10. Preah Vihear
Preah Vihear is a Khmer temple situated atop a 525 meter (1,722 ft) cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains, on the border between Cambodia and Thailand. It has the most spectacular setting of all the Khmer temples. Most of the temple was constructed in the 11th and 12th century during the reigns of the Khmer kings Suryavarman I and Suryavarman II.

9. Sihanoukville
Sihanoukville, also known as Kampong Som, is a port city and beach resort on the Gulf of Thailand. The big attraction here are the white-sand beaches and several undeveloped tropical islands. Sihanoukville is a good place to relax and unwind, though be prepared to battle the crows during the high season or a holiday weekend.

8. Tonle Sap
Tonlé Sap is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia and is of major importance to Cambodia. The lake expands and shrinks dramatically with the seasons. From November to May, Cambodia’s dry season, the Tonlé Sap drains into the Mekong River at Phnom Penh.

7. Silver Pagoda
Located within the Royal Palace compound in Phnom Penh, the Silver Pagoda houses many national treasures such as gold and jeweled Buddha statues. Most notable is a small 17th century baccarat crystal Buddha (the Emerald Buddha of Cambodia) and a life-sized gold Maitreya Buddha decorated with 9584 diamonds.

6. Bokor Hill Station
Bokor Hill Station near Kampot was built by the French in the 1920s to be used as a retreat from the heat of Phnom Penh. It has since been abandoned twice, first in the 1940s when the Japanese invaded Cambodia and again in the 1970s, when the Khmer Rouge engulfed the country.

5. Kratie
Kratie is a small town located on the banks of the Mekong River and is dominated by a central marketplace surrounded by old, French colonial buildings. There’s no large scale tourism, but plenty of backpackers pour through here during the peak season.

4. Koh Ker
Koh Ker was the capital of the Khmer empire for a very brief period from the year 928 to 944 AD. In this short time some very spectacular buildings and immense sculptures were constructed. The site is dominated by Prasat Thom, a 30 meter (98 ft) tall temple pyramid rising high above the surrounding jungle.

3. Banteay Srei
Although officially part of the Angkor complex, Banteay Srei lies 25 km (15 miles) north-east of the main group of temples, and therefore often considered a separate Cambodia attraction. The temple was completed in 967 AD and is built largely of red sandstone, a medium that lends itself to the elaborate decorative wall carvings which are still clearly visible today.

2. Bayon Temple
Part of the world famous destination of Angkor, the Bayon temple features a sea of over 200 massive stone faces looking in all direction. The curious smiling faces, thought by many to be a portrait of king Jayavarman VII himself or a combination of him and Buddha, are an instantly recognizable image of Angkor.

1. Angkor Wat
Angkor Wat (meaning “City Temple”) is the most magnificent and largest of all Angkor temples and the top tourist attraction in Cambodia. Built around the first half of 12th century by King Suryavarman II, the temple’s balance, composition and beauty make it one of the finest monuments in the world.

00:42 - Tuol Tompoung Market
Located in the South of the city off Manivong Boulevard and Mao Tse Tung, there's a huge variety of things sold here — From food to cheap goods to cosmetics to even getting your hair cut! Did you know? It’s also called the Russian market, but that’s the one thing you can’t buy there! Haha!

If you're in Cambodia, you definitely HAVE to visit Angkor Wat Temple. We highly recommend catching the sunrise there~

01:35 - Ta Prohm Temple
This was featured in Tomb Raider the movie! Do you think Renald fits the part? ;-)

Many people travel to Cambodia and more than likely, the main reason is to experience Angkor Wat.
Angkor Wat is the main attraction in Siem Reap, Cambodia, but Cambodia is so much more than just Angor Wat! You will be surprised at how many amazing things there are to see and do in Cambodia.
In this video, we share 15 amazing things to see and do in Cambodia.

Exploring the Royal Palace is one of the must see places to visit in Cambodia.
Cambodia has an amazing, rich heritage and its cultural roots can be traced to the early 10th century and beyond.
The Royal Palace in Phnom Penh is the ideal place to start your journey in Cambodia.

Spending a bit of time in the Genocide Museum could be one the most emotional things you will experience in your life time.
To understand a country like Cambodia and appreciate its culture, it is necessary to understand its history.
A visit to the Genocide Museum that chronicles that unbelievable time, when the country was in the grip of the evil Khmer Rouge is a must!
You will be humbled by the sheer and inhuman brutality of the Khmer Rouge.

Visiting the National Museum is one of the things you must do while in Cambodia. The National Museum in Phnom Penh is an absolute treasure trove.

Visiting the Phnom Da temple is one of the more magical things you can do in Cambodia.
Not far from Phnom Penh stands the ruins of this amazing temple.

In the heart of Phnom Penh, on a hill, is an innocuous looking little temple, but this temple is inextricably linked to the history of the city.

6. RELAX ON KOH RONG ISLAND! One of the major attractions in Cambodia has to be Koh Rong Island!
Koh Rong is about 220 km from Phnom Penh.
The closest city is Sihanoukville which is awash with casinos but does have some nice beaches and feels a bit like Pattaya or Macau.

Do you want to getaway from the bustling city of Phnom Penh? Then head to a place located on the banks of a lake called Tonle Bati.
There are some really nice bamboo cottages to stay.
Tonle Bati is a popular amongst locals and visitors.

Sihanoukville is an enchanting resort city surrounded on three sides by water and is blessed with some very nice beaches.
There are many little islands located in the vicinity but at the moment, the main source of attraction is the casinos.

Experiencing the serenity of Phnom Chisor temple is one of must do activities while in Cambodia!

The sunset experience is one of the most popular things to do in Cambodia, as many visitors converge early to get the best view.

Apart from Angkor Wat, one of the most recognised tourist destinations of Siem Reap, are the smiling stone faces that are at the Bayon Temple.
You are literally lost for words as you stand in front of these intriguing stone features.

These temples which are overrun by trees, and visually brought to life by the Tomb Raider movie, makes the temple of Ta Prohm in Siem Reap one of the most visited destinations in Cambodia.

There is a show called Smile of Angkor and it takes you on a journey to the beginning of time through exquisite music, costumes and amazing effects.
Traditional Apsara dancers shine on stage as the history and culture of the Khmer civilisation leaves you spellbound.

Take a cruise on the Tonle Sap Lake.
Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and connects to the Tonle Sap river.
This lake will flood during the monsoon season, hense entire villages are built on stilts.

A stroll along a path that exposes an ethereal looking lake, is a small temple called Neak Pean temple.

The islands of Cambodia are not really that well known to the general public, but they're very picturesque and far less developed than the popular Islands of Thailand.
So, if you're looking to party, relax or just want an underwater adventure amongst pristine coral reefs, then Cambodia has got an island for you!

In this video, we delve into Island life in Cambodia!

We take you on a journey to the 7 most intriguing Islands of Cambodia.

If this is your first time on the channel or you have returned and enjoy the content, then please subscribe and don't forget to press the bell icon so you never miss out on future videos and resources! Here are the 7 amazing Islands of Cambodia!

1. Koh Rong.
It wasn't that long ago, the only thing on Koh Rong was a few bungalows, dense jungle and gorgeous, clean sandy beaches.
Today, it's still possible to find a bit of privacy on the quieter areas of the island. It is alot more touristy now with lots of cheap accommodation having been built so, it is now a haven for backpackers who have ventured to Cambodia.
Though Koh Rong is still relatively undeveloped, it's still a go to spot for travellers who just want to chill out on the beach during the day, and party hard once
the sun goes down!

2. Koh Rong Sanloem.
Koh Rong Sanloem is more of a chilled-out island.
There's not really that much to do on this island, but I think that's a bonus.
Days can be spent paddle-boarding, snorkelling or just chilling out with a good book.

3. Song Saar.
These two small private islands means sweethearts in the Khmer language.
It’s a luxury Island, with villa prices at the Song Saar Resort costing as much as $3,000 per night.
The 24 villa resort, not far from the coast of Koh Rong, offers an exclusive island experience, which starts with a bottle of Champagne as soon as you check in.
I would say it's not really a island for backpackers unless you are not short of money.

4. Koh Thmei.
If you are a nature lover, then Koh Thmei is a fantastic Island as it’s home to monkeys, civets, lizards, more than 100 different species of birds, and several threatened species, including the rare fishing cat. This island has only one place to stay, Koh Thmei Resort, but in reality, it only has simple wooden bungalows, but it is eco-friendly and solar powered.
You can bush walking, bird watching, snorkel or go kayaking.
There are deserted beaches to explore where if your lucky you will see dolphins swimming along the coast.
It's a fantastic island if your a keen photographer!

5. Koh Ta Kiev.
Koh Ta Kiev is an island with just a few rustic eco resorts, and thats about it, but what it lacks in amenities, it more than makes up for in charm.
Days spent here can be filled with beachcombing, jungle walks and snorkelling.
Although there are generators for power on the island, once the sun goes down, Koh Ta Kiev goes almost completely dark.
Bioluminescent plankton lights up the water at night.
Although free camping is not allowed on the island, some of the resorts do have tents, or will rent hammocks to you if falling asleep under the stars is your thing.

6. Koh Tang.
Koh Tang is an island with crystal clear blue water and awesome marine life!
Situated about five hours from the mainland, Koh Tang was the site of a 1975 clash between US forces and the Khmer Rouge. It was the last official battle of the Vietnam War.
It is now uninhabited, except for a small outpost of Cambodian military personnel.
This island has amazing, clear coastal waters with fantastic visibility, pristine coral and marine life, and along with nearby Koh Prins, make for the perfect opportunity for diving.

7. Koh Totang.
Koh Totang is the island of choice for those who just want to escape from the world and do some serious relaxing.
This beautiful island has just one place to stay, Nomads Land, which has only five bungalows.
It's perfect for taking a break from the Internet and unwinding with nature.
There is no access to the internet so make sure you take a good book.

So, there you have it.

Travel video about destination Cambodia.
The kingdom of Cambodia is one of three nations within Indochina. A fertile country with a friendly population that appears to have forgotten its recent dramatic history that comprised French colonial times, Vietnamese occupation and the cruel rule of the Khmer Rouge. The former palaces of the gods have now been transformed into tourist attractions and regal splendour and shining pagodas indicate that a new era has begun. Phnom Penh is the reawakened capital of Cambodia and former Land of the Khmer. It is a wonderful city with all the charm of a bygone age. During the second half of the nineteenth century Phnom Penh became a French colonial town with wide streets, shops, government buildings, hotels and villas all in colonial style. Within its park-like surroundings the Temple Of The Blooming Lotus Blossom features perfect harmony with nature. The Temples of Angkor are the remains of various religious buildings that were built by more then ten kings of the Khmer realm between the seventh and sixteenth centuries A.D. The Ta Prohm Monastery was built in 1186 in honour of the king’s mother and was the centre of the health care for the entire country. Twenty kilometres north east of Angkor Thom are the remains of the ancient sanctuary of Bantey Srei, also known as, The Women’s Citadel. To many visitors to Cambodia this unique and atmospheric temple site is the most impressive of all the country’s historic monuments. Cambodia is a country that is slowly awakening with a population that is willing to forget its past and look optimistically into a bright new future. After thirty years of strife and deprivation this south Asian jungle realm is today a fine tourist destination that is friendly, natural and unspoiled.

5 Best Places to Visit in Cambodia

5 Best Places to Visit in Cambodia

Best known as both the home of the colossal temples of Angkor Wat and for the brutal Khmer Rouge era of the 1970s and later civil war, Cambodian history encompasses both some of humanity's greatest artistic accomplishments and most horrific deeds. The history is what draws most travelers here, but this Southeast Asian nation has more to offer for those who linger longer than a short temple hop to Siem Reap. The coastline of sandy white beaches tempts every sun sloth. Jungle-swathed countryside is geared up for the more intrepid, and the buzzing capital of Phnom Penh envelops visitors in the frenetic pulse of contemporary Cambodian city life. Beyond the temples, and recovering from the atrocities that rained down on the country in the late 20th century, Cambodia is an emerging destination for Southeast Asia travels that manages to charm all who come
