Costa Rica Osa Peninsula Corcovado OVERVIEW U Should GO!

#CostaRica #OsaPeninsula #Corcovado

The Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica is one of my favorite places to visit, including the world famous Corcovado National Park. The Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica is where nature goes to see itself in all its amazing beauty. In the Osa (Corovado area) of Costa Rica you have the BEST of both worlds- the wildness of the jungle bordered by the awe of the Pacific Ocean. Everything is down in the Osa Peninsula- 4 species of monkeys, ocelots, margays, pumas and if you're going to see a jaguar, you going to see it at the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. Macaws, and about another million species of birds and of course all the other animals that call Costa Rica home. Then of course you have the Pacific Ocean and Golfo Dulce with the spinner dolphins, humpback whales (seasonal) and some of the best deep sea fishing anywhere. The Osa Peninsula is the wild, wild west of Costa Rica. Not necessarily for everyone but if you are an adventurer/hiker, explorer, love all the different types of flora and fauna then the Osa and the Corcovado National Park is for you.

This video- Costa Rica, Osa Peninsula, Corcovado OVERVIEW Who Should Go? is exactly what it says, an overview of the area. Where is Corcovado? How do you get to the Osa Peninsula? Who should visit the Osa Peninsula as well as who shouldn't lol. Also in the video are a few travel tips for the area and our recommendation of a place you can stay 'Corcovado Adventures Tent Camp'. Obviously not the only game in town, but we loved it.

2.5% - The Osa Peninsula Documentary Trailer

Will tourism save or destroy the most biodiverse place on Earth?

Directed by Eytan Elterman and Marco Bollinger | Full film:

The tropical rainforest of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula contains 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity on less than one millionth of the planet’s surface. Its incredible natural beauty has caught the eye of the tourism industry and the planned construction of an international airport threatens to transform the region forever. Spanning more than five years, 2.5% – The Osa Peninsula weaves together voices from Osa residents, local leaders and conservation experts as they attempt to build a tourism industry that balances environmental protection with the needs of local communities.

With themes that resonate well beyond the borders of Costa Rica, the film illuminates the effects of tourism development on local communities and offers a hopeful vision for the future of travel in the planet's most fragile places.

Osa Jungle Hostel - For Sale

La Balsa, Puerto Jimenez, Peninsula de Osa, Costa Rica.

Costa Rica vacation

We had an amazing vacation adventure in Costa Rica, especially at the Bolita Hostel in the rainforest jungle, and at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Ecological Preserve.

Bolita Ejector Waterfall video

On a two week road trip in Costa Rica in 2017 we found the ejector waterfall in the Bolita Rainforest Hostel Reserve. Our road trip included stops at Villas Espavel in Samara Guanacaste, Hotel Casa Mariposa at the foot of Mount Chirripo and two stops on the Osa Peninsula to enjoy Corcovado National Park. The ejector waterfall on the Bonanza Trail in Bolita Rainforest Hostel's trail system was our 8 year old son's favorite part of our stop in Dos Brazos on the Osa Peninsula.

GoPro Adventures - Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica 2022

Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula has been called one of the most biologically intense places on earth by National Geographic, and now we know why! Our stay at Drake Bay Greenleaf in the Osa Peninsula was truly incredible, with unforgettable views of the ocean and rainforest. Thank you to the fabulous owners of Greenleaf, Hellen and her husband Steven, who went above and beyond to make us feel like family and at home during our stay. And thank you to our tour guides and friends of theirs, Roy and Gustavo, who showed us around the amazingly biodiverse rainforest inside Corcovado National Park and made this a truly unforgettable trip!

MANUEL ANTONIO y PENINSULA DE OSA - fiji five on tour (pt. 1) | Mai Live

Together with my family I went traveling around Costa Rica for two weeks.

We started off with the Manuel Antonio Nationalpark. It's the perfect start for getting to know Costa Rica and it's natural. Not only can you walk in the rainforest surrounded by lots of different animals like monkeys, iguanas or sloths, but there is a mangrove part as well. Close to that I think one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole country you can find turtles swimming in the river or crabs running around. If you listen closely you might be hearing an Agouti eating or all the different birds singing.

Next we headed to the Osa Peninsula in the south, specifically a place called Bolita Rainforest Hostel. The simple but super cute construction is located up the hill surrounded by the rainforest just next to the Corcovado national park. Believe me if I tell you this place is a must do while traveling through this beautiful country. To get to the hostel you have to park the car at the office in Dos Brazos and walk up the hill to the hostel. You can sleep in private cabins or in the dormitory. In the morning you wake up to the sounds of the forest around you or because of the sun shining in the open space in front of you. You can get up early like we did to see the sunrise from the highest point and hopefully see aras or toucans flying around. Other than the blue Morpho butterflies you might see a group of squirrel monkeys swinging from tree to tree above your head.
After breakfast we went on a hike on one of the many different paths along the edge of the national park. The nature there is phenomenal and so different in every part of the way. After taking a quick and cold shower in one of the waterfalls the river becomes your path. Following the stream we eventually got back to the bottom of the hill on which the hostel is placed. On our way we saw all kinds of births, some were super big others really small, butterflies you could see through, different types of the poisonous dart frog and even a snake! It was truly amazing and a real adventure to stay at this place.

Naturally we were sad to leave after only two days, but there are a lot more things to discover in this little county. After a short visit in Jasper's (also volunteer) project in Puerto Jiménez and a stop in Dominical we are driving to get to MONTEVERDE.

CALATHEA DRAKE LODGE - PENINSULA DE OSA COSTA RICA

My stay at Amazonita Lodge in the Osa Peninsula

I spent the night in an open-air cabin at the amazing Amazonita Lodge in the Osa Peninsula. It is a family-run eco lodge in the rural community of Dos Brazos de Tigre. I love supporting sustainable travel!
