Theth is a small village within Shkodër County, Albania. Following the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Shkodër, and has been declared a Protected Historic Center by the Albanian Government. The community is at the centre of the Theth National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Join us as we take the 4x4 road in our trusty fiat punto to the greatest secret beach in the Albanian riviera, and no it's not Gjipe beach ????????
We left the seafront village of Borsh to find a secret beach i found on google maps that had a questionable looking road going down the cliff to it.
The place was called Lambjano bay and its absolutely stunning however was a little tricky to get down and up the road (a lady at the top told us not to go in a car and we need a 4x4 but we went for it anyway) as you'll see in this series this is a common theme...

Shala River: Albania's Hidden Paradise - Exploring the Wild Side of Albania - 4K (Lumi i Shales) ????????????
We've been going to Albania for years, and every time I'm amazed by how much this small country has to offer. This time, given the recent tourist boom, we decided to explore places other than the well-known ones like Vlora and Saranda, heading north to the Theth National Park area and beyond. We'd heard about the Shala River, not easy to reach but highly regarded. So there we were, bumping along on rough roads in our old vintage van, hoping it'd hold together, excited for what we'd find. We headed for Lake Komani, where we read you could catch a boat to a stretch of the river where they built resorts and restaurants on stilts. After a couple hours of terrible roads that tested our van's suspension and our patience, we reached Lake Komani. We slept under the stars and headed to the port the next day.
After a good breakfast of Birek, a kind of stuffed flatbread that's big in Albania, we set off on a small boat with a group of other tourists to the Shala River. The landscape is incredible, with the dark green river winding through the mountains, reminding me a lot of Vietnam. Our dog Karma quickly becomes the center of attention, with our fellow travelers insisting on taking pictures with him. When we get to the Shala River, the sight before us is incredible, with the cold river water in a thousand different shades of green, light blue, and white, and restaurants and resorts lining the banks.
We spend the day soaking, shuttling between the cold river waters and the sun-drenched banks that also provide decent shade thanks to the many trees. It's an endless pleasure, made even better by cold beers offered at the many kiosks around. There's music too, from a DJ with a booth on a platform in the water. For lunch, a kiosk serves up mixed grills, and the desire to return to dry land is at an all-time low. In fact, starting in the morning you can stay for 4 or 5 hours, although there's the option to sleep in one of the many resorts, which I obviously highly recommend, given that the place is a paradise and getting to the Shala River from Komani Lake's port takes about an hour and a half. Shala River is one of the still underrated spots in Albania, offering its genuine character to those who choose to venture into wild Albania.
Gjipe Beach: The hidden paradise for beach lovers and hikers in Albania ???????? (2022.6)
Gjipe Beach is definetly a hidden gem in Souththern Albania.
Located in Riviera, about 2 hours south of the larger city of Vlorë . It’s a beach surrounded by towering rocks, and beautiful aquamarine waters of the Ionian Sea. Gjipe is one of the area’s most famous beaches in the region, but less crowded due to way entering. It is famous due to the natural canyon there, it is very impressive to have a look around.

???? Wear sneaker or hiking shoes if on foot

Bit of a different kind of video, but since it's the Christmas period and everyone will be focusing on their own holidays and spending time with friends and family, I recently came back from a short trip in Albania as a late birthday gift to myself, I thought I'd just share a video of a casual drive through the Albanian Riviera with some calming cinematic background music, and no advertisements within the video, allowing for a non-stop listen to background music.

I would normally shoutout the companies I use during my trips, however, on this occasion I cannot, as the hire car company I used during this trip actually scammed and harassed me out of £240 in fees, holding my £1,100 car deposit hostage.
