The Clown Motel in Tonopah, Nevada has been called the scariest hotel in America. The hotel has rooms themed after famous horror movies and it has a lobby with thousands of clowns on display. A look at the world famous Clown Motel aka America's Scariest Motel. We stayed a night at the Clown Motel and got a look at all the theme rooms that guests can book when staying at the Clown Motel.

CLOWN MOTEL (Tonopah, NV): highlights of its creepy perfection
Highlights of a very fun, quick overnight stay at the World Famous Clown Motel in Tonopah, Nevada. It was an absolute blast. With the clown theme, the Clown Museum with over 2000 clowns from all over the world, its location adjacent to the historic Tonopah Cemetery, and of course, situated within a couple hours’ drive of Area 51, the Clown Motel is quite an iconic spot for local and international travelers, ghost hunters, historians, cosplayers, professional clowns and entertainers and filmmakers alike.
Tonopah itself is historic and scenic, with much to explore including mining demonstrations, historic hotels and buildings, remaining structures of ghost towns and abandoned brothels. Northern Nevada gets cooler and cooler the more you explore.
Side note-get gas every chance you get, and stock your car full of food and water. All are few and far between as you cross the upper parts of NV.
(Side side note-not ignoring the eerily beautiful cemetery, it will ideally be getting its own video.)

The Clown Motel in Tonopah boasts what’s got to be the largest private collection of clown figurines and memorabilia under the sun. If the creepy clown theme—which stretches beyond the lobby and into each room—isn’t enough to spook you, the added bonus of some resident ghosts slinking over nightly from the cemetery next door might just be the ticket. Even if you don’t stay the night, drop by the lobby, get drowned in clowns, and snap up some truly unique souvenirs from the mini gift shop in the corner. Oh, and before we forget: free clown noses, anyone?
Aside from the name of the property and flashing bulb marquee out front, what makes The Clown Motel live up to its name? A collection of more than 2,000 clown figurines from all corners of the globe, of course. It all started in 1985 when Leona and Leroy David built this motel in memory of their father, Clarence David—a clown lover who left a collection of 150 clowns in his home. The David siblings decided to use them as the theme and focal point of their motel in memory of their father.
Guests will come face to face with thousands of clowns adorning the shelves of the motel lobby at check-in, and all 31 rooms feature two to three custom clown art pieces. If you’re looking for a possible otherworldly experience, consider requesting a stay in rooms 108, 111, 210, and 214. Spirited or not, any room you book will come complete with a TV, fridge, microwave, and AC/heat.
The Clown Motel is situated directly next to the historic Old Tonopah Cemetery, entombing many of Tonopah’s earliest silver mine workers who died in a tragic mining accident—the Belmont Mine Fire of 1911. Along with its obvious clown theme, The Clown Motel has been named “America’s Scariest Motel” due to its proximity to the Tonopah cemetery grounds and featured on Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures.”
Situated almost exactly between Reno and Las Vegas, you’ll find The Clown Motel on the north end of Tonopah, a desert town brimming with mining history and steeped in stories. Free wifi and complimentary lobby coffee are offered at The Clown Motel, as are barbeque grills you can use on your patio. Pets are welcome with an additional fee, too. The place has a habit of booking up more often than not, so be sure to secure your reservation before you hit the road.

We Experienced “America’s Scariest Motel” | The Clown Motel
We visited and explored the World Famous Clown Motel. Paranormal activity has been reported here as many from around the world come to experience what is know as “America’s Scariest Motel”.
A collection of clowns (some haunted) adorn the main lobby of the infamous motel.
Spirits from the adjacent Tonopah Cemetery are said to make their presence known in the rooms of the motel. Voices, screams, EVPs, Shadow Figures, and other paranormal evidence has been reported.

While spending a night in Tonopah, I HAD to go get y'all videos of the Famous Clown Motel! It is so weird!! Very hip, when I snuck in to try to get a room video (which I did) I appears to be a place where young adults stop over to probably do exactly what I did, Record! LOL!
Not sure what one would do while staying here. Explore mines I guess. Go to the Casino, once ???? fro a minute.......
Tonopah is half way between Las Vegas and Reno. So it gets a lot of overnighters. After going further north. little we will probably stay in Hawthorne next time as there are nicer parks behind nicer casinos.
However, it is always graeat to stop somewhere new and check stuff out! Make sure to watch the video of the room at this unique motel .

AMERICAS SCARIEST MOTEL THE CLOWN MOTEL HAUNTING
This video shows Paranormal Investigators Joe and Murad from Presence Of The Unknown Paranormal investigating America's Scariest Motel. We got to investigate the most haunted room at The Clown Motel Tonopah Nevada. We had some really good Spirit Box sessions with lots of voices coming through. The EMF meter was really being affected to something there with us.
