Our special-liveried Boeing 747 took to the skies alongside the Red Arrows in a spectacular fly by at this year’s Royal International Air Tattoo. The Boeing 747 has been painted in the colours of the airline's predecessor, British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC), to mark our centenary celebrations this year.

British Airways performing a fly-past with the Red Arrows at the Royal International Air Tattoo
Guests at this year’s Royal International Air Tattoo were treated to a combined fly-past by the Red Arrows and one of BA’s retro BOAC-liveried B747 aircraft.
Royal International Air Tattoo Sat 20th and Sun 21st July 2019
The three day event staged from Fri 19th to Sun 21st July didn't have a good start as the first day was affected by bad weather with little flying, only the Chinook being able to perform its full display. the two weekend days saw much improved conditions with full days of flying thankfully.
This years show was characterised by some special flypasts; on the Saturday a three ship F-16 from the Belgian air force commemorated D-DAY as well as two fantastic flypasts of the Red Arrows with a British Airways 747-436 to celebrate 100 years of British Airways, as well as two flypasts of the Red Arrows with the Patrouille De France to commemorate 50 years of Concorde appropriately in Concorde formation. On the Sunday the Blades formated with an Airbus A400M to help commemorate 50 years of Airbus.
The usual RIAT regulars were in the flying display but some notable star performers namely a Romanian MIG-21 and a pair of EAV-88 Harrier II's from the Spanish Navy and the superb Su-27 P1M from the Ukrainian airforce helped to make this a very good show overall.

British Airways 747 flyby with Red Arrows .. RIAT 2019 (4K)
The Red Arrows participate in a very special flyby in formation with a British Airways Boeing 747 painted with a retro livery from BOAC (British Airways predecessor) used during the 1960's-70's. British Airways has re-painted 4 aircraft within its fleet with retro liveries during 2019 to celebrate the airline's centenary.
