KLM Boeing 747-400 Rocket-Takeoff St Maarten Princess Juliana Airport October 2016 Seat 16A
A lot of discussions are held on the headline. No there are no rockets on this Video! Rocket takeoff means that the takeoff-run was very short and the climb rate was very high due to the fact that the aircraft was very light. Normally a Boeing 747-400 serves long haul routes with a lot of fuel on board on takeoff. In this regular case it needs a much longer takeoff-run. On rather rare short flights like the 1 hour flight form St. Maarten to Curacao, the aircraft is pretty light as it doesn t need much fuel. This is why it accelerates very fast and can climb very steep, other than on regular typical B747 Long Haul Takeoff procedures. Thanks for watching.

I decided to, since I've missed a couple of videos last week, make something really nice!
I found these really beautiful shots of a KLM / Boeing 747-400 Takeoff at Princess Juliana. It's actually the first shot I filmed at St Maarten last December. I also threw in a AA / Boeing 757-200 landing ;) I hope you'll like it! = )
Of coarse don't forget to guess the sound at the end! The competition for 2014 has started so good luck everybody! = )
(The correct answer in the last video was the Boeing 737, Congratulations everybody!)

Mega Power KLM 747 Take off St Maarten
On board a KLM Boeing 747-400. (skip to 1.00 for take off start)
It's such a quick departure because whilst the plane was full with passangers, was lightly loaded with fuel for the short flight to Curacao, to stop the debate raging about the engines, power is from GE CF6, The GE logo is clear to see on the engine housing in front of the KLM Paint.

a Boeing 747-400 flown by KLM takes of at princess juliana rwy 10 during a heavy rain storm and the resoults are dramatick, the few spotter on the beach really gets soaked by this huge jet
CRAZY FAST 747 Takeoff - ONLY 19 SECONDS!!!
On this video the takeoff starts at 1:30, full trust is reached at 1:38 and rotation at 1:49 making this a 19 second roll to takeoff and only 11 seconds after full trust is reached. Thats pretty crazy!

Amazing Plane landing and take-off footage at Maho Beach St Maarten
This is simply the coolest beach in the world. Maho Beach sits directly adjacent to Princess Juliana International Airport, one of the smallest international airports in the world. Experience the jet forces of a 747 Jumbo Jet taking off just 50 metres away from you, and the sight of an Airbus landing just a few metres above the beach. Watch people and their bags being blown across the beach and into the sea...you can't experience this anywhere else in the world. Just amazing!

The last spectacular landing and take-off of the Boeing 747 from KLM @Princess Juliana Airport, Sint Maarten (Dutch Caribbean).
The aircraft will be replaced by an Airbus A330-200 with a capacity of 243 passengers. The Boeing 747 had 408 seats but was a shared flight with destination Curacao. Now it is going to be a direct flight Netherlands - St Maarten 3 times a week.
