I Flew Air North's INAUGURAL FLIGHT to Toronto!
On May 10th, Air North, Yukon's Airline, flew their first flight from Whitehorse to Toronto, via Yellowknife!
This new route will have a huge economic impact on Canada's North, as the very first time that the Northwest Territories and Yukon have ever had a direct link to Toronto.
So, given all this, I knew I had to come back to Whitehorse and see what an Air North inaugural flight was like!

I Flew on Canadian North's Boeing 737-700!
Back in February of this year, Canadian North Airlines launched a new route between Calgary, Alberta and Yellowknife, NWT!
Canadian North is the largest airline in Northern Canada, and serves the Northwest Territories and Nunavut through their hubs in Yellowknife and Iqaluit respectively.
Needing to get to Yellowknife for my trip on their 737-200 before it was retired, I wanted to take advantage of this very convenient new service and see what Canadian North had to offer out of YYC!

FLYING CANADA'S SHORTEST 737 FLIGHT? Air North 737-500 Victoria to Vancouver
Victoria to Vancouver is one of Canada's shortest, yet busiest commercial air routes.
One oddity on this route is Air North's Boeing 737, which flies it as part of a triangle routing, flying Whitehorse-Victoria-Vancouver-Whitehorse.
With just 63 kilometres between airports, is this Canada's shortest commercial 737 flight?

North by Northwest Territories (Pt. 3) - Air North Flight from Whitehorse, Yukon to Inuvik, NWT
November 9, 2019 - I'm heading further north today on the fabled Milk Run flight with Air North, from Whiterhose, Yukon to Inuvik, Northwest Territories! This will be a series of three flights, each about one hour each, with two layovers along the way in Dawson, Yukon, and Old Crow, Yukon.
The flight is colloquially known as the Milk Run as a large percentage of the cargo on this flight is food and other cargo destined for these smaller, more isolated communities in these distant regions of Canada's territories.
Highlights? Seeing the gold rush town of Dawson (from the sky), the isolated community of Old Crow - AND officially crossing the Arctic Circle, might I add - the Ogilivie and Richardson Mountain ranges, Aklavik, the Mackenzie Delta and all of its frozen lakes and tributaries, and finally, Inuvik itself.
I have finally made it to the Northwest Territories, and thus, as of this very moment, every single Canadian province and territory.
