Spectacular A380 crosswind takeoff in snow (4K)
The mini Beast From The East weather arrived in the UK in mid-March 2018, with bitter temperatures and biting east-northeasterly winds not that much less severe than its full-blown cousin at the beginning of the month.
Here, Emirates EK40 creates its own snow and slush storm as it 'blasts off', angling into the wind and tipping.

Watch the Emirates Airbus A380 the whale of the sky landing during a wonderful Christmas day with minor crosswind on Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and a massive water spray once reversing the thrust.

TUI Boeing 757 Comes into Land SIDEWAYS in 40 KNOT CROSSWIND at Bristol Airport During a STORM
Strong winds blowing directly across the runway at Bristol Airport on the 12th October 2018 due to Storm Callum caused this TUI Airways Boeing 757-200 aircraft to come in nearly sideways. Aircraft need to compensate for the crosswind otherwise they will be blown off course, they do this by pointing their nose into the direction the wind is coming from, demonstrated perfectly by this crew. It is always fascinating to watch planes landing in strong crosswinds; the power of mother nature vs the skill and professionalism of the brilliant airline pilots.

Trial by turbulence - A380 thrown around but gets through
The only time I've seen the world's largest plane toyed-with by severe weather, and in particular windshear which caused other flights to abort the approach.
The Easyjet A320 simply didn't try again and diverted away.
This was a day when the wind grew stronger as it moved towards crosswind direction, finally erupting as shown here.
The runway having been drenched minutes earlier, the avalanche of reverse thrust spray capped the Emirates giant's performance!
The airport is Birmingham (BHX). The Emirates flight is EK39, on 29th November 2018 as Storm Diana lashed the UK.

Airbus A380 shatters snow pack
The only plane on Earth with engines blasting the runway edge with well over 30 tonnes of thrust, this A380 on its takeoff run smashes the remaining snow and ice like nothing else can.

Watching such a big plane causing a snow storm while taking off in a snow airport.
Frankfurt was closed due to heavy snowfall. As a result Cologne got lots of interesting diversions like this A380 of Lufthansa. Nice to see this A380 working as a snow plow and reducing the visibility of the Germanwings A319 crew which was waiting behind the A380. Lufthansa A380 don't show up regular in my area and it was a nice possibility for me to film the departure of this huge airplane.

Spray and condensation everywhere!
Following the deep winter weather of March 2018 came the rain and fog of April, causing impressive reverse-thrust effects on the
soaking runway and wing wake displays in the saturated air.
Here, some heavies - A380, 787, 777, also 757 - do their mind-boggling stuff.
Storm Emma: A380 crosswind double bill (4K)
The 1st and 2nd of March 2018 brought the most hostile weather for years in the UK. At BHX, daytime temperatures well below zero and persistent snow combined with powerful, gusty (and uncommon) east-northeasterlies causing testing times at the airport.
This video shows how the two Emirates EK39 flights coped, on the 1st and 2nd March. In addition to the rocking and rolling, the slush on the runway is fodder for quite spectacular engine reverse thrust spray.

The wind was extremely strong, gusting at over 50 knots as this A380 fights to get airborne.
WET & WINDY TAKEOFFS on SOAKED RUNWAY during Storm Barra (AMAZING SPRAY!) | Bristol Airport + ATC 4K
The final installment from yesterday's Storm Barra action at Bristol Airport. This time we take a look at a handful of very wet and windy takeoffs - with so much rain throughout the morning there was plenty of surface water to be displaced when the aircraft set full power and blasted along the runway, making for some awesome footage! ????
Air traffic control takeoff and handoff clearances have been included in the video ???? I also included a little extra bit of ATC at 07:25 where the tower controller informs one of the pilots that should he need to divert, his company had arranged for them to go to Birmingham, just listen to the joy in his voice when he hears that! ????

Storm (Emma) in a cockpit
Seeing the pilots thrown around whilst trying to control the plane in a vicious crosswind should make you spare a thought for the folks at the business end next time your flight experiences turbulence.
This is Flybe flight BE403 from Belfast landing just before the Emirates A380 in my previous Storm Emma video taken on 1st March 2018 .
