MOUNTAIN BIKING DEATH ROAD in BOLIVIA! - GoPro Hero7 Black

When we got to Bolivia and found out the number one thing to do is mountain bike down something called Death Road, there's no way we were going to miss it!

North Yungas Road between La Paz and the Yungas region of the country is known as the world's most dangerous road, due to its narrow width and the 2000-foot cliff that drops off to one side with no barriers. Over the years hundreds of people have unfortunately lost their lives on this stretch of highway, which has been dubbed Death Road. Surprisingly it's also turned into a tourist attraction, with plenty of intrepid travellers grabbing mountain bikes and riding down its twisting, perilous path.

We signed up for a Death Road mountain biking tour with the company Gravity Assisted, the most reputable operator in La Paz. We left the city and headed to the highest point of the road, way up in the mountains. From there it was a 3600m descent over 60km along the incredibly scenic and slightly terrifying Death Road.

Afterwards we paid a visit to a wildlife sanctuary that rescues endangered animals such as spectacled Andean bears and spider monkeys from illegal trafficking.

It proved to be one of the most amazing experiences of our entire time in South America, and despite the name, we survived.

This video is not sponsored - we paid full price for our tour with Gravity Assisted, and highly recommend them if you're considering mountain biking Death Road in Bolivia.

Mountain Biking Death Road Bolivia with Barracuda Biking

We went mountain biking down Death Road Bolivia with Barracuda Biking (La Paz). Yungas Road from the Andes to the Amazon is known as the Most Dangerous Road in the World due to the many Death Road accidents and fatalities. This video was shot with a drone (Phantom 3 Standard), an action cam (like a GoPro), and our phone (S6) from our Death Road trip with Barracuda Biking in March 2017.

Biking The Worlds Most Dangerous Death Road in Bolivian | 2020

In this video, we will go on a mountain bike down death road. Death Road in Bolivia is the most dangerous road in the world.

We made it to La Paz, Bolivia! The first thing we wanted to do was to do a day trip to Death Road and bike the entire road, it's about 60KM of downhill mountain biking. The Terrain varies and has a continuous 400-meter cliff on the one side while taking you through different microclimates. We biked through waterfalls, puddles, smooth road, bumpy road, desert-like conditions, cold weather, clouds, and a jungle. The death road bike ride is one of the most beautiful and scenic bike rides you will ever experience.

Death road is still accessible by car, however, most people use the new and improved road. Death road is now primarily used for mountain biking tours. Our tour started at 7AM and finished at 9PM, it's a very long day. Biking death road was one of the best experiences we had when were in Bolivia and we highly recommend it. We used a company called Gravity, you can find them on trip advisor, they have great reviews and we felt safe the entire time.

The Yungas Road is a cycle route about 60 km long which links the city of La Paz and the Yungas region of Bolivia. The route includes the Cotapata-Santa Bárbara section that replaced the old Road of Death, currently reserved exclusively for cycling activities. The road was built in 1930.

It's hard to put into words the feeling you get when you're standing in the middle of the largest salt flat in the world and stare into an endless sea of white! Cycling across the Salar de Uyuni truly is an incredible experience.

After spending three relaxing weeks in La Paz, our longest break in one spot in over 15 months, we set off south through Bolivia towards the Salar and beyond.

We Survived Bolivia's Death Road Mountain Biking Tour & It Was Amazing!!!

While we were in La Paz it seemed like every few feet someone was selling a tour to mountain bike down The Yungas/ Death road. We thought it would be safe because it was so popular... It wasn't.
We both are beginners when it comes to mountain biking and when we got in the transport van, things got really dangerous. Every time we had to let a bus pass we got so close to the edge that we couldn't see the road when we looked out the window.
This experience was worth every penny and we would defiantly recommend it.

Hope you enjoy our video.

The Death Road, Downhill Mountain Bike Ride - Bolivia

At one time legitimately considered the World's Most Dangerous Road, these days this 5 hour downhill mountain bike ride is more about entertaining tourists than it is about life and death transportation. Either way, it's an amazing amount of fun to bike continuously downhill for 5 hours. By no means is it a challenging ride, but what it lacks in skill requirement, it makes up for with amazing scenery and great speed.

Death Road Mountainbiking in La Paz, Bolivien (Videoblog 034)

Biking down the death road in Bolivia - Bolivia Trip 2012

We went with b-side down the world's most dangerous road. It was a really fun experience. We started at 4700 meters or 15000 feet on the main highway, biked for an hour or so and then got back in the van until we hit the death road. We cycled down to less than 2000 meters and then had lunch in a little town before heading back to La Paz.

The road got its reputation from car travel before they built the new highway. Sadly, people still use it instead of the highway. The day before we went down a 2012 4x4 went over the edge with 4 people in it.

YUNGAS ROAD, BOLIVIA 2020 | BIKING ON DEATH ROAD TRAVEL VLOG

Yungas Road, Bolivia is located one hour from La Paz and is the world's deadliest road in the world! It has earned the nickname Death Road as it continues to claim 200 deaths each year. Yungas is also the start of the Bolivian Amazon is a beautiful scenic route that I would recommend to tourists, with caution!

The safest way to explore this 60km road is by biking Yungas Road. About one cyclist dies each year on Death Road, and our guide was able to share some crazy stories. To bike Death Road from start to finish takes about 6 hours, it is a full-day excursion.

Bolivia - Death Road by Mountain bike, La Paz

Website:
Some of us were thrilled, some of us were excited to downhill the probably most dangerous Street in the world. The Yungas Road indeed claimed many deaths during its existence, but remains one of the most important attractions around La Paz, the chaotic metropolis in the heart of Bolivia. Local Operators are mostly found in the Backpacker Zone around the Plaza San Francisco and the witch market.
In this video you will see us shooting down with over 80 kilometres per hour maximum speed, rapidly changing landscapes from 5,300 to 1,500 metres and stunning natural highlights along the way. Prepare to get weak knees and reaaaaly dirty. But do not be scared. just enjoy the wild ride and use your brakes!!!
Most packages include chilling out in the rainforest lodges and a nice buffet.

Passing on Death Road in Bolivia

Bolivia's Death Road, also known at The North Yungas Road, Grove's Road, Coroico Road, Camino de las Yungas, and Road of fate is a 61-kilometre (38 mile) route leading from La Paz to Coroico in the Yungas region of Bolivia. Bolivia's Death Road is infamous for its extreme danger and was christened the world's most dangerous road by the Inter-American Development Bank in 1995. It was estimated that between 200 and 300 travelers were killed yearly along this road. There are crosses and other markings along the road where vehicles have fallen...

Downhill on Bolivia's infamous Death Road ????????

Near the city of La Paz, a narrow gravel road has gained a fair amount of attention over the last decades. Camino de la muerte, or simply Death Road, has claimed countless lives since the 1930s and is known as Bolivia's most dangerous road. Once called the most dangerous road in the world, it is stated that until 2007 around 300 victims found their demise on the road every year.
