A Traditional House (Tharavadu) in the Midst of Nature | Ayalur | Palakkad | Kerala | Malayalam Vlog
Ayalur, a beautiful Palakkad village that is not visited by many. The river, ponds, paddy fields, temples and old traditional houses provides the visitor a memorable village tour experience. Today's trip is to see a Kerala styled traditional house (tharavadu) in the midst of the nature, the farmland behind the house and the mud paths that leads to the river. We are going to the explore Raji Ettan's house in Ayalur, a farmer who is living close to nature.
അയിലൂർ, പുഴയും കുളങ്ങളും പാടങ്ങളും പഴയ തറവാടുകളിലും കൊണ്ട് നിറഞ്ഞ അധികമാരും എത്തി നോക്കാത്ത മനോഹരമായ ഒരു കൊച്ചു പാലക്കാടൻ ഗ്രാമം. ഇന്നത്തെ യാത്ര അയിലൂരിൽ ഉള്ള പഴമയുടെ പ്രതീകമായ ഒരു തറവാട് കാണാൻ വേണ്ടിയാണ്. നാട്ടുകാരുടെ എല്ലാം പ്രിയപെട്ട രജിയെട്ടൻ്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്ക് ആണ് നമ്മൾ ഇന്ന് പോകുന്നത്. പഴമയുടെ കുറേ കാഴ്ചകൾ തേടി.

Ayyarmala Subramania Temple | 500 Years Old Temple Inside Forest | Palakkad | Malayalam Vlog
This video is a journey to the centuries-old bridge and 500-year-old Ayyarmala Subrahmanya Temple in Parali Panchayat.
Parali, the place where two rivers join to form Bharatapuzha. Parli has two bridges, old and new. Parali Old Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in Palakkad, built in 1852 during the time of Robinson, Collector of Malabar. This bridge was built to carry cargo to Ponnani port and bring western cargo to Palakkad. Parali Bridge is located at a distance of 12 km from Palakkad town. This bridge is located on the way to Ayyarmala Subrahmanya Temple.
Ayyarmala Subramania Temple is a 500 year old temple located in Parali Panchayat near Thenur. Nestled in the middle of the forest in the valley of Ayyarmala, this temple is a tranquil place that attracts anyone who loves antiquity and nature. It is said that there is a cave here to go to Palani and the priest here used to go to Palani that way.

About Ayalur | Palakkad | Kerala | Malayalam Travel vlog
Ayalur/AyiloorTemple is on the banks of Ayiloor river in Nemmara. The main deity of this temple is lord Shiva.This temple is more than 1000 years old. It is believed that the Siva Lingam in this temple was installed by Giant Kara. Giant Kara got three shiva lingams, after his prolonged Thapas, and he carried these Lingams one in his right hand, second in left hand and third one on the teeth. He installed the right hand Lingam at Ayalur, Left hand Lingam in Trippalore and the third one in Pallavur. All these temples are situated within five kilometers.
The temple was said to be under the ownership of Kodakara Nair. Kulangattu nair was the warrior of this family and they looked after the temple administration. The name of temple then was Akhileshwarapuram.
The temple had a lot of Akil, hence the name Akiloor or Ayaloor or Ayiloor. Later for a couple of years the temple was under the ownership of various Namboothiri families and finally came under the rule of Cochin king. Now the temple is under the Cochin devaswam board.
The temple faces east and has three poojas and sheeveli on daily basis. The Shiva pratishta is believed to be Parvathy Samethan, is having presence of goddess Parvathy with him. Another specialty of the temple Is that the pratishta of Nandi, the vehicle of Lord Shiva is situated in the southern direction close to the compound wall facing the east. The upadevathas are Ganapathy, Subrahmanyan and Ayyapan. On the right side of Nandikeshan along the Pradakshina path is located seven Mathru swaroopams namely Brahmnai, Maheswari, Vyshnavi, Kaumari, Indrani, Varahi and Chamundi. Godess Pavathy is considered Simhavahini and lamp is lit on the western side of the temple behind Nandikeshan. There is a sculpture of Dakshinamoorthi at the southern side of the temple. Nagapratishta is on the South-west corner of the temple, outside the sreekovil.
