PURA VIDA! Follow us on our offroad journey through Costa Rica - the land of volcanoes, jungles, and beaches. We explored the country for four weeks, driving a total of three thousand kilometres. We climbed Costa Rica's highest mountain Cerro Chirripó and explored the jungle of Corcovado. We enjoyed both sunshine and tropical rain on the Caribbean beaches and watched turtle hatchlings crawl towards the Pacific Ocean in Ostional. It was a memorable journey, and we cannot wait to explore again.

Travel video about destination Chile.
Chile was given its name by the Incas who respectfully called it Chili, ‘the country in the south’. Santiago De Chile, the capital of Chile, is dignified, modest and European-looking and also lively, modern and full of Latin temperament. The Plaza De Armas is the heart of the city and the historic centre of colonial Santiago that contains the city’s most important buildings. The city of Valparaiso or, Paradise Valley, is around a hundred and twenty kilometres from the capital of Santiago De Chile on the Pacific coast. The city’s development was closely connected with its harbour which brought it wealth and power. Since the middle of the nineteenth century, escalators have rattled up and down the steep hills of the harbour city with forty five hills flanking the bay, each of them covered with a number of tiny wooden huts. Only a short journey on a gravel road and the Atacama Desert begins. At its centre it is the driest desert in the world where the forces of nature have turned it into an extraordinary landscape. The Atacama extends between the Pacific Ocean and the Cordilleras, an area of stone and sand that is perforated only by various frequently dried out salt lakes. For those ships that sailed around Cape Horn, Ancud represented a safe harbour on the journey north in which they could rest after sailing the stormy waters of the South Pacific. At a time when whales and seals were hunted in the Antarctic, Ancud served as a supply station along the route to the southern Polar sea. From the Atacama Desert in the north to as far as the stormy Tierra Del Fuego in the south, Chile is a country rich in contrast. Volcanoes, arid deserts, salt lakes, lively geysers, sandstone mountains and a cosmopolitan city. All of this is to be found in Chile, a country at the end of the world!

Nomad America - A Road Trip Through Costa Rica

Shot and Edited by Ben Williams
@benrwilliams

Nomad America
@nomadamerica

Last year, I partnered with Nomad America 4×4 rental of Costa Rica. I've been to Central America several times, and by the end of each trip, I still wanted more. I immediately started to plan out another trip soon after I had just visited the country for the second time within a year. I started to research Camping in Costa Rica, but nothing really surfaced, except this interesting website, NomadAmerica.com. After browsing their site, I came across the Land Rover Defender, complete with a winch, roof tent, surf rack, and pretty much everything you can wish for on an adventure rig. I was sold. We immediately booked it and planned out our 17 day road trip. From remote villages nestled amongst a volcano, to beachside camping, we did it all (almost). We drove, camped, and explored as we made our way down from the Capital, San Jose, down into the lush rainforests of the Osa Peninsula. In all, we covered a total of 600+ miles. As much as we explored, we know what we experienced is still a tiny fraction of beautiful country to be discovered, but what we discovered and experienced was so much more than being stuck in a resort. Until next time Costa Rica. Pura Vida!

Two months travelling in South America

Day1: We started our trip in Sao Paulo, one of the most dangerous cities in the world. What we experienced wasn't criminal or felt dangerous at all. Millions of people and most of the parents of those with babies were carrying them instead of using a trolley.

2:35
Day 4: After a 7 hours bus ride heading east, we arrived at the picturesque fishing village Paraty and enjoyed a nice swim at the local waterfalls.

2:35
Day 6: 7 more hours bus ride to the east, we arrived in beautiful Rio de Janeiro, where we had the chance the celebrate New Year's Eve with millions of locals and foreigners all dressed in white. On the remaining days, we visited the world famous Sugar Loaf and the Christus Statue.

4:40
Day 10: On our way to Patagonia, we actually had to stop over in Buenos Aires but after a couple of hours at the Airport we entered the plane again to fly to El Calafate. Here we rented a car and visited the nearby Perito Moreno Glacier, which is incredibly huge and still growing.

7:08
On the same day, we headed directly south the famous Route RA40 to Torres del Paine. You have to cross borders from Argentina to Chile and must not bring any fruits or any uncanned food. However, it's absolutely worth the 4 hours drive, since the scenery in TDP is simply spectacular. Since it's quite hard to find a free camping site we had to search for a while but we ended up finding one with an awesome view on Las Torres. After some days of hiking and exploring the gigantic Nationalpark by car, we headed by to El Calafate to take the bus to El Chalten.

10:41 Here we did the beautiful Fitz Roy tour.

14:22
Day 19: To avoid another long bus ride we chose to take the plane to Bariloche where we did the Chico bicycle tour which was quite nice but not really worth it. Anyways we took the 1st class night-bus to Santiago de Chile. 16:36 Here we spend only a night, since we heard that Valparaiso was way nicer ;-) and it was!

After art full Valparaiso 16:38 we had a cheap flight (90 US$ only) from Santiago de Chile to Calama.

23:00 Here we used our rental car to explore all the Geysirs and salt lakes around San Pedro de Atacama.

Day 26: After too many days in the Atacama Desert, just because the planned bus was not coming for 2 days, we finally made it on one to exit to Salta. This bus ride to us over 20 hours and 7 of them only at the border :-(

Day 30: Therefore Salta was only a one day visit since Buenos Aires was waiting already. Here we spend a couple of days before I flew to Quito for a Spanish course. 26:50

Day 40: Ater this I worked for 2 weeks on Galapagos Islands which was awesome :-) 28:48

Day 52: One week in the Jungle Cuyabenowas my final destination to round up these 2-month travel experience in South America.

WE WILL TRAVEL AGAIN!

In our wanderlust souls we know this: WE WILL TRAVEL AGAIN. Costa Rica will be ready for you when you are. In the meantime, we stay safe and heal as one people, apart but together.

Love and blessings form the Land of Pura Vida. Now and forever.

Hello Friends, if you don't know who I am, here's a little more about me.

My name is Brice.
I was born in Rennes, France.
After graduating from film school in 2003, I moved to Paris, starting a career in the film industry.

One of my first assignment was assistant editor on an animal documentary. Presented by Warner Independent Pictures and National Geographic Feature Films, March of the Penguins became a box office hit and Oscar winning documentary touching the hearts of audiences around the globe.

My time spent in Paris was shared between his film editing and my love of photography.
In 2009 I decided to follow my long sought after dream and moved to Canada.

My passion for photography soon became an obvious career and, whether it is for portraits at my Vancouver studio, or for larger commercial jobs on location, all around the world, I am now happy and proud to devote all of my time and energy doing what I love most. Photographing/filming athletes for running brands and magazines, and capturing my adventures for outdoors brands.

When I am not photographing big commercial projects, I also work on personal projects like Studio to Trails. Which has been widely popular in North America amongst the trail running community.

My client list includes: Salomon, TED, New Balance, Asics, AirBnb, Canadian Running Magazine, British Columbia Magazine, Trail Runner Magazine, and Nayara Resorts, Relais Chateaux.

This film is a selection of memories during 3 weeks into the wild of Costa Rica in 2016. We crossed the country from north to south and east to west my girl and I. We found lots of wonderful little places along the trip, meeting friendly people and live an unique experience in the middle of wildlife.
Costa Rica is probably one of the best place for nature lovers. We will return.

See it in 4K :)
