As I mentioned last week, the only way to choose whether your roomette is on the upper or lower level of your car is to ring Amtrak and have them change it for you. As I live in the UK, the cost of making a call to Amtrak to have them change my roomette, would have been far higher than I would have been willing to pay just for the sake of a slightly better view!
I should also mention that this runs daily both northbound and southbound (including Sundays!)
I forgot to say in the video that we actually arrived into Seattle about 20 minutes earlier than the scheduled arrival time of 7:56pm which is unusual for Amtrak (in my experience, they usually run an hour or two late on long distance routes!)

I haven't been on the Amtrak since my Elementary School field trip to the San Louis Obispo Mission.
I decided, instead of driving to a family members wedding in San Jose, why not take the stress off of travel and take the train instead? PLUS the Amtrak Coast Starlight is FAMOUS for such a beautiful and scenic ride, for a fraction of the cost of gas prices and flying.
Here was my experience, I hope you enjoy!

Amtrak's Coast Starlight Review | Bedroom Suite - San Francisco to Los Angeles
Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new video onboard Amtrak's Coast Starlight. Today I'm riding from Emeryville (San Francisco Bay Area) to Los Angeles. I booked a Bedroom Suite with the family which consists of two interconnected bedrooms. I also got to try out the brand new Traditional Dining. Train wasn't as busy because it was cancelled from Sacramento to Seattle. This was probably my favorite Amtrak experience yet! Amazing views and a great way to head down the California Coastline! Highly recommend this trip for anyone who wants something different from the plane!
