My Chile - Atacama Desert travel video. In Febuary 2020 i spent 5 days traveling the Atacama Desert in Chile. The city i went was named San Pedro De Atacama, it's a small town in the desert of Chile with a really chill vibe that looks like a hippie town. It's really famous place to observe (stargazing, valle de la luna, geysers, lagoons, etc).

Trust me i have never seen so many beautiful landscapes in my life, it felt like i was on another planet, . One fun fact i didn't know before going is that the Atacama Desert is actually the driest place on earth. I started with a bicycle ride at 4am in the morning to see the stars and watch the remarkable Valle De La Luna for the sunrise. The next day our asses hurt so much as it was 5hours of bike ride, sometimes really steep at like 2,500 meters of altitude! The next days we visited the lagoons and the geysers and the mountains around the city.

Minha primeira vez no Deserto do Atacama foi em 2014. Desde então, já realizei muitas expedições para explorar e conhecer cada vez mais as belezas do deserto mais árido do planeta.

Planning a trip outside your comfort zone is not always easy. Let us show you how accessible the Atacama Desert can be, and that doing a self-driving tour can not only give you the freedom to see what you want but is actually more cost-effective than booking all the tours available from San Pedro de Atacama the tourist hub of the desert.
In this first episode, we make our way to the Desert from Calama after hiring a car using and picking up some supplies at the local supermarket.

Our accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama was the Planeta Atacama Lodge
San Pedro de Atacama is about 100km and a 1 hour 30-minute tarmac (easy) drive from Calama. The town has plenty of hotels, hostels and B&B's to suit all budgets. If you do have a car consider that the town does not have great parking facilities so pick a hotel that has a secure carpark if you can.
Food and Drink in San Pedro can be more expensive than in other Chilean towns and this is understandable considering everything has to be shipped in. There are still reasonable places to eat but not all are allowed to serve alcohol so check if that is important for you.
The Valle de la Luna Moon Valley is an incredible first-day experience and one not to be missed. Close to San Pedro, the off-road parts of the reserve are easy to navigate and help you get started with driving in this area. Remember to always carry water with you as you walk around, it's amazing how quickly you can become thirsty. Sunscreen and a hat also essential.

Laguna Cejar 19km outside of San Pedro de Atacama is about a 30 to 40-minute drive on a dusty bumpy track it's quite expensive and unless you plan to swim in the salty water we would not suggest you bother going and save your 30,000 pesos for other areas.

Vous pouvez louer un vélo (c'était mon choix) ou une petite voiture, pour visiter les différents quartiers.
J'ai passé 4 jours / 3 nuits à San Pedro de Atacama.
Au sud de la ville, aller au Salar; en vélo c'est environ 70 km). Le coût pour l’entrée de Laguna Cejar et Piedra pour 4 petits lacs sont très élevés. Allez plus au sud jusqu'à Laguna Tebinquiche, c'est incroyable.
À l'ouest de la ville, vous pouvez visiter la vallée de la Luna; J'ai pris le vélo et vous pouvez marcher au sommet de la vallée. Et à 4 km de la ville, vous avez la vallée de la Muerte.

Let's bike in Atacama Desert 4K
After visiting the Salar of Uyuni, I've stopped by San Pedro de Atacama in Chile. I went to LOCAVENTURAS. They organize tour with a guide and lend for free the bike for a half day to all the customers who take a tour with them (locaventuras@gmail.com). I got up at 03.00 AM, went to Piedra del Coyote at Sunrise and biked the whole day. The whole trip is just amazing. By bike you can visit la valle de la Luna and la valle de la muerte. But you'll need a good rest the second day ;). To help you find your way, use Maps.Me. See below for the grids. The maps that you'll receive are not accurate at all.
