The recently renovated terminal here in Victoria may be small, but it's packed with modern designs and tons of amenities (including North America's only in-airport distillery!).
Today's service to Toronto is onboard one of Air Canada's Airbus A321s, which is definitely feeling forgotten and unloved. From a painful-to-use entertainment system to a broken preferred seat, this fleet is aging and Air Canada hasn't announced any plans for retrofits...

A review of the Maple Leafe Lounge at Pearson International Airport (YYZ- Toronto) and the Premium Rouge seats and service. We flew in mid July 2022. Air Canada Rouge is not my favourite airline. I much prefer Air Canada ... but if you have to travel Rouge, is it worth it to get the Premium Rouge seats? I think so. If you want space, Premium is the way to go. Lounge access is ok but remember that there is no lounge in Orlando.

Aircraft was Airbus 319. Good to know that AC Rouge has changed the initial not very comfortable North American Premium Economy to the proper North American Business Class seating - I think that's a smart move, as they would end up losing many clients that are accustomed to the proper business class.

A short 2.5 hour flight from sunny Florida to wintery Canada, on Air Canada's leisure airline, Air Canada Rouge. Rouge's fleet of Boeing 767s (what I'm onboard tonight) were originally part of Air Canada's mainline fleet, and so they are 25+ years old (and showing it). Once transferred, these aircraft are outfitted with new interiors that are significantly less comfortable than the old Air Canada ones, and don't really make the plane feel any newer. On the bright side, Tampa Bay Airport is looking fresh. Their latest addition is a brand new rental car centre, which is a massive remote facility connected to the airport by a Skytrain. Air Canada Upgrade Bidding Explained
Air Canada introduced a way to upgrade your ticket to business class or premium economy. If this is the first you hear about Air Canada bidding for business class seats, then this video is for you.
When you purchase an Economy or Premium Economy Class ticket on an eligible flight operated by Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge, or under the Air Canada Express banner, you can make an offer for an opportunity to be upgraded to a higher cabin class.
Air Canada's Business class cabin is set to a high standard, especially for overseas flights. As a result, bidding for a business class seat on Air Canada is a great way to experience the cabin for yourself! If you don't win the bid, you don't get charged. If you do win the bid, well, then you get a business class flight with larger seats with extra legroom or your very own fully flat bed!

Air Canada A319 Preferred Seat review
On an early Saturday morning in January I got to fly a short hour-and-a-half flight from Edmonton to Vancouver. I got to the airport at 5 in the morning for one of the first flights of the day. I had flown on Air Canada's A319 once before, but this was business class. And since the interior on the A319 is so similar to the other A320-family aircraft in the Air Canada fleet, I figured I'd spend a few extra dollars to try out one of the Preferred Seats. Was it worth it?

Flight Report onboard Air Canada Rouge Airbus A319 in Economy class from Quebec City YQB to Montreal YUL.
Air Canada Rouge, Rouge meaning red in French, is a low-cost airline and subsidiary of Air Canada. Air Canada Rouge is fully integrated into the Air Canada mainline and Air Canada Express networks; flights are sold with AC flight numbers but are listed as operated by Air Canada Rouge (similar to regional flights operated under the Air Canada Express banner).
Service concept
Seating :
The Air Canada Rouge Airbus A319 has 16 more seats than a regular Air Canada Airbus A319 with 136 seats, the first four rows being for Rouge Plus and Premium Rouge passengers. The Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767-300ER carries 71 more passengers than most regular Air Canada Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, with 282 seats. Of these 223 are economy, 35 Rouge Plus and 24 Premium Rouge. The 29-inch seat pitch on their A319 and A321 aircraft is one of the smallest in North America, resulting in less leg room than on most other comparable aircraft.
Entertainment
Air Canada Rouge is equipped with a wireless streaming entertainment system, called Player, that passengers can use directly on their personal devices, such as Apple iOS and Android devices, as well as laptops. The streaming system works on Apple devices only if the Air Canada application is downloaded prior to the flight; Android users can now download the app prior to departure or while in flight from the on-board server. Laptop use requires the Flash plug-in. iPads are available for rental to Economy Class passengers for a cost of $10 and are complimentary for Premium Rouge customers. The rental iPads are loaded with additional premium content on the Player Plus app.
On-board services
Baggage policy is the same as Air Canada's. Flights to and from Europe have complimentary food and drink service with for-purchase alcoholic drinks. A buy-on-board food offering in line with the mainline service exists for all other flights.
