WOW this is the absolute must do thing to do when visiting Muscat! We never expected that this day trip would be one of Muscat top tourist attractions and sight-seeing places of Oman. Wadi Shab was one of the most fascinating natural wonders we've experienced on earth. We visited Bimmah Sinkhole and Wadi Ash Shab, where we found and swam in Wadi Shab hidden water caves.

Oman Road Trip - Travel Documentary | Bimmah Sinkhole | Wadi Shab |
Episode 31 - In the third part of this Oman documentary series we take a road trip through Oman. There are so many options when hiring a vehicle to do a road trip in Oman. You can rent a Four-Wheel Drive with rooftop tent and all the camping gear supplied or just hire a 4WD and buy some cheap camping gear. We did this and it worked out so much cheaper. Driving in Oman is easy and most of the main roads are in perfect condition and well signage. We were honestly surprised how nice the highways were – so wide open and smooth. The other amazing thing is you can camp just about anywhere you want in public areas only not private property of course unless you have been invited to come and stay which had happened to us regularly. The Omani people are some of the kindest and most hospitable we have ever meet in traveling the world.
The first stop on our journey was the Bimmah Sinkhole also known as Hawiyat Najm Park is filled with water about 200 meters inland. It is about one and half hours drive south of the capital Muscat. It is one of the most beautiful natural pools in the Middle East and is free to enter.
Next stop is Wadi Shab and is one of the top highlights of Oman trip. We get a boat across the river mouth to start our hike. It takes about 1 hour to hike through the narrow canyon which has many crystal-clear blue water pools along the way. We soon reach the end of the hiking trail from here we have to swim for about 20 mins through a number of beautiful refreshing pools to reach a secret waterfall inside a cave.

On our way from Muscat to Sur, we visited some of the most amazing water attractions Oman has to offer. First stop, Bimmah Sinkhole - a mix of freshwater from the mountains and salt water from the ocean. You won't want to miss the mesmerizing turquoise hues of the water. Second stop, the world-famous Wadi Ash Shab. This river valley is surrounded by mountain cliffs and includes a hike through wading pools that lead to a surprise cave waterfall. The sense of adventure is palpable, and the views are unbelievable.

The water is BRIGHT turquoise and the rocks are PEARL white while the valley is a ROSE red. Mix them together and wooooo you have the most beautiful valley in Oman!! ????????
We took day hike there walking in Wadi Shab, this valley, ending in one of the most relaxing waterfalls. Wadi Shab makes you feel like you're in heaven.... ????

Wadi Shab Oman: TheBeshVlog travel
This video will show you the one of the most popular wadi here in Oman. It is located in al Sharqiya region, less than 2 hours drive from the capital Muscat.
Wadi shab has a lot of things to offer but you need to be physically prepared as the trail consists of the rugged cliffs, huge rock formations and ponds/wadi. If you cannot swim on a long distance, better to equip yourself with safety devices that will keep you safe until you reach the end part which is a falls inside a cave.
We’ll feature also the al bimmah sinkhole located in Tiwi which is along the way, you can go there before or after you visit wadi shab, depends on your preference.
