Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan is in conversation with Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Imran khan says Well the most important effect it has on cricket is running between the wickets. I have seen change right in front of me when in 1971 I first came into international cricket. One never saw the running between the wickets that subsequently taken place and that only because of one day cricket.
Imran Khan Niazi, is a Pakistani politician, former cricketer and philanthropist who leads the Pakistan Movement of Justice commonly known as PTI and serves as a member of the National Assembly. Prior to entering politics, Khan played international cricket for two decades in the late twentieth century.
Khan was born to a Pashtun family in Lahore and educated at Aitchison, Worcester and later at the Keble College, Oxford. Khan started playing cricket at the age of 13. Initially playing for his college and later for the Worcestershire Cricket Club, he made his debut for Pakistan at the age of 18 during the 1971 English series at Birmingham. After graduating from Oxford, Khan joined Pakistan's national cricket team in 1976, and played until 1992. Khan also served as the team's captain intermittently throughout 1982–1992. He, notably, led Pakistan to victory at the 1992 Cricket World Cup, Pakistan's first and only victory in that competition.
Khan retired from cricket in 1992 as one of Pakistan's most successful players. In total he made 3,807 runs and took 362 wickets in Test cricket, and is one of eight world cricketers to have achieved an 'All-rounder's Triple' in Test matches.
Mansoor Ali Khan or Mansur Ali Khan sometimes M. A. K. Pataudi, nicknamed Tiger Pataudi, was an Indian cricketer and former captain of the Indian cricket team. He was the ninth Nawab of Pataudi until 1971, when India abolished royal entitlements through the 26th Amendment to the Constitution of India. He was born in Bhopal and educated at A.M.U Minto Circle School in Aligarh and then went to Welham Boys' School in Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Lockers Park Prep School in Hertfordshire, and Winchester College.

He was a schoolboy batting prodigy at Winchester, relying on his keen eyes to punish the bowling. Despite his eye injury less that 6 months before, he made his Test debut playing against England in Delhi in December 1961. He found it easiest to play with his cap pulled down over his damaged right eye. He scored 103 in the Third Test in Madras, helping India to its first series win against England. He was appointed vice-captain for the tour to the West Indies in 1962. In March 1962, Mansoor became captain of the Indian cricket team after the sitting captain Nari Contractor was ruled out of the Fourth Test in Barbados due to an injury sustained by Contractor batting against Charlie Griffith in a tour match against Barbados.

Nearly 30 years ago when a mother and father tied the knot in a quiet little ceremony it made news but not headlines. But this week when the daughter preferred her marriage to be a simple but low-key affair, the celebrity-hungry media catapulted it as one of the events of 1997. Even before Priyanka Gandhi's marriage to a Delhi based industrialist Robert Vadra became a media event with attendant controversies. On February 18th, the day of the wedding the paparazzi did not want to miss any footage they can wrap. Some gathered outside the bridegroom's house at the Capitals New Friends Colony and others waited for the baraat to arrive at Janpath, the house of the Gandhis. The star guests of course were a big draw for the biggest photo opportunity came when the newlyweds met Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is an Indian politician, daughter of Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. She also serves as Trustee of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. She is the granddaughter of Feroze and Indira Gandhi, and is a member of the wider Nehru-Gandhi family.
Robert Rajendra Vadra is an Indian businessman and husband of Priyanka Vadra. He is the son-in-law of Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.

■ HIMALAYA, MANASLU: Having survived the most treacherous landslide I've ever had the pleasure of scaling followed up by spending a night in an old classic Nepali potato attic, the trek continues further up the Manaslu circuit. We set out as early as possible as we didn't know exactly just how far up the mountain we were going this day.
One thing I did know though; during rainy landslide season in the Himalayas... there is a right and a wrong path! Being hungry for adventure I obviously once again made sure we ended up taking a wrong turn and land on the most treacherous path possible thus ensuring we could expect the unexpected....
