Travel vlog. Flying Bangkok to Jakarta (DMK-CGK) on Lion Air Indonesia.
Our airplane arrived after midnight, so public transportation was not an option. We ordered a taxi from the Grab app online and headed downtown to check-in at the hotel. I have stayed here before, and so the staff know us.
I walked around the streets the next morning, and immediately ran into more people I knew. I found the gentleman that I gave my fake Adidas sneakers on a previous trip.
I found hardware & variety store on a push cart and some local street Indonesian food. Most of all, I found friendly and fun people in Jakarta. I love to travel Indonesia.

FLIGHT REVIEW:
INTRO | As you guys may know, Thai Airways is one of my favorite airlines simply because its great catering (in-flight meal) and excellent cabin crew service. Thus, I am very happy to share this flight experience with all of you.
CHECK IN | I had chosen my preferred seat online and during check-in, the staff reconfirmed my seat assignment. She was very friendly and informative about my flight. Since I came earlier, the queue for check-in was not crowded.
SEAT | The seat is quite comfortable with adequate legroom. I love the colorful seats on board this aircraft. The personal entertainment screen offers quite a number of movies, musics and TV shows although i hardly used the IFE during this flight.
CABIN CREW | The crew were professional and very friendly. During boarding I was greeted by the cabin crew in Thai traditional greetings. They were very polite and attentive to assist and serve the passengers. During mid flight, i went to the galley to get something to drink when the turbulence suddenly occurred, the cabin crew politely asked me to return to my seat while asking me what i would like to drink and delivered them to my seat.
INFLIGHT MEAL | On this morning flight, breakfast is served. There were 2 choices available. I went for the Thai style prawn noodle which is very filling and satisfying. It was served together with fresh cut fruits, bun, croissant, a cup of orange juice, butter and strawberry preserves. To finish, i asked for a cup of hot coffee when the cabin crew offering coffee and tea after delivering the meal trays.
BOTTOM LINE | On this flight, this set of amazing crew did a great job in delivering the service. The meal quality was good and the variety of drinks are great too. It was indeed a pleasant flight with Thai Airways.

►Jakarta Travel Guide for Food Lovers:
A couple years before I started ever making food and travel videos, I visited Indonesia, and it was one of the most amazing places, both in terms of food, natural scenery, and people, that I have ever visited. And I always knew I needed to come back again to visit Indonesia, this time with my camera. We only had a couple weeks, so rather than try to rush from one place to another (although I’d love to visit many more islands and cities throughout Indonesia), for this trip, my wife and I just decided to spend our time in Jakarta to really get a feel for the city and its amazing blend of food.
We started off at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport, the budget airline airport, where you’ll often fly out of when you’re taking short flights around Southeast Asia. We caught a direct flight from Bangkok to Jakarta and the flight took about 3 ½ hours from Bangkok to Jakarta.
In Jakarta we landed at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, and after we got our bag, we proceeded to the taxi stand. One of the best taxi brands to take in Indonesia is Blue Bird taxi, and they are very reputable, and have an official stand at the airport. We waited in line just for a few minutes until a Blue Bird taxi came, and we got in. I had pre-booked an Airbnb apartment to stay in, so we took a taxi directly there, located in the heart of Jakarta, in the Mangga Besar area of Jakarta. The taxi ride took probably about 45 minutes and it cost a total of 135,000 IDR ($10.22) - this is a similar price that you would pay for a taxi from the Jakarta international airport to the center of the city.
After checking in, we really didn’t know what we were doing or where we were, but both Ying and I were hungry. So we took a walk down Mangga Besar road. I didn’t know the area was famous for Chinese street food, but we found a number of tents selling Indonesian Chinese street food. We were both so hungry that we stopped at a place called Sin Moy Kong Chinese Food. The food was all Chinese, and even though the menu was all in Bahasa Indonesia, I managed to order a few dishes. The food was alright, and our total bill for everything came to 189,000 IDR ($14.31).

Tentunya penerbangan di masa pandemi covid-19 harus dengan protokol kesehatan yang ketat dan juga melalui proses administrasi karantina ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) sesuai dengan regulasi negara tujuan. Saat itu di Thailand masih diberlakukan skema Test and Go, jadi kami hanya perlu karantina di hotel selama 1 malam. Kemudian H+5 harus melakukan PCR test lagi di Rumah Sakit yang masuk list rekomendasi pemerintah Thailand. Dengan membawa surat pengantar dari otoritas bandara Suvarnabhumi (letter warna pink), PCR test itu tidak memerlukan biaya tambahan.

Ini adalah penerbangan bersama AirAsia dengan program Super+ Unlimited Flight entah yang ke berarap dan entah yang keberapa kali bulak balik ke Bangkok hehehe...
Kayanya sudah mulai sulit untuk mendapatkan penerbangan di waktu yang kita mau, semenjak kondisi penerbangan mulai pulih pasca pandemi. Buktinya, aku harus rela terbang ke Bangkok dengan penerbangan sore yang sampai di Bangkoknya pada malam hari, agak membuang waktu sebenarnya ????, tapi apa daya, saya mah yang penting promo hehehe...
Penerbangan petang itu berjalan dengan lancar dan kerennya walaupun penerbangan sore, AirAsia masih bisa on time !! Salut...! Terkadang, aku paling menhindari penerbangan di atas jam 12 siang, karena cukup rawan delay. Namun, penerbangan sore ini berjalan mulus & lancar, bahkan antrian imigrasi di Don Moeang Airport juga hanya memakan waktu 10 menit saja. ???? yeay...
