While many of its tropical islands are low-lying, some are volcanic in origin with rugged mountain ranges, rainforests and waterfalls coating their interior and colorful reefs lying offshore. After Saint Lucia we visit many more gems in the Caribbean. Whether they will match with Saint Lucia remains to be seen! With the best views of the gigantic pitons, overnight stays in tree houses in the middle of the jungle and the most beautiful snow-white beaches, Saint Lucia is high on the list of the most beautiful islands in the world. We sleep in Soufrière, visit the Diamond Waterfalls, hike the Tet Paul Nature Trail and visit the beaches Anse Chastanet, Sugar Beach and Jalousie Plantation Beach. From the west, we drive our small jeep through the rainforest to the south and east, before relaxing at an all-inclusive resort in the north.
This year we travel all over the world and after the Canary Islands, Oman, Cape Verde and Martinique, Saint Lucia is our fifth destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in the Caribbean and then to many more beautiful destinations! We travel non-stop all year round and film everything. Come with me as I explore Trinidad and chat to the locals about life on the island to find out what Cubans are protesting about? What's it like to live on the island? I start off buying a sombrero from a couple that have never left Trinidad and explain their difficulties in buying materials for their business. I then head to the local store to show the limited stock they have and how it's impossible for locals to buy anything because the stores don't accept the national currency. Ridiculous I know. After drinking a Cancanchara we get a bicycle taxi to the housing projects where tourists don't go to show a different side to Trinidad. We ascend a roof through a tiny hole and get shown photos of La Trova when the island was a popular tourist destination.
