Winter Wolf Capture on The National Elk Refuge in Jackson Hole
Scientists capture a wolf via helicopter on The National Elk Refuge in Jackson Hole. They safely captured the wolf for radio collaring, number ID, and DNA samples. It was an incredible sight for our tour guests.

Last weekend we went down to Wyoming to find a bunch of things to do in Jackson Hole. There are lots of things to do in Wyoming and lots of Wyoming attractions but the little town of Jackson is a highlight.
There are a lot of options for lodging in Jackson. Out of all the hotels and motels, we stayed at the Wort Hotel in downtown Jackson, home to the Silver Dollar bar and the Cowboy Bar.

Jackson is a town in the Jackson Hole valley of Teton County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 9,577 at the 2010 census, up from 8,647 in 2000. It is the county seat of Teton County and is its largest town.
Jackson is the principal town of the Jackson, WY-ID Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Teton County in Wyoming and Teton County in Idaho.
The town derives its name from Jackson Hole, the valley in which it is located.

ElkFest is a weekend of activities built around the world-famous Jackson Hole Boy Scout Elk Antler Auction. The annual event kicks off summer in Jackson hole with live music, a chili cook-off, the mountain man rendezvous and elk antler auction.

National Elk Refuge, Jackson Hole Wyoming
The National Elk Refuge offers a sleigh/wagon ride (depending on the level of snow). While we were there we enjoyed the wagon ride which turned out to be the last ride of the season. It was rough but well worth it to get so close to the elk and the views were amazing. I would definitely recommend taking one of these tours while in the area. Call ahead to make sure they are open!
Chili Cook-Off ElkFest Jackson Wyoming
This video was taken at a Chili cook-off during ElkFest weekend in Jackson Wyoming Mom liked the Hillbilly Chili best. I liked the chili made with venison. Recorded on May 17, 2009 using a Flip Video camcorder.

After hiking up Snow King, this is the view you will be treated to. You can see Jackson, the elk refuge, the Snake River, the Tetons, and the highway leading off to Yellowstone. Also visible is the Gros Ventre where the bison tend to hang out.
