Located in the Kalahari Desert of northern Botswana, the oasis is fed by Angola's Cuito and Cubango Rivers. The delta is a wildlife paradise and home to many exotic animals like elephants, hippos, sitatungas, and African fish eagles. But the delta is in danger as Angola seeks to develop the upper reaches of the Cuito and Cubango. Increasingly, forests along the banks are being burned down for river access, hunting, and subsistence crops. With these growing pressures, the future of the delta is at stake. The Okavango Wilderness Project is rooted in this cause. National Geographic Society sponsored an intrepid expedition team to research and survey the headwaters and document the need to protect the ecosystem. This animated video will reveal some the team's wildlife discoveries and the environmental concerns the delta faces—as well as the tricky business of conservation across political borders.

Australia's Greatest Islands - Go Wild
Australia's Greatest Islands takes a very close swim with manta rays and whales, tracks endangered seals and kangaroos and watches birds that fly backwards in one great film about some of Australia’s greatest islands. Four of Australia’s 20 thousand islands have been selected for this one hour special, all with an abundance of wildlife.
On the southern-most tip of the greatest coral reef in the world, the Great Barrier Reef, the remarkable coral cay of Lady Eliot Island is home to big colonies of sea birds, manta rays, turtles and humpback whales. The star of Kangaroo Island is a sub-species of kangaroos, as well as koalas in plague proportions and endangered sea lions. Sanctuaries like idyllic Lord Howe Island feature with its plentiful colonies of birds, such as the endemic endangered Lord Howe Island Wood- hen, and the Red-tailed Tropicbird, with its fancy courting rituals. Finally, there’s the extremes of the sub-Antarctic on Macquarie Island, with huge colonies of colourful king penguins and enormous elephant seals.
As animals fight to survive in these paradises, so do plants. From tropical beaches to sub-zero temperatures, Australia’s Greatest Islands guides viewers through the abundance of wildlife while
exploring how the unique wildlife survives.

The Bohemian Switzerland National Park
The Czech Republic’s fourth national park was founded in 2000. Its task, simply put, is to preserve the domain of a unique combination of majestic rock villages and sandstone formations with the incredible nature – including the animal kingdom as well as the flora. This primarily boils down to the attempt to restore the countryside’s natural character, erasing the changes recently made to it by humans. The hope is that Bohemian Switzerland’s typical silver firs and peregrine falcons will return, as well as the salmon, whose re-introduction allowed for the return of certain adult specimens from the Atlantic and back to the water of the Kamenice river. Our trips to the rock towns and deep forests also let us realise that we are not only witnesses of the Mezozoic era, but also of the living, natural and healthy present era.
