he felt comfortable knowing that I wouldn't be immigrating to BC, Canada.
After the craziness at the border, we proceeded to head to the Whistler Ski Resort and get some amazing snowboarding in!

Today's van life vlog marks the end of our series Baja Bound. While we are super sad to be leaving Mexico, we are also very excited to start making our way back home. The plan? Driving our self converted Sprinter van from Monterrey, Mexico to Toronto, Canada in just 1 week to SURPRISE Bec's family at an Easter gathering.
While it may be the end of van life in Mexico for Eamon & Bec you can always count on us to make the most of the time we have let on the open road. We meet up with our best amigees Tio Aventura Bus to convoy up to Nashville together so you KNOW there will be lots of laughs along the way!

Today's van life vlog takes place in Baja California Sur where we wake in our self converted Sprinter Van in Los Barriles and take you along for a day in the life! Having been here for the last 6 days, we've established a little bit of a van life routine: where we fill up our water, where we go grocery shopping and how we find free beachfront camping!! It's also our 6 YEAR ANNIVERSARY so we have fun sharing a bit of our love story with all of you :)
We have loved living in a van (self converted sprinter van) for the last year and a half and while we enjoy spending time in Canada it can get a little cold throughout the winter. So, we've decided to hit the road and drive across the continent to enjoy some warmer weather in Baja Mexico. If our last trip to this country taught us anything... it's to expect the unexpected!!

Driving the BEAUTIFUL Stewart-Cassiar Highway in British Columbia (+ Hyder, Alaska)!
It's time to head back down to the lower 48 for the rest of the year! On our way up to Alaska we drove the Alaska Highway through British Columbia, but for the way down we took a different route, the Stewart-Cassiar Highway. During our 4 days driving down the Cassiar Highway, plus part of the Yellowhead Highway, we saw stunning bright blue lakes and tons of mountains, learned about jade, camped by a lake, enjoyed some smaller towns, saw BEARS, and slept overlooking an insane glacier. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our summer!

We went to CVS COVID Testing Drive-Thru (72 hours before entering CA)
REMEMBER: it takes 24-to-48 hours to receive your test results!
DOCUMENTS: We brought our Passports, Drivers License, COVID Vaccination Cards.

Can You Cross the US Canadian Border 2021? | Americans in Canada Pt. 1
The US and Canadian border has been closed for the last 16 months due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. It has now just reopened in September 2021. We attempt to take our van (Winnebago Revel) and cross the border with another van life couple and their pup. The process isn't easy as there is a big check list for vaccinated Americans and an even bigger check list for unvaccinated Americans. See if we and our friends make it across the border and check out all the hurdles we had to go through before even getting to the border! We've been dreaming of the day when we get to travel to the Canadian Rockies. Will our dream come true?! Our travel goal is take the van all the way from Canada then to Mexico. Border Crossing USA | Van Life Washington
After two years exploring and overlanding the beautiful State of Alaska in our Winnebago Revel 4x4 Sprinter Adventure van we are moving on down to the Lower 48 where a brand new opportunity awaits us on the other side of Canada.
This requires essential travel for us with Ember and our van.
